Thanks to the "somebody" who pointed this out to you, and of course yourself for sharing your aha moment with the rest of us.
What I love about this tip is that it is very "Sketchupy". It has an elegant simplicity to it that Sketchup is so known for.
The new Live Components, with their requirement to enter parameters numerically, aren't nearly as elegant as a well designed Dynamic Component built to "smart-scale" itself.
Point being that it's lovely to be reminded of the simple elegance of Sketchup as other newer features seem more about adopting conventional ways of doing things like parametric modelling via dialog boxes.
As Sketchup moves forward, I hope it doesn't lose the design principals and elegance that has made it what it is.
Anyway, great tip! Learned something new and useful today when I didn't expect to. You're right - what a lovely surprise.

Wow! So with hidden geometry on you push pulled a curved face. That is significant!

... just tried this ALT+PushPull-thing immediately with my old SkUp2017 Make at home - great!!! Another SketchUp easter egg hidden for ages 😲😲👍🏻👍🏻

Did not know about this. I work with angled surfaces all the time. What I actually do is use my protractor to get the angle I want. I then use the move command to move (stretch) my surface along the path of my guideline.

A clarification? If I draw a 4' x 4' square, then use the Offset tool with a 1' offset amount on the square's boundary, which creates a second concentric and coplanar 2' x 2' square, and then try this new Push/Pull stretch technique to pull up that center 2' x 2' square up by 4' with a Push/Pull and CMD key modifier, Push/Pull does nothing. However, if I add diagonal corner lines from the corners of the 2' x 2' square to the corners of the 4' x 4' square first, then do the CMD Push/Pull trick, I can get the predicted truncated pyramid "stretched" shape to occur. Not sure how to say this, but this Push/Pull stretch technique looks like it will only work on a surface that already has some kind of geometry already defined so it has connected surfaces to "stretch". Also, I can get the same truncated pyramid shape using the Move tool with the CMD key "auto fold" option to pull the initial centered 2' x 2' square up, without explicitly adding the diagonals first. Regardless, the Push/Pull "stretch" CMD key qualifier is yet another tool in the tool box.

Probably the coolest thing I've seen all day. I've never used stretch - it's a game-changer! And turning on hidden faces and these use it - Boom! blown away!!!

It would be great if the Command modifier could be added to the tool tip for Push/Pull! At the moment, only the Option modifier is "explained" in the status bar (2:30)

Oh wow, I knew of this a few weeks earlier when I was drawing some exhaust pipes for a motorbike. All bends and resize of the pipes where much easier than scaling and measuring time after time. Is there a list of all these extra "hidden" functions out there? There might be more of those tricks I wish I knew earlier!

    Never noticed before!
What I found confusing is the name. This is called "move along normal" in lots of other applications, not stretch. And lots of other applications call "stretch" something different (for example scaling on one axys only or moving only a few elements of an item etc).
I know that every company choose names as they want but this makes things confusing.
    Great video as usual! Thanks.
