They've done it with 8cr13mov as well. Although I have personally seen one(not this model, the ef55) tested and come back as D2. So I'm not sure what they're doing.
@@CNYKnifeNerd thanks for doing that. It's made to me used so i think its better anyway. Can be sharpened easily. I got mine yesterday. Hit the blade on a 🪛 up and down the blade( mine didn't come too sharp) to see how tough it was. Saw some small dulling but still cut paper pretty good. Then sharpened it, and now it's much sharper. So I think this will be my heavy user and keep my A10 in the knife case. My little Kershaw cyro is 8cr and i love it. Use it and forget it. Strop as needed. ✌🏼🦁
My first impression was that it looks like a knife the creature from the Black Lagoon would sport. A few years ago you’d be talking several hundred dollars for that piece.
Tried to find words what it remembers but I think you have the point. :) For me the first what came in my mind was the look of the Nautilus (animal) shell's curves, patterns inside. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/08/NautilusCutawayLogarithmicSpiral.jpg
I've bought several Chinese knives in that price range within the last few years. For the most part, I'm very happy with them. Although I'm not sure I believe the specs on the blade steel and Titanium content. The Chinese have always been less than truthful in that area.
That edge looks like it would be able to get amazingly sharp for how thick the bevel is and even it looks pretty even . I like it has a milled clip . I ll bet if you tried to buy that milled clip somewhere it would be $50 ?
Good question. 👍 I just got mine yesterday. Mine was dirty (coffee) and dull. I sharpened it and cleaned it. Now i feel better about it. Might keep it as part of my rotation if the blade is r8. I guess it's a good steel to beat on and strop when needed. ✌🏼🦁
@@leodegas7731 it came dull dull ? Sorry man . That always sucks . Most of the Ef s I ve recd r sharp and clean . Ganzo s too . Only one had a real hard detent. Have you tried the ganzo 720 ? @@Hungrybird474 😆😆😆 Yes i bought two of the 720's I have 17 ganzos and about 5 or 6 eafengrows. There was some good deals that i just got, but i looked at Amazon and the sale was over. A kizer Gurru that is normally $160 but i got it for $90 on sale. I think now that blade show is over, there will be some great deals. I'm kind of burnt out. I just got my Reate mimi crossfire and this eafangrow and I'm tapped. 😆😆😆Just bought alot of camping gear and a small carbon fiber guitar to go camping and hiking. I plan on taking my A10 Cold steel. If you haven't bought one, you have to add the A10 or recon 4 to your collection. So much fun to watch Netflix with. As for the ganzo and all my knives, i take them apart and set them up the way i like. With the gonzo, once you sand the sharp edges on the scales, it becomes a expensive feeling knife. Im not a TH-camr, but you can see part of my collection on my channel. Be blessed and have a great weekend. ✌🏼🦁
Seems original to me with all the details, don't think anybody doesone like that. Looks amazing but a little too heavy. Was curious if you could use your thumb to open it with the texture on the blade? Nice review.
Hey Carter. Are you ready to part with your ram scale switch blade yet? For Microtech Troodon limited signature series carbon fiber scale Stonewash Hell hound blade? Cash? Nice looking blade. Lmk . Aloha
Nice knife but I'm not going to buy anymore knives made in China, at least not knowingly. I'm aware most products are manufactured there but I feel China makes no effort to support American companies so in my small way I'm going return the favor.
Lots of these companies start off making clones and then upgrade to making their own designs. I believe even Kizer and Twosun started off like that. It’s how the Chinese makers make their first money to start up production. I don’t like it either, but man do these guys end up making quality stuff for cheap after a while.
Eafengrow D2 is usaly not real D2. THey make great beater knife/truck knife. There is a TH-camr that tests knife steels and has a list of all his tested knifes on a google doc. I think its Luvthemknives or somthing like that . he might have a test of that one posted.
He tested ef knives as good . Also said ch makes them for ef . Not a bad knife for the price but I’m getting tired of buying Chinese knives so this is the last one . It’s also taking over a month to get here , one more week and should be here
Yes, this will be my last eafengrow. I think I will keep mine. Mine seemed used. Coffee or something on scale and clothe. But i Will keep buying ganzo's. Great quality in their smooth action. Just sand down the little rough edges on their $20 and below knives and you have a gerrrrate knife. I just got my Reate mini crossfire? A good feeling knife (grown up fidget spinner) is a good knife no matter who makes it. I'm not going to cry for the big companies, because they use the Chinese manufacturers too. Sencut for we knives. And Spyderco is doing it too. We just got to spread the love ( our cash) around and buy from Cold Steel as well as the the ganzos of the world. That's just how i see it. My first knife was a vintage Loveless, so i think i have done my part to buy American. And broke two piggy banks 🤣🤣🤣. ✌🏼🦁
Looking at your thumb you ve been flipping and checking edges .😂. Right ? Can’t sign it to the iPad with the thumbprint over here . Looks like it should be several hundred dollars ? How do they make this and sell for $70 ? I heard CH knives makes eafengrows , sitiviens , lots of others . Ch knives makes good knives
they always lie about blade steels.....when they say d2 it's a lie. 5cr15. you think they would take the time and tooling to mill that into a hardened d2 blade lol.
I ve never seen a knife like this anywhere .
Great too see the vids coming back brother!!! Hopefully more
Looks like a Rexford, a Ritter Grip and a Koenig Arias has a weird love child
Can’t believe your back! So awesome. I watched you years ago and you do the best reviews. Good to see you back at it. Cheers 🍻
