This is a guide for Geometry Dash 2.2, the Random Trigger in the editor. This allows you to randomize events and create things like the LIMBO keys.
Thanks for watching, you can find many more Geometry Dash Guides on my channel! - เกม
to the point and no excessive editing, great tutorial
This guy actually made more sense than the trigger info itself
the trigger infos never make sense
Yes@@absention390
do you think you can do a tutorial on the sequence trigger
How is that
@@skeii9102 Basically the sequence trigger is activated with a spawn trigger if you want to move a block but with a sequence? Then you got a sequence trigger use the group id to do or you want more use the + button or if you want to delete use the - button (sorry for the long word)
This is more straight to the point than my math class 🙏🙏 thanks dude
OH MY JOSH THANK YOU SO MUCH NOW I CAN ACTUALLY MAKE MY LEVELS WORK.

Thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you for this comment.
Thank you so much! :)
ayo can you do music triggers cause i can figure out how to put the song, its just that when i change the offset time it dont save
thank you so much
thank you!
Every thanks man I didint know why the trigger didint work bc i forgot to put spawn trigger😅
Same thing for like shader triggers and Sound effect triggers?
thanks this helped a lot👍
No problem 👍
@@absention390Do sequence pls
thank you
Thanks Bro You Earn A Sub And A Like For Helping Me. Could You Do Static Camera Next? I Need Help On That On.
What specifically do you need help on
Static Camera is just a way to focus the camera on a specific object. Place down an object, give it a group ID, and then put a static camera trigger to focus on that group. You can also pair it with Zoom triggers
Thanks bro now I can make a Buck Shot roulette like level
My favorite thing is when the rifle very obviously has 0 blanks and 1 live round but the dealer still fires on himself lmao
thanks!
Thx. ❤
I wanna make a boss fight with a phase where there are saws and there are 2 possible outcomes of a gap in a column of saws, like the fun with 2.2 random trigger video robtop did.
How do i do that?
I don't know how.. But good
Luck I believe in you!
Thankss it work
Thanks
thank you bro i was so confused for like no reason
No problem, glad it helped
thank you for helping me, because I didn’t do spawn trigger bruh
thanks
If you wanna toggle trigger version
Add random trigger
Put the id
Make the trigger and put multi trigger and spwn trigger
Now i finally know how to make limbo keys...
ty!!!!
i have a question, so when i use this trigger 50% chance it always selects the second group id to trigger and never the first one, unless i put the chance to 99, i tried i think 26 times already and it never selects the other group id. The chance is literally 50%. Does anyone know how to fix that? Its a pulse trigger if anyone needs to know that
can you make 1 object have 2 locations? im trying to make a key have 2 locations that are purely luck based for an escape room
For some reason people don't use this. This could really improve: Boss fights, memory, multiple paths. I guess people just thing it would make it less skill based. But i don't thing beatibg a level becose you know what's coming and every click is ingrained into your neurons is as interesting as the abilty to adapt, and pick up on clues.
thx alot
no problem
can you do one on how to use the gravity trigger
I have a Question.. How do you Use Multiple Random Triggers. I'm making a Randomized Level that needs a LOT of Random Triggers and Now Two Groups are being Activated at once. Could you take time to help me Troubleshoot this Problem?
just use multiple random triggers? alternatively use multiple spawn and random triggers/ sequence
Thanks now I can make hard levels so much hardly purely with luck
lucky draw!!!!
Thanksies mr sention
thank you now my xl demon has a 1% chance of spawning a frame perfect at the last jump /srs
i dont think the /srs mattered
yo so i have a question:
im building a level that uses an event trigger that spawns a sound effect every time you hit an orb - problem is, when you hit many orbs many times, the sound gets annoying and repetitive. i used a random trigger connecting two events triggers with different sfx, but the random trigger only activates per attempt (meaning one attempt will have the same sfx, but i want it to change half the time in each attempt) i tried using the advanced random trigger with 3 event triggers but still no luck. is there a way to fix this? or is there another trigger that does the same job, but perhaps by alternating the sounds in a loop?
Do random trigger spawn random triggers spawn random triggers which will spawn this
I used it but now they are going crazy
I wanted to smth that spawns 30% of the time a coin and 70% of the time it spawns a spike instead but it always shows be both :(
does it loop?
Thank you sir. W tutorial.
no problem merry christmas
How to use it in text?
can i make the random trigger do 1 out of 10 outcomes? kinda like a seed in sandbox games
yeah you set the probability in the trigger like I showed
He didnt mean that he meant:@@absention390
You can random trigger a random trigger
How do i do it with 5 groups
How do you make it so whenever you touch something, you beat the level?
Not entirely sure what “something” means but you can attach an event trigger or spawn trigger to and end trigger. Alternatively you can make the end trigger a touch trigger and put it wherever. I cover the End trigger in my Platformer Guide but it also works in normal levels
@@absention390 My bad I kind of screwed up I meant to attach the random amount of chance in order to win. For example, touching a bounce orb will have a 20 percent chance of you getting to the end.
Can you do how to use the keyframes (I don't know if that is the name xd)
The keyframes are basically advanced spawn triggers that you can use to activate certain things, its sort of weird and I haven't quite gotten the hang of exactly what I've tried with them, but I'll probably have a tutorial tomorrow if I figure them out to the point where I feel comfortable making something on it
I don't wanna create a guide with my current knowledge/what I've tested because I haven't tried everything and I want to be sure I'm not spreading misinformation
Of course, just of course it is
Of Course
If your still replying to comments, why does mine just NOT WORK, whatever I do, I’ve thrown out so many ideas because I can’t use the random or advrand without it just doing nothing. I can’t have anything work at all and I’ve watched so many tutorials. I really want to know how to use it because I really want to make levels with it 🙏🙏
How Limbo keys are random:
time to make a 1/100 chance level
lucky draw:
@@absention390changing it to 1/100000 now that i think about it
@@absention390i also want to make the player suffer by adding horrible gameplay
@@BraveJ28why didn't you make the random trigger so many it will make the level so much harder
I get how you can make something happen after "3 seconds". I don't get how can you make something happen every 3 seconds instead.
so you make something happen after three seconds using the time trigger and the event trigger I assume.
now there are two ways you can do something every two seconds. either by using ever increasing numbers, 3, 6, 9 and so on, or by "reusing" the number three. the latter is way more useful.
so we have to restart the time trigger. the way I do it (I'm not sure if it's the most optimal) is by using the item edit trigger.
I place an additional time trigger that starts paused (there is a checkbox in the time trigger) and will never start. it just stays at 0 (make sure that every time trigger has it's one item ID).
now you put the item ID of your paused time trigger in the item edit trigger as both item ID 1 and item ID 2 and set the checkbox next to them to "timer".
next you put the item ID of your time trigger that is counting to 3 as the target item ID in the item edit trigger and set the checkbox to timer as well.
everything else in there doesn't really matter.
basically, what this does is, adding up the time of your paused time trigger twice (which means 0 + 0) and sets your real timer to this calculated value.
now all you have to do is activate the item edit trigger as soon as your timer reaches 3, just like you activate whatever you want when the timer reaches 3 (make sure that "multi trigger" is active).
this will start the timer, after 3 seconds whatever you want to happen every 3 seconds happens and the timer is reset to 0 and it starts all over again.
so the loop itself consists of 4 triggers. 2 time triggers, one event trigger and an item edit trigger (because if the item edit trigger uses the same group ID as whatever else you wanna do, you only need one event trigger. you can also give the item edit it's own group ID. then you need an additional event trigger).
@@Alex66633 I already figured out myself after hours of experiments, but at that time i was so frustrated without having an answer. Now that i know, it became very easy, and i knew that it was easy, but i was very confused at first. Your explanation is somehow too complicated, and different from what i made. I just made 2 timers with spawn trigger, one is activated by the additional single-use timer, and the other 2 both activate each other. While they are doing that, they also activate the item i need with the same group ID.
Why is it broken on mobile I can’t do it I literally did all of this
Thanks for being super specific about which chapter you followed and what you've tested so far
im still confused. it still doesn't work.
please provide more information
why does it never work I hate this trigger
be more specific
From random import *
Python is cringe
#include
It’s not working
Ini Bekerja !
isnt working

Hot 🥵
Nice joke in the thumbnail, haha…
You are speed running
i'm tryna make this th-cam.com/video/aLhcmvu4dSo/w-d-xo.html in geometry dash, do you have ideas?
I don’t understand
Random is a trigger that will trigger other events.
Say you want to randomly pick between two triggers, Trigger A and Trigger B.
You set up Triggers A & B the same way you would normally, but then give them their own groups and mark them as "Spawn Triggered".
Then, edit the random trigger. Add Trigger A & B groups into it, and then set the % chance that A gets chosen over B.
Giving me more information instead of "I don't understand" would help as well

I kind of managed to make it work, I was trying to make a part randomly select between ship and ufo (I was going to include wave and swing but ditched that when I found out you can only do 2) I managed to make the ufo portal move away 50% of the time but the ship portal doesn’t move, when the ufo portal doesn’t move though it does go into ufo though, so it kind of works
@@CinnaBox Try using toggle triggers instead. Build both of the portals at the same spot, but give the UFO portal ID 1, and the Ship portal ID 2. Then, make two toggle triggers, and make one of them toggle 1, and the other toggle 2. Then, give the toggle triggers groups 3 and 4.
So to recap, your UFO portal is ID 1.
Ship Portal is ID 2.
Before the portals, you have two toggle triggers. One of them Toggles 1 (the UFO portal). This trigger has Group ID 3. The next one Toggles 2 (The Ship Portal). That trigger has group ID 4.
Next, set up a random trigger wherever you want it to make that decision. Make the random trigger target 3 & 4. Set the probability to whatever you want.
let me know if you need more help/I could probably make an unlisted video for you
@@absention390I think I did the same, but both Toggles activate instead of one
@@absention390
yeah I literally can’t figure out what to do
