Shalom Aleichem. As a retired mechanic on disability I always like to check these sites out for any changes in R&R procedures. This is straight up and no problem. Tech tip, always wire brush the thread's on the bolts and anti-seize them. Also after cleaning the wire ends I like to add some dialectic grease to cut down on corrosion. Same on battery post's. Good video. Ratson haba b'shem YaHuah
I have a 4wd Ford Ranger. All these videos of the explorers, I assume, brought some ranger folks here as the 4.0 sohc came in both models. For those wondering: the starter gets jammed between the diff and oil pan. When this happens, there is a bolt to hold the diff from going up and down. It takes a 13mm, loosen it. I took the front drive shaft off as well. Hope this helps
Shalom Aleichem. I'm a retired mechanic on disability an I've always removed the positive wire from the battery not the negative when replacing any electrical component because if I touch any negative surface with a positive wire from any component it'd short out! So disconnecting a positive wire from the battery makes more sense in my opinion. Ratson haba b'shem YaHuah
Let me tell ya folks this is nothing like what he’s doing!!!! It’s not even close to that easy!!! That has to be a 1970 model with nothing under the hood!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t know what year that is but you are not getting to those wires from the top on my explorer!!! They are buried!!! You can’t even see the starter unless you crawl up under there.
Just so every one knows I have the 02 explorer xlt 4.6 this video is wrong there's 3 bolts on the starter,I actually ended up breaking the old starter thinking there was only 2 bolts
dude you seem to have actually cut off part of the bodywork and taken out the engine to get to the starter.. how on earth do you get to it from above like that? bogus fakery going on here
Idk who you think you or ur brand is but this is clearly a 14mm vs a 13 my dude smh. Just trying to save someone else from the wrong you put me on smh...

Good instructions once you got to the starter but you never showed how and where you get to this very difficult to access part.

My mechanic says that you disconnect the positive of the battery not the negative because you'll get sparks

Your location guide was horrible in this video it was great showing the nuts but you never showed what position you went in to get to this😊
V6 or V8?
+@harrycash8713 The part in this vehicle fits either model depending on your vehicle information.
If you want to help tell people the right size. Otherwise you fall into a scam. End of story.
