    Still listening, but I have a friend who has Hashimoto’s and she takes medication, I found it interesting her doctor told her absolutely not to have the vaccine for Covid because that could really make things worse and I’m thinking how fortunate was she that she had a doctor that was willing to do the right thing for their patient and not fear the politicization of that whole ugly mess!

      My sister developed blood clots after the "vaccine" (aka expiramental flu shot) and her gyn told her she was seeing many patients with the same issues after the covid jab. It really should not be called a vaccine.

      Get to the root cause! Extensive testing is the only way to know what’s truly going on inside your body. Analysis of your results is critical. You have to be willing to make a total lifestyle change (what you eat (not dieting) & exercise). Functional medicine does not happen overnight! It is a long, slow process but so worth it! I can attest to this!

      Sounds like an ignorant doctor to dissuade a patient from taking the Covid vaccine. Malpractice.

      I wish my best friend had that she walked miles, and miles a day and had MS. I lost her six months after my mom. She was that person that if you didn’t answer the phone and something was wrong she would know and I would get a text like you better answer the phone. I waited a long time for a friend like that. My mother was my best friend and she couldn’t see her doctor. They circled her through all the physicians for all the check ups and she had a terrible cough, and I talked to them about it every single time we went in there and she had cancer before, and I begged them to figure it out. She was in terrible pain in her back and felt terrible when she couldn’t walk 15 feet and it got less and less. Then they said if she didn’t get chemo, she would die. It’s in her bones and everywhere and she was in so much pain. My son wasn’t allowed to see his girlfriend. He has special needs. His girlfriend got the shot and her mother said if he didn’t get it, he couldn’t see her. Now he has liver problems at 30 never had a drink. People can hide their head if they want. Sjogren’s became Lupus w organ involvement.. I don’t care if they ban me please if you see this don’t let your grandchild or your daughter son anyone do it. It isn’t what people think and I will not argue with anyone about it.

    If I may suggest……the solution is not an air purifier (although it helps).
    The solution is having our government stop polluting our food and our air. Now that’s a deep deep rabbit hole that most will not go down.

      Yes I go down that trail and have for years with Food Babe who goes up against big industrial food industry and RFK, Jr. and Children's Health Defense. EWG (Environmental Working Group) website that shares the top dirty and clean foods and personal care items, etc. It's a constant fight. There are ways to at least grow some of your own food even in urban areas like I do with a small urban yard -- coop food groups that utilize organic and regenerative farming and ranching, filtering your water. There are many ways to at least start in small ways to make a difference in your health.

      I don't mind so much the ads in the video that Dominique herself is providing as I pretty much trust her integrity. However, the loooooong list of ads plus the TH-cam pushing dozens of other sites, counted today and there were 30 that TH-cam placed in front of Dominique's comment section is getting really tiresome - and obnoxious. I thought once a TH-camr reached 1M followers that TH-cam would let up a little on the ads especially promoting what else TH-cam wants people to watch, which seldom reflect actual interests of the viewer. Guess not - and it's really irritating!

The most encouraging part to me is what Dr Heather said that the body is "self-healing"! Treat it right and you will reap the reward.... from a 69 year old Nana :)

    Oh my God this was informative & helpful. I recently went to get labs because my symptoms mimic both of my issues which are Hashimoto and Peri Meno. Finally my Doctor told me that my symptoms most likely came from both but mostly my Hashimoto. The good thing is that my thyroid is healthy ever since I began eating properly to avoid my Hashimoto from attacking my thyroid gland. I started four months ago and I have lost 35 lbs which is a bonus because this was just to keep my anti-bodies from attacking my gland. I am now Gluten Free, Dairy Free, soy free, sugar free and discovered other delicious foods that are healthy and clean eating. I feel 20 years younger. No longer with fatigue, I have so much energy, my brain fog has reduced and I even started working out because I am no longer tired. Many other positives from eating this way. My skin & my hair are healthy. Before my hair would fall off, my nails were brittle…I can go on and on of how bad I had it when I was still eating those other food groups. The body adapts and you start being fearful of those other foods. I just flare up with all my symptoms if I eat those food groups. I am the happiest I ever been. No more depressions yay - a little of anxieties but that is just because of my current situation with work and family tragedy. God is present in everything and he is helping me with all my trials. Thank you for your guests and for the information that we should be getting informed by our doctors which they don’t unless we ask them to test us. Women are completely alone in all of this transitioning - but we have you to help us ❤️🙏 may God always keep you healthy and give you the energy to continue with this channel 🥰

    Such an interesting topic, particularly around the fact that symptoms of different things are the same. In 2022 I started with many symptoms, brain fog, fatigue, etc. and put it down to perimenopause. I never considered thyroid, mostly because I didn't know that this was a possibility.
    In the December I found a lump in my breast, and in January 2023 I was diagnosed directly to Stage 4, Metastatic Breast Cancer. This shows again that so many symptoms that can point at one, or even two different things, can actually point at MANY options.
    It seems that thyroid, as the driver of the body, is a great place to start, but that we need a full look, and as Dr Heather said, a comprehensive assessment with custom plans

    Hi Dominique - I've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and I was prescribed levothyroxine (synthroid). When I'm prescribed new medicines, I always do my research and what I found out was that this medicine that's suppose to improve hair growth causes hair loss to get worse, so I refused to continue levothyroxine and chose to use alternative remedies. As far as weight loss, I eat nuts, fruit , salads, homemade soups , and for meat protein, I eat bison, chicken, and yes , on occasion, even baked pork rinds. lol I lovvvve baked pork rinds lol For beverages, I drink purified water, purified water with apple cider vinegar and honey and aloe vera juice with cranberry juice ( w/ no added sugar ) For a vitamin supplement, I'm taking vitamin D3 that was prescribed by my doctor. My weight loss went from 250 lbs to 237 lbs and then this month (in September) I reached 236 lbs. My next weight - in. is in October. ( I check my weight the second week of every month.)

    • @susanmulvey6311
      @susanmulvey6311 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wait. Synthroid makes hair loss worse!? I’ve alway been thin, started to gain weight and hair thinning. The doctor didn’t do anything because I could gain some weight he said. But I assisted on a blood screen, he called and said oh yes, you do have😅 a problem with your thyroid. I was upset because I had been putting up with it for over a year and a half. So I thought taking Synthroid would my hair loss and make me warm not so tired. It hasn’t worked. I can’t even take a whole Synthroid pill because it makes me very nervous and anxious feeling, so I only take a half a pill a day. Thank you for bringing up that this medicine might be causing my hair loss, I’m definitely gonna look into it. And I appreciate you commenting on it, so that I will look into it more closely. I am so depressed about my hair loss.

We don't in the UK seem to have the rigorous investigations you have in the US. I am going to her to watch the pod cast and contacy Heather through face book. Keep up the good work Dom and thank you. • @cracksofdawn
      @cracksofdawn หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as you’re not allergic to any of these, I’d recommend soy (tofu & tempeh & milk), cooked beans (mung beans are very high in protein), lentils, legumes (including peanut butter), seeds (chia have 5g per 2 TBSP - & sacha inchi are very high in protein) and tahini (ground sesame seeds) has 9g per 2 TBSP. Pistachios also have a decent amount of protein (don’t be scared of nuts). I put my MS into remission for the last 17 years thru a vegan diet, exercise, & fasting. It’s too bad that so many functional med docs push animal protein, since plant-based is superior, but I guess that’s because they get good results in the short term from having their patients give up ultra processed foods. The science is telling us, however, that saturated fats in animals are not good when it comes to our long term metabolic health. Hope this helps 😊

    Dr. Heather will ensure you have a heart attack by 50 or at a minimum stents with her advice. I wish you would get someone with real science behind them like Dr. Neal Barnard to discuss diet. Dr. Heather’s advice on food is dangerous.

    Unfortunately, functional medicine practitioners in some areas are scarce. There is only one where I am (close to a Pacific NW large city). That doctor doesn't take my health insurance plan, but also is so busy that he's not accepting new patients at all. Plans are to move after retirement and there are two things at the top of my must-have relocation requirements: availability of a functional medicine doctor, preferably a woman, and - don't laugh - a highly rated veterinarian for my two k9s.

      Yes, and my F&I MD charges full price for all those tests (so that would be in the $3000 range), and then her consultation fee is $550 per hour. (This is where I live Down Under.) It's been unsustainable for me. I'm not well enough to work so we are a 1 income family as well. Take care.

      I did it and am in treatment with Dr. Heather and her staff and have made significant progress from her wisdom and knowledge compared to my PCP and other the thyroid specialist I was going to for years and taking all the meds. I am no longer on any medication and have energy and am releasing weight that wouldn't budge for years even after extensive workouts and dieting. I would rather spend my money to be healthy than to spend it taking medications and never getting well. But that's just me. And I understand how expensive it is. Which is sad that everyone cannot afford it. There are some others out there that do the extensive testing that possibly charge less. But it is just sad that our insurance only pays for Big PHarma meds and only the tests they allow. That is one of the issues.

    Is Dr Stone a medical doctor or Dr of chiropractor?

      She is a MD doctor

    • @SusanBRoman-ch9bm

      Dr. Stone is a doctor of chiropractics. Chiropractors do not attend medical school and cannot prescribe medications. Many doctors practice functional medicine (DO, Physiatrists). I think alternative medicine modalities have a place in health care but they are often filled with snake oil salesmen practitioners; taking advantage of sick/desperate patients looking for a cure. I'm not saying she is nefarious, I am just saying, be knowledgeable about your health and treatment options.

      Seems unclear. More transparency is necessary. I was surprised that she said it is 'hard to overdo the protein'. I thought you could overdo protein. But I'm not medically trained.

      I found a website for Dr Heather Stone and it says she's a DC. Therefore a Dr of Chiropractor. Thanks for questioning that, otherwise I wouldn't have checked.
