Hi Rachit (@motoroctane)
Hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my first car, the Honda City 5th generation. I chose this car primarily for its exceptional comfort, spacious rear seats, boot space and it’s reliable ivtec engine. Also it offers all the necessary features that perfectly suit my needs.
Recently, I embarked on a remarkable journey, driving from Bhagalpur, Bihar to Pune, covering a distance of 2007 kilometers. Despite the long drive, I must say that I experienced no travel fatigue whatsoever. The comfort level of the Honda City proved to be truly remarkable.

I have a 2014 Honda city Ivtec and I have had it for 7 years and it has not gotten spoiled to many times
I am one of those who was so happy with the trouble free experience of my 2010 V CVT that I did not consider any other car and replaced it with the 2021 5th Gen ZX CVT and as of now I've driven almost 22k kms and haven't faced any issue. The only gripe I had with my old car was the low ground clearance which the new car has solved!!! I have driven on all kinds of roads both urban (Mumbai) and rural with 5 people on board and full luggage and I'm happy to confirm that even fully loaded it has not scraped the underbody yet!!
It's class
I also bought 5th Gen City 2022 VX CVT. I would like to know how was your long term experience with ur 2010 CVT. It's reliable right?
@@johnnybravo9641 When I sold it in 2021 it had clocked over 1.20 lac kms and during my ownership all I had to replace were engine oil and filters (both oil and air every 7-8k kms), air condition cabin filter (once a year), battery, tyres, front brake pads and front suspension (once). I had driven extensively both within city and outside and never once it had given me any trouble. Till the last day the engine was as silent as it was when new and the CVT transmission shifted smooth like butter and there was not a single rust spot in the car!! Hence I got a very good price for it!!
@sudiptakiran - Are you sure that with 165mm of ground clearance, new 2023 city doesn't get scraped with road especially on rough patches or high speed breakers?

I also love the creta for the fit and quality better than honda city. crdi engine gives great milage and super smooth.
Got my Honda City MMC 2023 last month only, its a beauty. I was initially confused between CITY and AMAZE , with family suggesting to go for amaze as its more value for money. But eventually I went ahead with CITY , and I am totally satisfied with my decision. Looks are simply woww.... Ground clearance is not that big an issue if you drive it slowly in 1st gear before the big breakers, but yeah one need to be careful. Space wise its too big. Cabin noise is very little. Have driven on hills/ghats too, its super smooth.

Looks dashing and beautiful, confused between Elevate & City.
Had 2nd gen and then 4th gen, now almost about to phase out 4th gen for an suv as ground clearance is the only thing i wish I could change. Honda has never failed me. Just love the drive city gives. Engine is as responsive after 12 years but milage has reduced from 15 to 10 in city usage.
Ground clearance is pathetic on the Honda City. Im scared to go over speed breakers. That's why people go for SUVs. Sadly it is not Honda's fault but our useless Engineers and municipal officials who build such speed breakers.
How often have you faced ground clearance issue?
@@ankitkhanna3385 It's always an issue if you go with 4-5 people in the car. And on some speed breakers even with 2. And I'm talking about Mumbai City Roads. Axle will definitely hit hard on the speed breaker.

This is a good video with loads of important information. I have the Honda City V 2016 model. I just drove from Mumbai to Bengaluru non-stop and had no fatigue issues. We are a family of 4, and with a full boot drove 3,300 km over ten days. The route was Mumbai , Bengaluru, Ooty, Mysuru, Coorg, Bengaluru, Mumbai. I got an average of 17.1 km/pl. This car is simply amazing!!!
Amazing experience....some time when I feel low ...I just start my city and take some ride ...city relaxed me like mother's lap....
Went from 2011 Jazz to 2020 Honda City V Petrol MT. Did 36000 KM so far including many 500KM+ road trips across entire south India. total VFM and solid package
I've owned a Honda City since 2015. Top model Diesel variant. I've been an absolute fan of it but the ground clearance issue has become a deal breaker lately. I've faced a lot of problems while traveling to the mountains and the bad patches and almost always I would end up with my front bumper getting detached from the vehicle. I love the driving dynamics of a sedan but i realize why the trend is moving towards the SUV/Compact SUV segment now. Keeping in mind the bad roads and uneven terrain across India made me go for an SUV. Ended up buying a Creta S plus knight edition. A decent VFM car!
True.....our roads are bad and the speed breakers are sedan breakers..

I had white city manual top 2012 model. Clocked good 1.25 lakh kms. I never faced any issues. Its one of the most reliable car I could get at that time. I exchanged my car this year to get the new golden brown city auto top model. I got a decent value for my car considering it was almost 11 years old and had done more than a lakh on the odo. I am addicted to city. I did not even try other competitors. I love the space it offers. The front and the back seat are very comfortable. The boot space never disappoints me. My wife loves the new led lights and cvt allows her to steer through city traffic very easily. The only thing which bothers me is the music system. My old city had a better music system as opposed to the current one though. All in all its the best VFM sedan. 🎉. I love my city ❤
What city/state are you in. The 165 mm ground clearance has me worried in bangalore!
@@superdhanshu I am from Dehradun/Uttarakhand and I work in Gurugram/Haryana. I do agree the ground clearance is a little less and I did scratch my car belly on some occasions. Very rightly said, motoroctane! Reliability is factor that drives Hondas, recently it has been down starting with the fifth generation… fenders are too weak. Even Maruti Suzuki does have good ones. But yes still Honda city, Civic and others siblings are good packages over others. Now Elevate, will tell whether Honda will sail through the tough and formidable Tata’s cars like Nexon, Harrier, Safaris. I own a Honda vcvt, one year old, it’s best at vtec engines. My first was the 2002 civic, a gem similar to Bm’s and Merc’s, second too was , is 2009 civic again n now this City Vcvt, the engine is the gem with Adas system is too good. Safety is a big must requirement here in India, As you have rightly mentioned. You have to very carefully with the service centres , bcos of low maintenance they make work out of your reliable Honda!!!!!
I donno but I feel this video you made in particular gave you a big check!🤞
Honda elevate is coming soon….maybe people prefer to by SUVs as well??!
