There is something really funny watching a guy try to remember what he did three years ago and root for himself making the right choice. This should be a board game.
Enjoyed the crap outta this video, as always. Thank you. How I'd want it scored, with the caveat of I'm not the one who would have to put in the work to score it: -2 points for a pick below 7 on BGG IF there was a game > 8.0 that you didn't pick (missed) -1 point for a pick below 7 if there was a game => 7.5 that you missed OR for a game that did not deliver 0 points for a pick below 7 but there was not a game >= 7.5 1 point for a pick 7.0-7.9 2 points for a pick => 8.0 One bonus point if you picked the two highest rated games. PLUS modifiers: (your choice, use three total) - Super Pick for Chris: add 1.0 to a Pick for you if you think the BGG rating is misaligned with your own ratings. - Double Down: before looking up a game you can attempt to predict its exact BGG rating. If you're within 0.2 then you double your earnings for that game. If you are not, then you gain nothing and you like it. - They're wrong, Chris is right: use if you disagree with the BGG Rating for any game. Roll the die of fate. This is a six sided die with results 1-2, lose a point, 3-4 nothing happens, 5 gain a point, 6 CHRIS WAS RIGHT gain 3 points. Of course this would mean you'd have to look up just about every game from the year. Maybe we can get an intern to do it
My GameBrewer games delivered and I was really excited. The quality of Bone Wars is *phenomenal* but unfortunately Stroganov was missing a BUNCH of pieces. I sent in a ticket but haven’t heard back from them but I know it’s just a one man operation at the moment so I’ll give it some time. I just hope I’ll be able to play the game. lol.
@@sideswipe2615 dang, yeah I know Game Brewer is essentially gone, which is too bad because I was always intrigued by their stuff. Glad that they still have at least a skeleton crew delivering some orders at least
@ I will say, I love their storage solutions. I dunno if you’ve seen one before, but all the pieces are punch-out and fold together and the box tells you where to place them all. It’s very neat!
I think you should give yourself credit when you see red flags or your pick was just less stressful for backers. Example Honeybuzz had an overall better BGG score but wasn't a guarantee to arrive. While Geisha's Road had issues but was handled well
I think seven is a pretty good threshhold for "success". That said, it masks the "prophetic" predictions/picks that would be over, like, eight... or top thousand.
I think lighter games (weight 2.5 or lower) needs at least a 7 to give a point. Above 2.5 needs at least a 7.5 to give a point. I mean, we are talking about serious points here.
I think how he's doing it is fine because if you are going to raise the bar for positive points, I feel you need to lower it for negative points. There are plenty of good games at around 6.8. So then you have positive points, negative points, and no points. Doing all that or looking at the weight just makes it too complicated. Best to just leave it at 7 and keep it simple.

Haha, yeah I'll have the intern start putting in more hours! But a fun system :)
