As a black man, this annoys the hell out of me. I'm so sick and tired of people posting things like this without context. The second I saw this initially on Instagram, I've come to the point these days where my first response is always... "what's the context?" or "what's the full story?". Thanks Donut for breaking the ACTUAL story down. Not all of us black folk are out here ready to play the race card or shove all that woke nonsense in everyone's face. As far as what happened here, I can't believe this guy was a teacher?! :O

Good for you for looking at the whole picture. I fought one guy into handcuffs and ended up with my need too close to the spine. As soon as I noticed, I moved (just for context, he was uninjured). That cop probably didn't realize where his elbow was. Good to have others there with you. I was by myself.

@Cdog Thehedgehog You just went to another extreme. OP said that the officer was giving the man/suspect a chance and was very relaxed with him when he already had probable cause to arrest him. The suspect was never tackled to the ground or anything like that, no excessive force. And if you think that the taser was excessive force, he was told more than 10 times he was getting tased and kept going, meanwhile knowing he had drugs in his system. It was a good arrest.
There can be a middle ground, you know? Maybe Americans aren't used to that anymore...

we have instances like this in australia too, ive seen clips of aboriginal heritage being arrested for something theyve done wrong and will continuously scream and call for help acting like the police are targeting them or being unfair. one video i saw on the youtube channel police vision australia had a police officer put someone under arrest at their door due to allegations of harassing a neighbor and after that the mans sister came to the door and started verbally harassing the officer so he put her under arrest too and she went into the house grabbed a knife and stabbed the officer in the hand. other police ran in and put them both in cuffs and the sister kept screaming shit like "you fucking dogs" and "I'll fucking kill you" only to start screaming stuff like "i suffer I'm aboriginal I've done nothing wrong" and calling for help. its a fucking shame

@Hourglas they could blame the cops all they want but it won't get them anywhere, cops can legally watch a person get gangraped and they aren't required to intervene. They can even cut perpetrators lose if they deem it necessary to calm a situation. Go read Warren v DC and all the underlying cases. Cops aren't required to serve or protect anyone. They did exactly what I recommend in the 70s and 80s, by the time the 1990s rolled around even the congressional black caucus voted to basically make it illegal to be black, which made the streets so peaceful that people forgot how wild hoodrats can be. The only way to remind them, is to allow them to terrorize the people who live around them until they beg for help.

So you have 2 choices to support:
      1. Stop banning drugs, let people make their own decision for good or bad
      2. Ban drugs, take away choice from people and if anyone disagrees with your arbitrary ban they go to jail or get killed, which is the inevitable end for any State action.

But business and education was always been in the other's hands
The wealth also transferred, down especially in today's society and black people also don't give back to their community, nor does the black on black crime help, and then you're a monkey in a cage waiting to fade but that's a joke for the others as its own, but eh that's if you don't get wrongfully killed but yeah this "God's love is like a parent's love", but in the absence of a black parent and in a self-devouring community i can see why all the hassle is being raised,
Whether or not bad or good ,they kill us favorably as a joke in their heads and as we see meaningless killing the more real easy interchangeable as they become nothing more than a memory, so really all the killings to me looks alot like primates killing primates and they die off like bacteria,

My dad was born in Louisiana in 1939 - he knew how to behave with Southern California cops, they are sweet little kittens compared to the folks he grew up with in the Deep South. He was arrested by Compton PD (when they still had a police department) in the mid-80s because of a misunderstanding. He said yes ma’am and no sir, didn’t lift a finger to resist, and was uneventfully escorted to jail. Heck, they even picked up a burger and fries for him since it was too late for a regular jail meal. Yep it's comical to watch twitter morons say this is police brutality and racism when the cops were doing everything within their power to make the guy feel comfortable and not escalate things. There's only so many times you can tell someone to stop putting themselves and others into dangerous situations aka running around on the road where there is traffic and impeding traffic as a result before you have to use force to get them to comply. The cop wasn't jumping on him or being rude or mean in any way the entire time, he just kept telling him to stay out of the road. He even told the guy he can stand on the sidewalk if he feels comfortable cuz he wanted people to "see him."
This is just a clear case of a guy who was trying to create another George Floyd situation (which was real and bad) but ended up getting a taste of reality which is most cops are nice and good people but they still have to make sure you aren't putting yourself or others in danger and that you are abiding by the law. They're called Law Enforcement Officers for a reason.

#1 thing to do when you see something big or shocking in the news: Don't go on your first assumption, research and ask questions and try to find as much info about it that you can. There's nothing wrong with realizing you have a bias, the worst thing you can do is lie to yourself like a lot of people do and just believe whatever they hear from 1 news source and that's it.

What I want to know is how news outlets and personalities can get away with saying the man was "tased to death"? He died in the hospital 4 hours after being tasered while he was speedballing due to "medical complications." There was clearly a toxicology report but was an autopsy performed/made public; if so, was the taser the primary cause of death? - I highly doubt it. I'm curious if the department would have grounds to sue for libel?
