    Nice video! 👍looks like the windscreen has rain repellent, the area not swiped by the wiper looks clearer. what do you think?
    At 14:03 he adds power, is it because he is controlling rate of descent with power? Many pilots do except when they 'retard' at 20 feet(ATR). Auto pilots control descent with pitch and speed(auto throttle) with power. I once heard "Power when Available and Variable controls speed". Controlling speed with power allows the aircraft to enter ground effect with speed bleeding off, resulting in shorter landings. What do you think?

    • @AV868
      @AV868  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, no rain repellent lol.
      He added power to control the rate of descent, this is commonly done with variable winds during the phase of flight.
      The ATR doesn't have an auto throttle and this approach was manually flown.

      @@AV868 thanks for responding, the way the water was beading it looked like the windscreen had rain repellent...in my early days at Liat(twin otter/avro/dash8) and even later at Caribbean star I don't ever remember using wipers.
      I was using the autopilot as a reference...who doesn't want to fly as smooth as an autopilot...
