    For me i would never install mods on this one.
    I would make last atleast 300 miles. Ml mercedes series are one of the best cars for reliability

    • @monumentauto

      You’re right, mods definitely take away some reliability. all the big mods are too expensive for me right now anyway

    Enjoying your vids, I have a 2007 with 115k miles on it, it's been pretty good to me over the 4 years I've owned it, thought about replacing the shocks also, but not bothered... yet.
    I would fix the body work before adding any extra engine tunes, I mean it's already SUPER fast, why bother for just a few more HP?!
    My main gripe is the stereo/satnav, I'd love to upgrade it with a carplay system but don't have the know how and don't want some laggy Android system that will feel dated in 2 years anyway, plus with the MOST system I don't want to mess with it.
    I saw a Cayenne get updated with a 'bridge' module that converts the stock system into a Carplay one by holding a button, which is great as it retains the original setup, but sadly there doesn't seem to be one for the ML...

      Nice! Know anything about coilovers? And yes absolutely, the first things on my list are the body work, tailgate, to make the car 100% before modifying. I’ve looked at aftermarket head units and have installed them in other cars myself but also don’t want something cheap looking in this nice interior…let me know if you find something! Thanks for the comment and happy new year!

      @@monumentauto Hey man, how's the car? Do you still have it? I'm close to selling mine as it's of an age when lots of small things start going wrong, I just had to replace all brake rotors and pads - pricey!!!

    Im looking at getting a ml63 so i have watched all of your videos. I get that you want to improve on your car but isnt 500+hp enough? :D Maybee coilovers and a louder exhaust would do it for you at a lower cost?

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha yes definitely exhaust and coilovers would be nice :) and ultimately I’m in no place to drop 12+ thousand dollars on a supercharger with install etc so it likely won’t happen unless someone wants to donate it to me haha but I like to dream

    • @monumentauto

    Hi brother, just watched the video, i switched my Airmatic to Ceika coilovers and it was the best thing i ve did, now the car sits lower as i wanted and i can adjust the stiffness/comfort of the ride, so i recommend that, i selected Sport Low as options.

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! thank you so much for the comment, I’ve been thinking about Ceika but it’s so hard to find reviews specifically for these vehicles, I feel like not many people have put coilovers on these cars so your review is super helpful. I think when my air struts need replacing I might just switch to coilovers

    • @liviumystery95
      @liviumystery95 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@monumentauto After 2 of my airbags were gone i spoke to a friend from another country who switched to these coilovers and i after i did it too trust me, not only you re not concerning anymore if something fails on the whole airmatic, this setup is really amazing considering the customization provided and very easy to install, direct bolt on. I think i ll get this setup from Ceika for other cars too in the future, i m satisfied and worth the money.

    Should I buy one with 77k miles for 18k? Or maybe try and go for a m5 ? Same mileage but 20k same year too 2007

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Interesting! Very different cars in some ways…I don’t know anything about the M5 but I guess it depends if you want SUV or sedan - they’re both powerful luxury vehicles that can be expensive to maintain but very fun and rewarding as well. Personally I’d go ML63 of course but I’m biased

    In regard to the tailgate lever getting stuck, spray a little WD40 on the side pins while the tailgate is up. It should free up if the springs aren't stuffed. WD40 fixed mine. Could also be the SAM in the back has moisture... Great car...!!

    Why not look or a cheap 2012 and up M157 Twin Turbo ML63 and modded to over 600 with just a Weistec tune and modify the exhaust to your liking? I have driven both 156 and Performance package on the M157 ML63 and I do like both but the Newer ML63 does eel much newer and newer technology on the electronic displays,etc. but I do worry about the difficulty and cost to work on these newer TT models.

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good point, definitely easier to make big power when you can just turn up the boost! I hadn’t thought of that. I think I’m just attached to this one because I fixed it up myself. And supercharging the m156 would definitely be unique especially in an ml63

      You’re right it’s a great vehicle already but I like modifying to make them truly my own - whether cosmetic or mechanical, it brings me happiness :) you may not think it’s worth it or agree with my opinions but that’s what makes things interesting! Hello I was looking at a ml63 so that’s how i came accross your content ( which is fun to watch btw).
    It’s always good to see fellow enthusiasts appreciating cars from
    This era.
    would you consider buying an 07 ml63 with 170k miles for 5k?
    And do you have social media accounts?

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I’d consider it but I’m also not known for the most economical decisions when it comes to cars…definitely kinda high mileage but if it’s running and driving, that’s a tempting bargain given the amount of vehicle you get. If it needs a bunch of work though, you’ll put another 5k in it before you know it. You doing your own work? I think that’s the only way it’s really feasible unless you have money to burn. And I don’t have any car related social media, just TH-cam.
