Wow Steve i feel like iv'e been meditating, talk about chilled out. Beautiful film, i don't know how you do it, all the wild life shots, whenever i'm out i just tend to see the back end diving for cover. Hats off for this one Steve, very nice. ATB. Jim.
Great video. Not sure if you remember, but about 9 months ago you nominated me for the 7 questions thing. Apologies for the wait, I was out last night and hopefully have a video up in the next couple of days answering the questions for you and a little explanation for the wait. Keep up the good work
That's the awesome side to the scenery of the Dark Peak, the variety of gorgeous wildlife and the rugged stones among the heather and blueberry. Regardless of the weather at the time, it's still to be enjoyed. Thank you for sharing, it's a wonderful video, Steve. Take care...
This is 1st video of yours i have watched and really enjoyed it as found the music and the scenery very relaxing Thanks for sharing a great video ill be subscribing and watching more
Well done.......lovely video........you are definitely at peace with nature. After your video you have inspired me to try.....I would love to go on a hiking trip to this beautiful area. Please make more video's and Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Lovely video Steve, will be noting that spot for a future wild camp, looked isolated and peaceful, love the grouse calling or should i say the grouse telling us to clear off ha ha. Atb Bill.
Walking wivdogs That's why I like it there. It is very quiet, you can't see any man-made signs anywhere apart from and odd radio mast and of course the planes! Cheers, Steve.
some amazing footage mate, makes me wish I lived closer to the national parks as much as I love Kent. Hope to get to Dartmoor and Peak District this year again though :)
Kent Survival I know. We think of England as being small, but it's a hell of a drive to get to the 'wilder' places! I'd love to travel to Scotland more. Cheers, Steve.
There are a few nice spots around there, that is one of the nearest. There is Rocking Stones or Horse Stone Naze or even further is Grinah Stones if you have time to walk there on a winters day? Steve.
Great stuff Steve..great area up on that ridge,i was up there a few week back, followed the river derwent up from the head of howden to swains head & followed back along howden edge to crow stones edge.had a snap stop at the rocking stone, been up there a few times & i must say it's probably one of my fave view points & a camp there is on the cards at some point. Nice relaxed vid & some great camera work especially with the grouse & mountain hare, the hare seem to be doing well in that area.Always nice in winter to get some snow down on a camp & it sempt a nice calm morning too.great stuff mate tfs.atb..Andy.
Cracking video steve.. Just like everyone else has mentioned your footage of the wildlife is fantastic and i also dont know how you have time to catch it all on camera in just a one nighter on the hills. Lol Keep doing the videos steve they are very inspirational, cheers.
Mr Fraz Out&About Thanks. I treat my zoom camera as binoculars, it slows the hike down but worth it to look back on my trips. Thanks for watching. Steve.
Crafty Veggie hey steve if youre ever up colne lancashire way give me a shout if you fancy some company....weve lad law on boulsworth hill or the forest of bowland!
Brilliant Steve. Reminds me of the Cheviots. That b&w shot of the tent in the snow was spot on. I had a night at Haweswater last week blue sky and warm when I set up woke up to a whiteout, loved it Hope your well. ATB Chris.
acedecss That's the good thing about the hills, no two days are the same, I love the mist first thing (better still when it burns off in the heat!) Steve.
What a lovely outting!.. although winter camping in our climate would result in not such a pleasant experience, -46C with the wind chill today. Looks like you got a good helping of food for the soul.. Cheers, BB
Crikey Steve, you walked for miles, I always look forward to your videos you're in my top 5 of favorite TH-camrs, so informative, beautifully filmed, presented and edited, such a chilled out none rushed vibe. I got so excited when I saw the notification pop up. Just stunning scenery and landscapes. The tent blended in so well with the frost & snow, looked like part of the landscape. You live in, or near a fantastic part of the world I'm so jealous. Pasta for breakfast, Nothing wrong with that. Your rucksack is massive, is it a 60 + 10? Cheers Steve. Lee
Burton Outdoors Many thanks, im eased you like them. Yes it's a 60 litre, although I pack it light. Mainly tent and sleeping bag with a little food and a cooking kit. It was mainly spare and warm clothing. I guess it would weigh around 10kg in winter? Cheers, Steve.
Great video. My old 'stomping' grounds out there usually in similar weather too. Where you camped is right by where someone found a 76mm AP tank shell not many years ago. Quite a few turn up every year. Gave you a sub too
Red Ferret Adventures That's a coincidence, I was talking to someone on the way back (a park ranger) who said he found a large shell at Bull Clough Head, I wonder if it was the same guy? Steve.
Crafty Veggie maybe so. Back in the day I helped deal with several finds in the area. There was a wartime gunnery range at Upper Midhope so stuff frequently turns up around Pike Low, Margery Hill and on Outer Edge. I also know of an 18lb live shrapnel shell turning up on Dukes Drive. The entire area was used heavily during both wars and the history is fascinating. Thanks for the sub by the way. My channel is very much a work in progress. Look forward to your next video too

Thank you. Steve.
Really enjoyed this and loved your still shots. Do you have links to this area?

something mystical about the snow.
Very nice, can I ask what camera did you use to capture in the photo stills night shots? Thanks for sharing ATB Yorkie

Great video. What is the white line in the star shot at 18:19? shooting star? not sure..?
