I do not believe you are correct. Not in one’s home at least. While traveling firearms must be in a locked container or in the trunk of the car. You cannot use the glovebox or center console and you cannot transport a loaded firearm.

I'm a GM guy but Jesus Christ if those OBS Fords weren't great looking both inside and out. I'd love to have an F-250 or F-350 with the 7.3 IDI, a stick shift, and manual transfer case. Those nonturbo mechanical diesel engines weren't powerful and sounded like a bag of gravel being rolled down a hill, but the fact that they were used in every school bus in the 80's and 90's and most of those buses are still rolling the same old bag of gravel around on a bumfuck nowhere single lane road near you either still in service transporting kids to the barely educational kid jail or as Billy Joe Jim Bob's neighbor's cousin's brother's uncle's RV conversion says quite a bit about their reliability.

I do not believe you are correct. Not in one’s home at least. While traveling firearms must be in a locked container or in the trunk of the car. You cannot use the glovebox or center console and you cannot transport a loaded firearm.
@@Capt620 I had a CCW in CA before I left there three years ago, I remember the transit laws, I kind of recall the safe storage laws. Maybe it was just an over paranoid feeling since everything else is illegal.

The laws in California can definitely make you feel paranoid even thought you aren’t doing anything wrong or don’t think you are doing anything wrong. It can be overwhelming for sure.
@@Capt620 I just looked it up, CA does have safe storage laws. Also, with a CCW the only time transit laws don't apply is when its on you. If you aren't carrying, but have it in the car, like maybe going to the range, then it still has to be in the locked container, unloaded.

We are having this discussion because you said the owner of the stolen firearm may get in trouble too. The owner of the firearm has no legal obligation to lock his firearm in his home (given there’s no children present) so it being stolen by a adult would not land him in any legal trouble.
