Planning on making the trip to the Statue of Liberty in 2024 and it's because of your video that gives me the confidence to try it. I'll have to try to take the southern route since I am on the south shore, but should be fun.
Thanks John, I really appreciate that. It wasn't hard to get good material for that one. All that was missing was aerial footage, but If I flew the drone I would be violating several FAA and local ordinances. Thanks for your videos too, it shows those of us who jig in the Long Island Sound and South Shore Bays that there really are Fluke on Long Island..lol. Eirene
Thanks Brandon, its the Samsung Gear watch, a nice compliment to my Samsung Note 8 phone which by the way was the camera used in the entirety of this production. Yes, Yamaha makes a sharp boat along with great engines. Thanks
The water I boat in is generally pure salt water, not brackish. Have close to 300 hrs. on the engine with no issues at all. I m however diligent with care and maintenance. Thanks for watching!
Looks like such a blast Capt. Leon. How long did that trip take you? Swells look pretty good, looks like the conditions were perfect. I may try that coming from the Raritan Bay in N.J. this summer but will see. Thanks and God Bless!
Hey Rom, Took us a few hours exploring the various rivers and sights. Water was fine for our 19ft. boat, worth the trip. Keep an eye out for currents at Hell's gate! Good luck.
Great video, really interesting tour of the NYC waterways. I ran a 2006 Yamaha SX210 on the upper Chesapeake for seven years. Great boats. I wish I had taken it more places and toured like this! How do you find the 19' boats to handle chop? I know my 21' got pretty rough when the waves kicked up. I always thought I'd upgrade to a 24', but now the kids are headed out to college, so it's just my wife and I. Hard to justify a bigger boat, so I think on the 19' Yamahas, but I know my wife wouldn't want to deal with a rough ride anymore.
Having only the 19ft.I can't compare to the 24ft. I think if the water is calm, the 19ft is fine. If it's rough, I think it's rough for all small boats, including the 24ft.
Holy cow!!! Another great production Leon! I can't stop watching. Where exactly in Flushing did you launch and how long did the 42 miles take to navigate??
Wow you have great production skills. I've always wanted to take my 73 wriedt maverick up north just scared of the salt water damaging fresh water components. Thank you for your info. Look forward to more videos
Absolutely awesome video! Its so great to see you enjoy the trip with you "pops" and even have him at the helm. I have done NYC bike tours and have seen some great sights in the city. been over the Tri Borough on a bike, through the Lincoln tunnel, over the Brooklyn Bridge (live in Bergen County NJ). But nothing like this from the water. I am about to order a new SX190. Have a house down the jersey shore in Ortley Beach. But nothing can beat these sights! I can launch from Alpine NJ and cant wait to go down the Hudson and back up the east river. Seeing Citi Field would be awesome (lets go METS!). Did it get choppy at all during the ride? Looks like it handled it with ease. Does your lowrance have the thru hull transducer? Will need one of these on my new SX. Love the informative videos. Helped cement my decision to go Yamaha jet instead of another outboard where you just get to play follow the leader through the channel markers in the bay on a busy weekend down the shore. Bay is so shallow. Cant wait to take the jet almost anywhere
Great video well produced my son the best

Plan your day Steve with ideal conditions, you can do it!
Awesome video! I think I might have to bring my boat down from CT next summer after seeing this video.
Great video, I did this run back in the day on a 2 stroke jetski, that was a blast.
Nice! Thought I was the only one silly enough to do this! That said we ran out of gas on way back to CT and missed my rehearsal dinner 😂😂😂🤦♂️
@@DJ-Justo that's crazy. You tend to forget and loos track of time when you are out on the water. Did she kick your ass hahha
Looks like a great trip!

Leo - your videos are a work of art. Beautifully done!!!

Great video! I’m thinking about purchasing a jet boat. Do you have any concerns piloting it in that brackish water? Beautiful machine btw
