- In this video, we'll show you how to quickly and easily change the air filter in your 2007-14 GM truck or SUV. This is a simple DIY task that anyone can do, and it can help improve your vehicle's performance and fuel economy.
To get started, you'll need a new air filter and a torx bit. You can find both of these items at your local auto parts store.
Once you have your tools and supplies, follow these simple steps:
1. Locate the air filter box. It's usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
2. Use the torx to loosen the four screws that secure the air filter box cover.
3. Remove the air filter box cover and take out the old air filter.
4. Inspect the old air filter for any dirt or debris. If it's very dirty, it's time to replace it.
5. Install the new air filter, making sure that it's seated properly.
6. Replace the air filter box cover and secure it with the four screws.
That's it! You've now successfully changed the air filter in your 2007-14 GM truck or SUV.
Here are some additional tips for changing your air filter:
It's a good idea to change your air filter every 12,000-15,000 miles, or more often if you drive in dusty or dirty conditions.
When choosing a new air filter, make sure it's the correct size and type for your vehicle. You can find this information in your owner's manual.
If you're having trouble finding the air filter box, or if you're not sure how to change the air filter yourself, consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic.
