Thanks buddy, unfortunately the mk1 lights leave a little to be desired that’s for sure 😂. I want to look at upgrading the projectors etc but quite costly
I'm doing my lights right now, got a spare set for a good deal. The adjusters as well as the assembly they adjust are prone to cracking or breaking, so be mindful. Changing the color from black to even gunmetal or silver makes a huge difference in the look. You guys are so lucky they didn't stick that huge orange reflector in your housings like they did in the US.

Yeah that’s what I’m leaning towards I think for mine. Just need to decide silver or grey inner trim

The only aftermarket thing my TT came with when I bought were headlights and they’re soooo nice, also the mk1 had a lot of good tail light options
Are they similar to the ones shown in the video? What are they like at night?
@@TheParrottBros they are actually similar to stock but they have a different led pattern, I couldn’t find them online when I looked so I’m not sure where they were purchased.

Nice work Dom! I’m surprised with the volume of cars still about there are not many options. I think the after market ones stop it “looking” like a TT if that makes sense!
Yeah I guess it was never a popular option, specially as most tt’s have xenons so not a simple swap over
People also used to do angel eyes conversions to their headlights as DRL's/sidelights which looked very nice - might be another option for a video.

I'm with you Dom, those new headlights look gawdy!! The painted originals look pretty nice. I'm looking for a new set of factory lights. Mine currently has the aftermarkets that leak. 😥

Where can we buy those sequential indicator strips from?
are there new lens available currently?
I’m keen to use the heat gun to pull my lenses off and try painting the inside as well.
As I’ve sanded and 2pac cleared the outside, and they look really good, but when you turn the lights on you can see heaps of cracks, like a cracked windshield pattern.

In the uk you can get them from ebay, im guessing you will have either ebay or a similar place to get hold of them, if you search sequential indicators usually they come up. will be doing a splitting video very soon :)
lenses im not 100% sure on, last i heard you could but they are not cheap, you may be able to split them and sort them by cleaning the inside and going over the outside a little more :)

Yeah they do at a little bit to the look I must admit. Plus a nice daytime running light might look cool
I would definitely like to see a video on the led sttrobing upgrade. I think I could get the lights out on my own so maybe do an upgrade video then a video on how to remove them... Yeah it's backwards. Great videos keep them coming.
Haha I’ve already done a removal video, will pull them apart in next few weeks and see what I can do 👍🏻

i know old video but have you looked at the silver reflector bowl behind the projector lens? the ones on my car have lost its silvering so i bought some second hand ones and they were exactly the same, couldnt find any new ones. and because plastic its a chemical silvering not electrical. 20 year+ cars now could explain why your seeing bad light output also. worth a look next time you have a chance. im thinking of trying some of that brightest paint (glow in the dark when off could be a cool effect) or just silver paint to test if its better. but professional silvering would be best as its mirror finish .
nvm just got recomended a newer vid by you that explains the reflector lol.
@@c0wsg0m00 great comment and yes at some point we will need to try and find a way to fix the silvering and at present I haven’t found anyone who can do it professionally and I’ve been looking 😂

On ebay they are readily available and usually only about £10
Do you have to replace the original lights with orange lights with the clear indicator mod?
I would imagine you would need an orange lamp yes

You would have to measure up your headlight I’m afraid I can’t remember. I believe I ordered 30cm ones

Hi Martin, there's plenty in various lengths on eBay and Ali-Express, look for the ones in white silicon tubes, these look the best when fitted.

how do you know if you have halogen or xenon?
The yellow sticker on the top of the light usually says xenon on if they are xenon lights

Whats that front bumper at 05:25?
So that is a stock bumper, with the number plated smoother out with a splitter from eBay bonded on and made to look one.
