    Cheap knives can be great, you just have to know which ones to buy. Stay away from silly looking over the top designs (Skulls, snakes, dragons, weird blade designs, etc) The more traditional and ergonomic designs are usually the best. MTech, Tac Force, and Elk Ridge offer some good quality knives for the money

    For me I don't care where something is made as long as it's good value and not exploiting workers

    • @zachfrender9130
      @zachfrender9130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well they are probably exploting workers

      @@zachfrender9130 I think if that was the case wouldnt be just buy made in America but buy a lot less cuz it's more expensive? I dunno. Quality wise I don't have any complaints about stuff made in China. I think they're pretty good at making stuff having done it for so long now.

      @@meteora8888 The quality is good most of the time but the problem is the workers are bieng exploited. Even so buying stuff from china is usually the way to go.

    I bought it for $8 on sale at Big 5 Sporting Goods, and I told myself I was going to use it to open packages.

    I have an early design Mtech. It's roughly 25 years old. I think I sharpened it twice. Otherwise, it holds an edge. I've had to tighten up a few screws, but since then, it's been solid. The cross lock is amazing! Once the blade is out, it's like a fixed blade. There is no give whatsoever in any direction. I use this this to open boxes on a daily basis, but also as a screwdriver and sometimes a prybar. Some people think it's intimidating. I call those people idiots. It's a tool. Shut it.

      I once lent it to a "mechanical engineer" who was helping me unbox and setup monitors for executive staff. I was a bit dumfounded when he couldn't figure out how to close it. I had to show him how a cross lock works, and he gave me this surprised look, like it never occurred to him at all. Yeah, some degree.

    Mtechs non zombie/crazy designs are pretty decent. Their g10 ball bearing are very nice for the price.

    There was a website advertising that larger knife for free, in all black, just pay shipping. It is marketed as a tactical knife. It's okay for temporary carry because it's a bit large for EDC. The glass breaker/seat belt cutter make it a good vehicle blade to have on hand.

    Might be a dumb question but how exactly do you close the knife?

    • @KingKsEDC

      1 is a liner in between the scales (handle) the other is framelock so the handle itself.

    Great review man. I have the constitution knife and it's grate for an every day carry type knife. I dont have a carrier where I use a knife for anything to rough but it works well for what I do and it looks grate too. The only thing I don't like about this knife is the finish on the silver part where it looks like a circle around a point. My issue with this is that on a similar cheap knife this finish is easily damaged and gets a few dints after a bit of use. This knife works good for a cheap carry knife for common tasks but I use a smith and wesson black ops knife for my beater knife for when I go camping and things like it because this knife is just the type where u don't want to destroy too much bc it looks so good. Anyway good video and I love your input on this brand.

    Thank you for the review. I'm looking at some Mtechs like the Rough Ryders. OK for collectors but not hard use knives. Cutting open packages, maybe some cardboard, practicing mods. I'm buying an Mtech machete for fatwood processing. I'm really loving the We The People knife as a civil rights investigator. Ask the Cuomo brother how good I am at my job. LOL They messed with the wrong military brat daughter of a Native American #Navy #Special Forces instructor #CodeBreaker Anyway, I'm digging the knives for collector pieces. I'm liking a lot of their fixed blades, too.

    You can get a really good knife for 20-30 dollars. These are complete junk unless you want a showpiece. Waste of money. If you want a utility/work knife buy a folding kobalt utility razor knife or a Milwaukee fastback razor knife. I use mine more than anything and if you mess up the blade you replace it. They only cost 8-12 dollars.
