      @@ZekkoFootball i honestly am, it was frustrating me how eddie was keeping him on the bench for so long when there was games where he could make a massive impact, thankfully eddie did the right thing and finally started him against city.

    Gordon was immense and relentless. Since the start of the season he wasnt himself. And i am glad that coinciding with rumoured the contract extension, we saw the Gordon that we know, finally. Absolutely immense

    Excellent breakdown..particularly Joelinton's role which has gone over some people's heads. That "Back 5" did well to repel most of City's advances, had it not been for Trippier's dive before that Gvardiol goal Newcastle might have nicked all 3 points.

    City only slipped through the toon system once, when they scored. Dan Burn had Haaland in his back pocket the whole game.

    We've been using this set up all season, not just for the city game. It is nice that someone's finally noticed though as the usual pundits and commentators haven't mentioned it yet. To be fair they're too busy talking through their rectums about all the alleged boardroom turmoil and how we're going to lose all our best players to the "bigger" clubs, to actually bother analysing our tactics.

    All these comments like we were back to the wall, park the bus, sneak a win etc, the reality is Man City played the "dark arts" that they complained about last week, time wasting and falling over every opportunity with the ref not habing control, Toon offered more threat, created better chances, atguably could have had a second penalty and were solid defensively.
    We were good value for the draw and probably the most likely to win

    • @ZekkoFootball
      @ZekkoFootball  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I completely agree, especially in that second half when the crowd really got into it, the players felt that and upped the tempo a good 15-20%. They were well worth the draw and as you say, could well have won it.

    Is there a blue print on defending and counter transitioning against City here Arsenal nearly did it with 10 men and cheated a lot carrying no threat offensively after they went down to 10 men so point is it’s the defensive set up that other sides will also eventually suss😊

    • @ZekkoFootball
      @ZekkoFootball  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think there is definitely something to it, yeah. The defensive transition to stop those extra runs being made seems to be stifling City, but I'm sure that Pep will also know this and will come up with another setup of play. So I guess we will see, will be very interesting.
