(1975 -- 78 ) Me and my mates as Kids would bike it to Morleys Cafe , Markham Moor and go Truck Spotting . P.H.H. stood out because of the Grey cab , white roof and 60% of the time have a low loader on the back .
What a great video many thanks guys , you always come up with wounderful videos like this special one , great to see the F 86 lined up there with the mighty F 88 the F10 the F12 and the Mercedes units , great selection of trailers for specialised jobs , nice to see all the draglines like the RBs NCKs and the scrapes well done folks , i must watch this video real soon again , best wishes and have a happy Christmas to all the folk on here ,many thanks for all the videos all year it was a pleasure to watch ,
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, I'd forgotten all about Peterborough Heavy Haulage... They were bought out in the 90's by W.CARTER HAULAGE, WOODBRIDGE, SUFFOLK. I worked for Carters for 5yrs in the 90's. I was based at their Southampton depot working on Containers, I really enjoyed my time with them.. From there I moved to DEBEN TRANSPORT a Felixstowe company also based in Southampton, I did 5yrs with them too. I was wondering if you'd be able to make an episode featuring CARTER'S and or DEBEN'S, I'd find that very interesting.. Thanks Buddy, Merry Christmas & Healthy 2023 to you and your family 🎅🌲🍻👍
Me to , i used to drive from Tuxford (A1) down to Bedford , collect about 4 ton gear cogs , that had been dipped in Wax to protect them rubbing each other in heavy duty cardboard box's . Deliver to Aveling Barford , where a P.H.H. truck was always in , loading up . Then i'd continue upto Dosco @ Tuxford , drop of there Gear cogs for the mining machines .
I love seeing these tractor units from the 60s to 80s, the types I used to drive on general and heavy haulage. Great vid of one of the classic firms of the time.
Seeing the snow in the yard is a rare sight theses days. I remember the snow would hang around for so long it would turn grey The only place you see snow theses days is on Christmas cards
Nice to see all the low loaders. My father drove low loaders most of his career. Brings back a lot of memories as a boy.

Why do we use the American terminology whats wrong with lorries and lorry drivers?
Exactly, I always say Lorries & Lorry Driver, because that's what I am, I've been a Lorry Driver for 42yrs.
