Ive had mine for 3 years, and all i can say is that for about a year, I couldn’t go in the same room as it without being mesmerised for a moment. Ive never regretted owning it for a second.

Many of your critiques are valid, but put into perspective the age of this set. It was released in 2017 and most likely was in design for at least a year, maybe two. So as a set it is nearing a decade old now if you include development time. In that time building techniques have changed drasticlly.
I love mine and consider it a center piece next to my ISD, AT-AT, Razor Crest, and Venagor.
My biggest issue is that I wish some more interior details could have been added. There is two interior compartments left empty. Yes one is below the cockpit tunnel and get that one, but not the rear starboard one.
All in all for when it was designed, its a marvel of a set.

A little late to the party. Maybe it would be better to title it, why its not that good in 2024 or something like that

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't like super detailed LEGO sets, huge LEGO sets, or licensed themes in general. I much prefer the blockiness of 90s sets. So even though I don't really have a place in this discussion, I'm glad to see someone trying to add something to the conversation about UCS sets.
I think that if I were a LEGO Star Wars fan, I'd rather take several midi-scale display ships than a prohibitively massive model of one of the most boring ships from the Original Trilogy. There are so many fascinating ships from all across the franchise that get overlooked because people are (understandably) nostalgic for their big grey circle.
Anyway, I'm gonna head back to my brightly-colored and silly retro LEGO themes now. At the end of the day, if a giant hunk of expensive plastic from a beloved movie makes you happy, more power to you.

I had it for 3+ years and ya I honestly didn’t really like it. It’s so unwieldy and I much prefer something like the atat or razor crest

With opinions and titles like this, no wonder you don't have any subs or views lol.

I see your points. I agree with the lack of Minifigures and large pizza pieces that are not connected and should be. I don't think that makes it over rated tho. The Minifigure selections should have definitely been more premium! Sucks that it wasn't.
I don't think this set needed more open space. At the end of the day, UCS isn't meant to be played with a lot. Not to say you can't lol! I think it satisfies it's job as a display/ talking piece in a house.
As for the lack of a stand, this is more of a collectable for many ppl. I think the idea of buying a case and stand for it are valid. Almost like ppl who buy special cases and stands for baseballs, footballs, and even dolls, or "actions figures". And structurally, a stand for this, made of Lego, might be hard to handle all 33lbs lol
As for the act of carrying it, I think it's expected for a couple pieces to fall off. Even carrying the UCS Star Destroyer, I know exactly which pieces are about to come off. Sometimes I take them off beforehand lol. These two sets are behemoths and should be carried only when needed.
These are just my thoughts. Again, I agree with some of your points! I love em actually! But I don't think that makes it overrated. Overpriced, yes, but then I guess so is everything else 🤷🏽‍♀️
I would love to hear from you!

True, I don’t think all UCS sets need a interior. Seeing sets like the AT-AT and the Razor Crest raised the bar for expanding on what a UCS includes. Getting more accurate interior scenes than what a play set would offer. That probably does raise the price when some people just want the display as you mentioned. For the stand, I do agree that it is not necessary as it can already be on its landing gear. It would be nice to have some attempt of an alternative display with a better piece count. I agree that you won’t move it much, but I feel like knowing that some pieces will fall off makes an owner not appreciate it as much.

With the AT-AT and RC, it definitely sets the bar higher. That's one thing we can appreciate about Lego tho, they will hopefully improve as years go by! If the MF came out today, I think there would be more interior. Jeez, it has already been 7 years! Let's hope future UCS sets like the MF get more premium figures!
