God, I love this video!!! We just finished watching the truck load of logs you had delivered video. Had to watch this again. One of your best videos ever my friend!!!
Thanks ES! Yeah I'll be honest I don't have one, not yet anyways. I do have a block that I forgot to load up that morning, so I didn't necessarily set myself up for an easy load of the firewood after I cut it all down. I appreciate you watching!
My friend, you are living the dream!!! We loved this video!!! Another video of yours that I will add to the list of videos to watch over and over!!! There had to be a zillion trees in that opening shot with the morning haze. I am not sure if that is haze, low level cloud cover or what but WOW, what a cool shot!!! I can't tell if that is snow on the trees or just frost, but it looks incredible. The green, the white, the Fall colors, the cloud cover. That is my definition of Heaven on earth. The drone flies forward, trails your truck, and flies backwards, man it looks like you have a Hollywood production staff on your team!!! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME drone shots!!! That was the best 1:09 on YT!!! My Mom said you were the best Filmer, editor, director, and about 9 other things I cannot remember. 😊 Love the alpine mountain coffee stirrer!!! If those are actually clouds, I am going to fall over. In some shots, it looks like you are at a pretty high altitude. OMG, that is so cool!!! I am a huge fan of STIHL!!! That is one of the first things I plan to get when I get out there. It looks like it has gotten a lot of love over the years!!! Holy cow, how did you even find that tree!!! I watched you walking, and I said, there is no way he is going to cut down that tree, it is on the side of a steep hill. It would be impossible to get that back up the hill and back to the truck!!! Watching your videos, you always frame the shot perfectly and I said, holy cow, he IS going to cut that tree down. Once again, INSANE drone work!!!! The colors and the scenery are absolutely jaw dropping!!! I have watched enough videos that I “THINK” I could cut down a tree, but I would NEVER have tackled that one. WOW, that looked SO COOL!!! We loved the POV and then the drone shot cut in to give perspective!!! Oh, that was so freaking cool!!!! I don't know what to say!!! I thought for sure that sucker was going to slide down the mountain, but it did not go very far. My guess is you have done this once or twice before 😁. Looking at that tree on the ground reminded me of a saying I tell people when it comes to tackling a big project. I ask them, “how do you eat an elephant?” … one bite at a time. 😊 Talk about divide and conquer!!! You crushed it!!! I think Milwaukee is going to steal your idea and come out with an 18-inch limb ruler. 😊 What a simple, but effective way to mark the tree!!! You made short work of that larch!!! If I ever did that, I would have sent the video to everyone in my family, printed out commemorative tee shirts, and declared bragging rights for the next century. I would be a rock star!!! OMG, there had to be 30 sections there!!! My spine is aching just thinking about carrying that back to the truck!!! Those had to weigh close to 50 pounds each. Luckily you had Lolly there. I am sure she did most of the heavy lifting. 😉 I am guessing you got your workout done for the day!!! It also looks like the gym you and Tessa built has paid dividends!!! Camera, drone, and music second to none, as usual!!! The video was incredible, and you didn't speak!!! How is that possible!!! There was no need. Your videography (not sure that is a real word 😊) told the story!!! That shot at the 7:09 mark gives great perspective. That mountain is STEEP!!! I am guessing you only had one drone out there and I have no idea how it was filming everything so well, including the overhead shot of you carrying the log to the truck. Great job editing everything!!! Also, great job planning everything out!!! Looks like Lolly was along your side the entire time!!! I have no idea how long that took, but I am guessing that had to take 4-5 hours, if not more. Holy cow!!! That sweat equity will come in handy this winter and I am sure those logs will be extra warm!!! Hopefully you guys will be set for the winter. That firewood you got from the person clearing the lot earlier this year really came in handy. Hopefully the firewood stand is raking in the $$$. If I have to drive a hundred miles, we are going to buy firewood from your stand!!! What an outstanding video!!! Very cool! Loved the different style!!! 5 stars across the board!!! You have come a long way from the handwritten signs 😉!!! Be well and stay safe!!!
Yes!! I was hoping you guys would enjoy this video. I didn't even need firewood, but I was so thrilled to get out there that day. Lots and lots of trees can be found in this neck of the woods! That is 100% just some low cloud cover. It really added to the views! I had seen some posts online before going out that snow was up there, and to my surprise it was mostly just on the trees and it made for some truly beautiful shots. Tell your mom I said thank you for the nice comments! So the elevation there was approximately 4,100'. I assume that probably seems high fore some folks! I am a Stihl fan myself! That chainsaw is actually my Dad's. That's the one I grew up to him using to cut firewood for our family when I was younger. My other chainsaw is currently out of commission, but it's small and I've really put it through the ringer these last couple of years! I'm hoping that my credit card rewards points will earn me enough for a gift card somewhere to buy a new saw next summer! Those things aren't cheap! I have had my eye on that tree for quite awhile actually!! That area is where I've been cutting firewood for the last couple of years, and so I've come to know it pretty well. I made a recent YT Short on another tree I cut down recently that I believe you saw, and that one was about 100 yards from this one. People never seem to want to cut down trees that are downhill (I partly see why 😂), but I'll put in the extra effort it may take if the tree is of that quality. I was unloading the rounds from my truck yesterday, and one actually split in half just from dropping it on the ground. No rot, perfectly dry, and it didn't even have to cure. I took those two halves and threw it in the fire, and they burned for about five hours alone! That tree was definitely kind of a pain, and judging by its lean I decided to fell it downhill just to play it safe. I probably could have cabled it, and pulled it uphill with my truck, but again it felt safest for my skill set to tip it downhill. I have successfully pulled trees up to the road before, but typically that requires a block (pulley) to hook a cable to and pull it in the direction that I want it to go. However, guess who forgot to load up the block that morning? This guy right here! Trying to pull trees uphill with a cable and a truck is usually impossible without one because the tree either A.) gets pulled sideways and gets caught/jammed on stumps and brush, or B.) will just roll and drag sideways or sidehill and never actually make it up the road. It's all dependent on the situation I suppose. Haha I will definitely say I wasn't expecting the tree to slide as much as it did. I may have mumbled a curse word or two under my breath when I realized it slid about 50' down the hill. I like the eating an elephant analogy (or metaphor)! I did try to pull the tree up with a cable for over an hour off camera actually, but I realized it may just be faster if I put in the work and hike the rounds up. Ha! I'll take a Milwaukee Sponsor! It's a pretty easy way to mark your tree in my opinion. I will say that cutting the rounds on that steep slope was difficult. My cuts didn't come out as straight as I would've liked them to! Yeah the tree was a pretty easy drop! There was about six feet or so of rot mixed in at the base of it. I also knew I was racing a drone battery to get it fully cut down! 30 rounds was just about right! I think in total I did about 28 trips. I was exhausted to be honest... and I may have left five or six of the smaller rounds up there. It's driving me nuts too, and I may just drive up there today or tomorrow to go get them depending on snow of course. I was trying to tell myself that each round was getting just a little bit smaller! The good ol' home gym! Hiking season keeps me out of that thing, but I'm dabbling back into some strength training now that the season is changing! Thanks for mentioning the videography on this one (it's definitely a word)! I didn't know how it was going to come out with not speaking, but I think it got the point. I just wanted to create a good video, that could be looked at as peaceful. That hill was definitely steep!! That was all camera magic that you were seeing! The first drone shot of me hiking the round up was a round of firewood, and then the overhead shot was actually a different piece of firewood. I just pieced them together, put Lolly in the same spot, and combined the shots to make them appear to be one :) I was out there for about seven or eight hours that day! It was a long one!! Thank you so much for watching this video! I haven't made a sale on the stand in a few weeks, but that's okay! I like just making occasional sales anyways. I also don't have enough wood stand firewood to get me through the whole winter if I made consistent sales! If you guys ever need firewood I will hook you up! Thank you so much for watching this one, and for all the generous comments and support! See you on the next one, and Happy November! -Danny

Sorry for taking a bit to get to this. I'm in the Coeur d' Alene national forest somewhere between Wallace and Athol. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it here somewhere - it's the best place in the world! Welcome!

Sorry for taking a bit to get to this. I'm in the Coeur d' Alene national forest somewhere between Wallace and Athol. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it here somewhere - it's the best place in the world! Welcome!
Amazing video! That definitely took a lot of effort to film and edit.
Thanks Grant!! Congrats on crossing the 1,000 sub mark - well deserved!!
