One of the cool things about the NCDOT's Piedmont Trains is they will probably end up being the last regular intercity passenger train to use heritage equipment once Amtrak retires there dining & baggage cars. Also the NCDOT rolling stock features both horizontal & vertical dampers which contributes to a very smooth ride.
Years ago the entire route from Washington D.C. to New Orleans, LA was one of the Routes of the Robert E. Lee. My uncle was the engineer on that steam loco. He's gone as if the train but they live in history.
Thanks Danny,NS knows how to put on a great show. Juniata Terminal is owned by Bennet Levin and his son. It's just across river from me in North Philly. Was fortunate to ride on these cars to Pittsburgh+back when he attached them to Amtrak's Pennsylvanian. Can't wait to see part2.
Great video Danny. Apparently today is railfan day at our railroad. I wish I had known before last night, I could have broadcast the info for others. Oh well, glad to see another great video from you. Keep up the great work.
Great Video!!! Do you think that streamlines at Spencer will happen in the future? Just got into trains and I'm bummed that I'm missed it, just hope it happens again!
I did try some Cheerwine. A little sweet for me, but good. I also had me first Carolina BBQ at Richards on Main Street. First time I'd had slaw on a pork sandwich. Really good!
ResidentEvil742 LOVED The NC Trans Museum!! I especially loved the "Roadways" exhibit with its old traffic signals, road & business signs, old cars and gas pumps. I've got a lot of video of the museum in my next videos
The horn on the Pennsylvania 5809 engine is amazing
DONT CALL IT AS ENGINE!!!CALL IT AS LOCOMOTIVE!!!!
I was there for Saturday. It was an amazing event! I went 'fanning friday night, but we only caught an intermodal. Great video!

Nice teaser for what I'm sure will be some spectacular footage in Part 2. Well done as always Danny!
I was there Saturday and Sunday, did a little railfanning Friday after checking in at the hotel was a good weekend!
Danny, the videos are awesome. I wish I had gotten to do some railfanning while there, good stuff sir. William.
I was there as well. Came up on a Friday, went home on Sunday.
Great video as always. Fun to see an area I know well (40 min from my home). Btw, Salisbury is pronounced "Sawlzberry."
Ha!! I might have guessed. I have a friend whose last name is Salisbury and he pronounces it with the "i". I'll fix that for next time.
Thanks!
There's a town in England called Salisbury but it is pronounced "Sawlz-bree".
Always good to see one of your vids pop-up on my list. They are always great! Thanks Danny.
Thanks Ed. These were a lot of fun.

Amazing video!
Cool video I railfan a little south of that location in a town called Belmont NC.
Excellent video, Danny!
Awesome horn on the first train with the restored PRR loco. But a very odd sounding one on the second train.

MY MOST FAVORITE E_8A IS shoutern 6900 and my favorite FL9 is 6033
I can't believe that they gathered all of those EMDs and ALCOs there. I wanted to go very badly, but only to see the 611.
Awesome can't wait for Part 2 :D
Awesome!
Will this likely happen again sometime? but AWESOME video
@Distant signal if you had a choice would you put a railfan cam at Salisbury Amtrak
Great Video!!! Do you think that streamlines at Spencer will happen in the future? Just got into trains and I'm bummed that I'm missed it, just hope it happens again!

Amtrak 73 Raleigh NC to Charlotte NC
Ahhh...
Danny don't pronounce the "i" in Salisbury
"Sawls-bury" is just fine in these parts.
OK Thanks! I'll fix that in the next parts.
Distant Signal How well did you like the Museum?
ResidentEvil742 LOVED The NC Trans Museum!! I especially loved the "Roadways" exhibit with its old traffic signals, road & business signs, old cars and gas pumps. I've got a lot of video of the museum in my next videos
Distant Signal I love the old cars as well as the trains.
