Yes we're so fortunate to own a Bible in America. People in other countries actually hand write bibles just to have a copy.

I also don't like small print. It has come to the point where I won't buy a bible unless I know for sure what size the text is. I like it to be at least 9.

I agree with you Jason about the small text. I love having medium text to big text in order for me to read it. That's just my little pet peeve with certain Bibles.

I have both of these bibles and they have served me quite well. I purchased my Pitt Minion in June 1963 because it was small and compact. I was in the navy and this bible would travel with me. A couple months later I was half-way around the globe off the coast of southeast Asia. At that age, reading small print was a non-issue.
The ESV reference bible is one of my favorites; the text is very easy to read, and I see no problems with layout.
Just found your videos today, I love them, not sure if I'm to late for the giveaway bible or not, I'm new to this bible reading, all I have is a kjv which is difficult for a beginner and I could use larger print, if I'm to late could I be entered into next one if you do another,
I haven't bought a Pitt Minion because of the small print. I did buy some others that really push it on the size but not that small.
I think you need the Cambridge Clarion NASB. If I'm not mistaken, it's exactly what you described as being "perfect" in conjunction with your wide margin.

I agree with you about the small print issue - I did give away a Bible once when the print was so small it was painful to use (and I was a lot younger with better eyesight then lol).

I have bought a couple of really nice expensive bibles and then gave them away because they just weren't user friendly to me. The people I gave them to didn't have one and needed one and they love them.....a happy ending ;) The one I'm using now is one I found at a thrift store and it is preloved with scripture underlined through out and are some of my favourite scriptures. Thanks for sharing your dislikes......you are not the only one. :)

The ESV Thinline by Crossway is the bomb 💣 for straight up reading. Did you not check the size of the print before buying the 1st one? Any smaller than 8 is too small for easy reading imho.
If anyone doesn't like their current Bible. The Gideon's will take your Bible and give it to someone who wants it. Great option if you decide it's not the right size or version for you.
10:12 Currently going through a bunch of your bible videos trying to buy the right bible and after days of research I too feel like I did not say no to crack hahaha. Hey Jason, its called MINON meaning MINI, great for traveling, which I carry a small Bible in my suitcase.
Yeah... I know what minion means... but it could still be a minion with about 2 more inches. Lol
ESV large print thin line. I also asked for it for a Christmas gift from my wife. Pages are so thin the print on the other side makes it harder to read than the smaller print I had.
The Pitt Minion NKJV is the one I carry around with me. It works for me. My normal Every Day Carry is just too much to fit a bigger bible. I also have the Cambridge Wide Margin NKJV which I tried carrying around, but it’s not as workable. I like them both, though.

I sold my Pitt Minion the first day it arrived in the mail . I did not like the goat skin leather and bonded leather paste down. I love my ESV CR but I agree , they should have added a little more yapp. Besides that I love it. The calf skin grain on mine is a little different. Not as smooth looking as yours .
It’s a nice leather for sure... but I can’t get past the words falling into the inner margin.
I found that improves in time with continued use. The calf skin on mine anyway, but not much. I see what you mean though. I use mine as a church bible. My ESV WM is what I use for study.
I got a Pitt Minion last month. It’s the one I started your 35 day challenge with and I hated it at first. I like it more every day that I read in it. I think it will by my travel bible because it’s so small.

I bought the calfskin ESV classic reference Bible used on eBay for $40..I thought I bought the perfect Bible..but..i decided to do some amateur Bible binding upgrades....let's just say it's not so perfect anymore..Oops..but still use it as my conceal and carry..

The ESV study Bible is excellent. The physical Bibe is large. I own it in kindle edition and highly recommend.
You know, you can get rid of a gift if you’re gifting it to someone else. And I’d love a Pitt Minion for the size-that’s why I was looking at them. I can even live with the presentation page! 😜
Jason, before you mentioned why you did not like the first Bible I saw how small the print was and I figured that was the reason that you did not like that Bible. I also loved the comment that you said, "You should say no to crack." I thought that the context of that comment was funny!

I bought the InCourage bible...think I spelled that right. ? I love the feel of the bible and it folds out so nice. Not crazy about CSB translation, but it's okay. The print is light blue and tiny!! I cannot see it! And it has itty bitty notes....can't see them at all. And I won't buy a devotional bible again. Once I read them, I don't read the devotional pages again. So now...they are just there. Sorta in my way. Isn't it funny how we just don't like certain things? Thank you for your video. :)

@@TearUpYourBible So you haven't checked it out. It's basically a wide margin bible that teaches you the inductive study approach, where God's word becomes its own commentary.
It has lots of room for taking notes, making observations and applications. It even gives the reader suggestions for studying and marking the text.
This video is a perfect example of why I take so long choosing a Bible. I am trying to avoid the issues you highlighted especially with type size. I am comfortable with a 9+ reading size. My situation is slightly complicated by the fact I have a disability, and buy my bibles online, but at least I have that privilege. I am new to your channel. Thank you for being informative and making me laugh.
i live in el salvador and over here they are crazy expensive i am savimg up for an esv study bible hopelly i will have the money to buy one for xmas they are not that expensive but for me its a bit of a hastle because i earn 7 dolars a day not an hour so we have to tigten my belt wish me luck and may God bless your chanel and your family

Why can't Bible Publishers come out with a 12/14 point NKJV Wide Margin? I like the wide margin but all the NKJV Bibles have a print which is hard to read (I'm 63)
I got a compact size bible and the font style and size were giving my eyes and brain a hard time. The font is tiny like tiny tiny. Then it looks like italics style. I can't even. But, on the plus size, it is pink and pretty 😂😂😂

Jason, "Beware the Kraken!!" (Clash of the Titans 😂). I was waiting for you to say that🤣! Well, my ESV brown calf split Pitt minion is my everyday go-to bible for the past nearly 2 years now, but I'm nearsighted and can read it with or without my progressive lenses, thankfully! I find that digital font, though small, laser sharp, like it jumps off the page at you and reads larger than it is, like an optical illusion. Pity you just can't do it though. Interesting about the classic reference, the things that bother you about it actually don't really bug me, but it's too thick a text block than I'd prefer, I tend towards the thinline types. (And just so you're aware, "cordovan" is pronounced CORR-da-van, referring to the burgundy sort of shade of the calfskin ☺️)

I am not crazy about any Bible in paragraph format. I shelled out close to a hundred dollars on a limited release ESV from Crossway (forgot what it was called possibly Heritage), but regretted it almost immediately.

I have gorgeous Cambridge NASB but it's a paragraph style and I just don't like paragraph style bibles.
You don't have these problems with Logos Bible Software!
Actually, I wish Logos would allow you to increase font size more than it does. Kindle is much better in this regard.

Oh..man😳!!! If the text block isn't centered perfectly between the covers, I won't have it, I'll return it to or give it away. literally, that's all I see when I'm trying to read, the uneven yap. I know...it's a sickness.

I hear ya, that would drive me crazy as well...I have actually did "spinal surgery" by carefully separating the headband from the text block, removing the existing ribbons and reinserting my own ribbons (spaced absolutely perfect of course) . I only did this after obtaining a perfectly bound example of my favorite bible type. The awful and uneven ribbons had to go. 😂 it's horrible being this way isn't it?!

Yes, I can attest to being the same way. When I buy a new shirt, I have to fold it in half to make sure the arms meet at the cuffs evenly (I usually pull 2 or 3 or 4 or... out for side by side comparison) . Also, the chest pocket must be centered and not canted left or right. If it isn't spot on, I don't buy it. Same way with pants. The inner and outer seams have to be sewn completely parallel to one another and there can be no variance whatsoever. I've actually returned pocket knives that upon a long and close examination, had the blades ground unevenly. Like you, I have to be true to the insanity because I've tried to tell myself that those things don't matter and nobody else would ever notice. But that's a battle destined for defeat so I just continue to drive myself crazy.
Sometimes I wish we could design our own Bibles because if I were to design the perfect Bible for my needs it would be an A5 size, NKJV, Large Print Interleaved, but I’m not sure it’s possible for such a thing lol 😂

The Bible I don’t like is the Cultural Backgrounds study Bible. I haven’t connected with it, as you say, both in the content of the study notes or the aesthetics of the inside and outside. And I was so excited to get that Bible and it was a letdown. It’s currently at the bottom of my stack of Bibles on my bedside table bc I hardly ever touch it.
I don't have a Bible I don't like because I'm very picky when I pirchase bibles. It just has to hit the spot for me.
What is your number one favorite Bible?
I’ve been following Jason for 4 years now. I do know that one of his top bibles is the ESV thinline , one of his favourite form factors for a bible (also the brown portfolio style was his very first ESV, he has a video on it). The more recent thinline he still loves is the ESV natural leather thinline (which is almost out of print now).
You'll like the Cambridge Clarion. The size is in between the Pitt Minion and the Wide Margin. Its just a reading bible, not a not taking one. Also comes in goatskin and art gilt.

Love you bro. Just a note, Zondervan bibles are CRAPZILLA. If u buy one made by them u WILL have to have it rebound. I had one with great notes I'd written in it and was short on cash. Basically, Zond employee told me its the glue they use. Cheap stuff. Blessings.

I lost two really expensive Bibles I had kept in some boxes in the process of moving that some folks thought was garbage and accidentally threw away: a calfskin ESV Study Bible that was great, but had a glued cover. Surely enough, it started coming apart within less than a year of owning it. It was a beautiful Bible to read and study, but that loose edge kept screeching the chords of Psycho - what happened to me!? Hopefully some lost soul found it and banked on the lifetime warranty. The other was an ESV Omega with art guilding, four ribbons, line matching, sewn cover, etc. I don’t know why, but for a relatively small Bible, it always felt and read humongous like my grandmother’s giant print KJV or something? It was like a lot of small Bibles that really just wanted to be a big Bible - Lol ; )

I used to be a big Study Bibles, for many years. Now, I just use text Bibles. No more footnotes! I also, don’t like paragraph Bibles like the Pitt Minion.
I don’t mind paragraphs... but the text is just below the “okay point” for me.

The Sword Bible has red letters in old and new testaments. John 1:1-14 establishes that Jesus is God and it's a great tool to show ALL that He said. As in respect the Word of God everywhere. It's a KJeasy reader so it takes out only the thees and thous....it's a good Bible...check it out!! even amazon has it....
I wouldn’t have anything with less than the 8.75/10.5 points of my Cambridge NIV Clarion, or the 9.6 point font of my TBS Westminster Reference KJV. My least favourite Bible recently was an ESV Large Print Wide Margin Bible from Crossway in TruTone Portfolio. Eeuugh!! The font size was the only good thing about it. I left it on the garden wall with a post-it note saying free Bible first please take. No-one should ever have to pay for that GARBAGE!!! Oh yeah ... it wasn’t even ‘wide margin’ unless you think 1 inch is wide. Luckily it was cheap.
I agree about saying no to crack. Heehee...I do not like the way the writing falls into the crack, and I need a Bible to be red letter. I just need the words of Jesus in red, just something I have gotten used to early on in my faith.

Really the main thing I have to have in my bibles is Jesus' words in red, and His pronouns capitalized.

Why so many traditionalists want you to use a certain version of the Bible and they you're not reading God's word. But I have a collection of Bibles and I love them all. It tickles me, how small minded some people are!🤔😂😄☺
