In their trade for power, the Republicans lost control of their party to Trump and the far-right of their base of voters. And the Democrats have yet to fully come to terms with how and why Hillary Clinton lost.
In this episode of Fault Lines, we examine the loss of identity of both the GOP and Democrats and look at what their strategies for rebuilding mean for the country’s future.

It's brilliant that US politics and all they involve have been stirred up and questioned, inevitably this will upset a lot of people who considered their place in the system unquestionable and secure. Why shouldn't this happen, many ordinary people face chaos and disruption when they lose their jobs, get divorced and so on, why should those who consider themselves part of the establishment be immune? Unfortunately most of the media has missed this it being too involved with itself or perhaps they consider themselves part of the establishment too.
