Big Voltron fan. Really cool knives for 20 Dollars. I like the first one but I am not in the draw. Still waiting on the South African postal service. Awesome video as always. Thank you Gary.
Thanks for the review. Looking at images of these knives on other sites I was way off. I had a totally different opinion. This video gave me a good view of these knives. Thanks to this review, I plan to go ahead and get one or both of these knives. Thanks for the review.
those are both interesting knives, not sure about that blue back-spacer like you said. agree that would have to be dyed. thanks for the opportunity to maybe win Gary, appreciated as always, wishing you all the best & a great weekend !
#notanentry Holy cr4p, I use to Love Voltron and any giant robot shows for that matter, so I was shocked when I saw the title. Can't believe they have the lions stamped into the blades too, awesome. I'd say they're absolutely above gas station blades. I thought they were different color back spacers at first to represent the different colored lions on the team. Fun fact about that show, is that even though the robots were lions, the roars were that of tigers. Thanks for reminding me of that show. Be safe.
I really like that grind on the first one. Makes it look kinda tantoish...without being a tanto exactly. No idea if they are a copy of anything or not. I know some of the Eafengrow ummm do borrow heavy shall we say but seem like a good value.
I have been directed to them. They used to be very much copies. Supposedly they are now doing there own designs. Have never heard of Voltran knives. They do look big and brutish which is what I like.
Hello Gary, almost all knives that are made in the Far East (for example Real Steel, Sanrenmu, Kubey, Aubey, Kizer, Civivi, Geo, Eafengrow ... and so on) are of very good quality. And most of the above are also very inexpensive. Many traditional manufacturers will have a hard time in the future. The giveaway is a great thing from you👍😊. The same applies to me as we noticed yesterday ... shipping is unfortunately not worth it. But good luck to all participants 🍀. Greetings and have a nice Sunday Joe
Amazon keeps trying to get me to look at that brand too. Not a giveaway entry.. spin again! Still enjoying the heck out of the Sencut Actium from a few weeks back! Have fun with that Finch next week... the bone inlay is classy too.
hmmm, i have been into the knife thing since the 1990s, and i say Eafengrow is high quality. on par with Sanrenmu, Sitivien, Ganzo, Firebird, Freetiger, and many more.
Looks very cheep. Blade material 9cr18mov stainless which is 430 stainless steel. has good resistance to a wide variety of corrosive enviornments, including nitric acid and some organic acids. It attains its maximum corrosion resistance when in the highly polished or buffed condition. In general its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is close to that of grade 304. Good for rust resistance, but it will not hold sharp edge at all.
A couple of nice boat anchors :) The one issue (and its a big one for me) with Eafengrow knives is that they are putting a lot of knives out there with falsely advertised steels. Stuff they claim is S35VN that is really 7CR and similar issues. Watch some of LuvThemKnives steel test videos. He's caught them enough times that I just won't buy an Eafengrow... ever. Please don't include me in the giveaway, but it sure is nice of you to do a giveaway in the first place :)
Yeah I felt like I should give these away just because of their rep. Yeah I like how LTK gives the results. I don’t think EF has ever told the truth about steel?
Supposedly they have corrected the steel issue. I don't know the name, but, a guy on YT has been checking their steel & has identified incorrect listings in the past. The head of Eafengrow got involved (kicked some butt) & promised it wouldn't happen again. The YT guy started checking their releases after his statement & found every one to be listed correctly. They do a lot of D2 & YT guy said the new releases were definitely D2. It seems they have cleaned up their act & there are others checking each release, so, there's that. I have about 7 Eafengrow & find the quality to be well above their selling price.
Sorry...I watched your video last night but couldn't comment till now. Please watch batch numbers 8,9 or 10 where he sends knives away for testing both blade make up and HCR. The Eafengrows for quite a while have misrepresented their blade stock. In one of his videos I named he did 2 or 3 oof their knives and all failed. Please give them a look. I don't mind copying another knife but lying about their steel is another thing.
Look at his Batch 28 video. I just discovered an EF knife that sorta looks the a cross between both knives. It an EF6, and the too I have are EF5 and EF15. The test results were negative for even 9cr18mov. 😬
@@TheLastRanger apparently he talked to the owner and the owner said he was misled by his supplier. He told LTK that he would insure all new knives were as stated but his knives that were already on the market he would let them sell down then replace with the correct ones. I think he has done that but it 50/50 whether you get old stock or new. I love the look of those knives you got. I may try to get them. Stay safe.
I like the second one, kinda reminds me of a kukri with the recurve and curved handle. I'd love to enter the giveaway if you send to Singapore :). If not, that's also ok. Thanks for the review and giveaway!
If you win I will send it anywhere. But knives have been taking 3 and 4 months international. I sent 2 knives to South Africa and they still haven’t arrive after 2 to 3 months. It does look like a Kukri! 👍🏻
I've not ever heard much in the way of good things about them...Be interested to handle one myself. I think 'Amazon knives' are a step above 'Gas Station knives'...lol
the first blade definitely has a compound grind. eafengrow's notoriety is never being accurate about what their claimed blade steel was. they failed every time. then their CEO got on people's channels to make good and correct that failing. as for clones, they always called their knives by their own knife. if they're inspired by other knife designs, that's a slippery slope, since most knives are inspired by other ones...
They must hate Luv Them Knives because he exposes them a lot. 😂 If they were all you could afford these two seem better than the typical gas station knives. I’ll cut the company some slack on these, if indeed they are direct copies of a much better knife I have a problem with that. I think they at the most are probably just inspired. 🤔
Luvthemknives has done quite a few vids on the brand and in his steel test vids old ones generally haven’t been what they say but the owner said there trying to fix it so he’s still going to be doing more tests to see when old stuff wash’s out/if they start being all what they say

Good review, Nice way of doing this, you’re the Bob Ross of knives😉 Thnx!
Thanks 👍
I actually love eafengrow. They make some really decent knives. I’m in and thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching and good luck! I think they do too. 👍🏻
I like the profile of the first. Reminds me of the Hinderer “spanto” blades

Man I still have my fingers crossed for both knives reaching you unmolested by customs. 🤞🏻
Me too. Have a good week.
I had a friend at worked that carried one of their knives and liked his.
They’re are decent, seems to be well made knives for the price. 👍🏻
Nice looking blades, wonder how the steel and heat treat is?
I can’t find hardly no information on the knives. 👍🏻
I own two of them and I've never had any problem with them; good solid knives for the money.
I agree they seemed like it. I gave them away to someone in Canada. Canadian customs stole them. 🤦🏼

Awesome blades
That’s a really awesome knife to have

From what read, Voltron is a sister company of EF in China. Some Chinese companies don’t care that much who they get their ideas from I think. 😂
Good review really nice knives
Thanks for watching! Take care! 👍🏻

Not bad in person. I gave them away. But Canadian customs decided to keep them for themselves. 😂
Those are nice knives for $20 not bad at all! They are much bigger then the finch!
Yeah both are huge and heavy. 😂👍🏻

oh it's beautiful knifes. i love blade shape of second knife!
It looks like a mini Kukri👍🏻

I haven’t tried an Eafengrow. They look pretty good, though.
The four I’ve receive so far are good. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
@@TheLastRanger Well, dang. I’ll quit chasing them on eBay. Thanks.
@@skcamerican I meant to say bad ass as in good. For some reason the ass dropped off. 😂 sorry bud I corrected it to good.
@@TheLastRanger okay - I’ll keep chasing them. :)
I have about 20 eafengrow and they're all good quality. Check out the eafengrow ef908
There is no doubt, the four I own were quality. I have one I haven’t shown because it’s clearly a clone.
@@TheLastRanger I have a few that are clones as well. I can't afford the real ones . I'm a poor boy lol
That’s exactly why I purchased the clone of a Strider knife. 🤟🏻🍀

When you got these knives out before the video you mixed up the boxes. The EF5 is the one you called the EF15 and vice versa...smdh
