Cymbalta was prescribed in 2016 for GAD. It has changed my life. It is wonderful. I take it just before bedtime and sleep like a baby. No more anxiety. No side effects. My does is 80 mg. Would not every be without it.
I suffered from anxiety disorder all of my life. I jumped from 5mg escitalopram to 30g of Duloxetine. Didnt feel any major change. After a month I doubled to 60 mg now I feel terrible and extermly anxious.
Cymbalta made me have gut problems, which I have anyway, just made it worse, so I switched over to Zoloft. Worst experience I’ve ever had with changing antidepressants! I titrated the Cymbalta down and waited a week (maybe two) before starting the Zoloft. My depression and anxiety got BAD during the transition but I made it! Now I’m a happy camper again! 🎉😊. I hope I never have to go back on Cymbalta though because it was HELL coming off of it.
I do not know what's best for your specific situation, but talking to your provider about changing the timing of when you take the medication, decreasing the dose, or using a supplement or other sleep aid, could be very helpful. I switched to lexapro and don’t have the same side effects. I’ve been on it 2 weeks. I’m also taking a sedative at the same time. It’s to get over my social phobia and the depression that my social anxiety has caused.
i was getting no sleep atall,got put on cym 60mg and 7.5mg zopiclone for sleep.It took 6 weeks to start to feel a bit better and after about 10 weeks began to start falling asleep without the zop. Btw you really gotta grit yur teeth and hang on in there with the cym.
I was prescribe this med today the generic variant 20MG. I am a Cronic insomnia patient. Should i start this med or talk again with my Doc. I dont want to start a med that would make my insomnia worst
When I started Cymbalta - a month ago (30mg) it first kept me awake for 24 hours. It leaves me more spaced out and forget things but I will take that over feeling depressed or anxious.
Palpitations and changes in heart rhythm and vitals can be a side effect. It would not be common for them to be serious, but it's possible. Because of this, It's very important to discuss directly with your provider, to make sure that there is nothing serious occurring. Sometimes it does take individuals some time to adjust to these types of medications, but as you're not under my care directly, it's important that you follow your provider's direction and if symptoms worsen, to get immediate help. Yes, duloxetine is a medication that I have utilized to treat OCD in many patients. Providers will often start with SSRIs (duloxetine is an SNRI) BUT, there may be reasons why someone would start (or continue) duloxetine, and it may be a great option for many. it is only officially approved for generalized anxiety disorder (in the context of anxiety disorders) that doesn't mean it can't be used to treat that, just that we only know it has efficacy in generalized anxiety disorder, i would talk to your psychiatrist about this
I am on Remeron for sleep, 15mg, and now Cymbalta 30mg for pain and mood. I was going to take them 10 to 12 hours apart. Safely take both but 12 hours apart?

I like Cymbalta doesn’t make me lazy and eat lot like SSRI’s did . I actually enjoy exercising

Is it good idea to treat IBS without diarrhea or constipation(only bloating and spasm) with duloxetin 30 ?
I have faster heartbeat when starting. Is this only in the beginning or does it do this all along when taking it?
