Wow, I didn’t know Here Comes the Sun was written by George! Looks like he and I have a similar taste in music. I hope you all enjoyed my reaction video! A new reaction to Help! will be posted next week-hope you’ll like that one too!❤
George wrote this while he played Hookie from the business meetings the band was having that day. He was at Eric Clapton's house in the backyard "garden" on one of those first days of spring when the sun shines bright and the birds come out, especially after a long winter of tensions with the band and the suits surrounding them.
George Harrison was their secret weapon, guitar player who influenced countless others and the song or 2 he would write for every record had a style and vibe all his own. For more, check out his magnum opus solo triple album, filled with great songs that never made it on any later Beatles albums, his great All Things Must Past. 2 Discs of brilliant studio songs and a third of live jams with a bunch of awesome musicians, one of the best albums ever. Do the title cut and listen in wonder.
The Beatles wrote so many great songs that everyone you ask will have a different top 10. And the same people will have a different top 10 over time. Great reaction!
Actually, in that group, Ringo was the peace maker. George developed a strained attitude to both John and Paul over time. It was Ringo who for the most part, got on with the other three pretty much the whole time. Ringo had the patience of a saint in a lot of sessions, particularly towards the end.
Love your reactions to The Beatles music. I've been listening to them since 1964 and love seeing first time listeners. I'm 72 now and never get tired of their songs.
I would also recommend "She's Leaving Home" "Day in a Life" "Strawberry Fields" "Elanor Rigby" "Dear Prudence" "Oh Darlin" and Really any of their tunes they are all different
For sheer exuberance and, for the time utterly new arrangement, try the early 'She Loves You'. Bob Dylan's favourite as it introduced the whole world of popular music to new levels of complex chords with stunning harmonies, kicked him into leaving folk music. Up to then, most pop music was played by professional session musicians with the pretty boys and girls maybe singing, maybe just miming. The 1950s of writer-player-singers like Churk Berry, Jerry-Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, were fading. Even Beach Boys used The Wrecking Crew and only Roger McGuinn was allowed to play on Byrds first record
Thank you for this lovely reaction! The Beatles wrote so many masterpieces that the top 10 most listened to is just a tiny fraction of their amazing catalog. I'd recommend listening to "Nowhere Man", "Let It Be", "She Said She Said", "Dear Prudence", "Eight Days a Week", "Eleanor Rigby", "Oh Darling", "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "With A Little Help From My Friends", "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds", "She's Leaving Home", "Strawberry Fields Forever", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Hey Bulldog", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "Michelle", "And Your Bird Can Sing", "She Loves You", "Across the Universe", "Can't Buy Me Love"... and many more ☺
George always had to fight for his songs being in a band with Lennon and McCartney, but I think that helped him become the songwriter he was. By the time the band split, George had become their equal. Check out George's first solo album "All Things Must Pass". He had a backlog of great songs, and they all came spilling out on that record.
The late George Harrison on the lead vocals for this one! This is from the their final album, ABBEY ROAD, released in 1969.(Let It Be was released a year later but was recorded in 1969 as well). There are other songs from ABBEY ROAD that definitely need to be in your Beatles' top 10 list, including "Oh, Darling", "Because", and "Golden Slumbers/The end". 😊
I grew up with their music in the 1960's (saw them live at Shea Stadium in 1965). I have a lifetime of knowing them and know every note of every song, and I'm with you on this being their single greatest song. My late wife loved it so much that I was luckily able to bring in a musician who sung it to her on her last day--it was the last song she ever heard. Now I love it even more. Yes, their best song.
The Beatles were masters of writing/composing catchy pop songs that caught you, only to realize they were nearly always had deeper meanings. Brilliant!
Wonderful, heartfelt reaction. It's history's greatest band at their best. The melody, harmonies, mix and arrangement are Beatles magic. What I like about it most is that George wrote and sang it. He always got the rap that he had the grand misfortune of being a good songwriter in a band with the two best. Yet this is the most listened to Beatles song on Spotify. Well done Mr. Harrison. RIP.
George Harrison wrote this in Eric Clapton's garden using one of Clapton's acoustic guitars. This song was inspired by the long winters in England, which Harrison thought would last forever. Harrison first played it live at the 1971 Concert for Bangla Desh, which he organized to bring aid to that country.
Nearly 300 more songs to go! Mind boggling quality, output and talent, and all within 8 years! Insane. Easily the greatest pop-rock - blue-eyed-blues - soul - world music - innovators in history
I love your reaction to this beautiful song. George Harrison wrote a lot of wonderful music. Ounce the magic of The Beatles touches your soul. There is no going back. They were unique and so special. There will never ever be a musical group like them. I have been under their spell for over 40 years. And continue to feed my soul and heart with their music . I hope you continue to discover more of their music. There is so much more for you to hear .

This is The Beatles #1 played song on Spotify and is now approaching 1 Billion plays. I've been listening to The Beatles since 1964 and trust me, there's no way that there is a 10 best song list. There's just too many great ones to have a top 10 list. If you dive into this band your list is gonna change all the time The best way the best way is chronologically from 1963 to 1969. Let It Be was their last Lp released in 1970 but was actually recorded in Jan.- Feb. 1969. "Abbey Road" released in September, 1969 is actually their last Lp recorded together. This song is from that album and so are "Something" (another George song) and John's "Come Together" is also from that Lp. If I had to choose my favorite Beatles song (gun to my head) I'd probably choose "Here Comes The Sun" and John's "Nowhere Man" would be right there too. One hell of a great song. Peace ❤
The song has aged very well. By that I mean it has become more popular with fans as time passes. If there had been such a thing as iTunes or Spotify back around 40-45 years ago this song would probably not crack the top 5 Beatles songs. Of course I could be wrong.
If I remember correctly, George was visiting Eric Clapton and borrowed his guitar. It had been a turbulent time for The Beatles and things were finally getting better between the band members. He walked around the grounds and started writing this classic. George ended up being a fabulous writer.
This is a George Harrison song. If you like this, you’ll like his first two solo hits after he left the Beatles, “What Is Life” and “My Sweet Lord”. And if you like those, you can dive deeper into his first solo album, All Things Must Pass. Great reaction!
So fun to share this experience of your first hearing the Beatles. They were amazing. I dont regenera hearing you say it was on the list but The Walrus is a must hear. That said you really cant go wrong with any Beatles song. They were all good and totally different sounding.
Ah Steph! You and I have the same favourite Beatles song! Yes, it is in my SUV and it gets played a lot, even in the middle of a Canadian winter, so that I keep my eye on the ball and always realize that spring and sunshine always follow winter! 💖💖💖
There are so many great songs that the Beatles have that makes it very hard to say which song is my favorite. Not to mention giving a top ten list. They have a vast catalogue of great hits. Sometimes my favorite song will change over time. I can tell you that "In My Life" has been one of my favorites for a long time.
I love the song mostly because it's actually so dear and is so different from other Beatles songs that are all above love only. This song just apreciates a natural element that we all see every day.
The Beatles are so great, so popular. So huge that any one of us could make our own personal list of top 10 Beatles songs and no 2 lists will be alike. Those guys were that good to the point where their music. It far above any other rock rope in history to where there's almost no difference between the greatness of one song and the greatness of another song of theirs. I will say that this particular song to. Day is one that would end up. Most people's top 10 list.
I love how genuine your reaction is to this first listen and I must say your the warm feelings this song invoked in you were quite infectious through the screen. All of us Beatles fans love rediscovering this music through your perspective.
Here's my top ten Beatles songs: 1) A Day In The Life 2) I Am The Walrus 3) Yesterday 4) Tomorrow Never Knows 5) Within You Without You 6) She's So Heavy 7) Here Comes The Sun 8) Hey Jude 9) Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds 10) Let It Be.
Your happiness and joy is very contagious Miss Steph. It's nice that cute young girls like you are discovering the music of The Beatles and enjoying it. Other songs from the Abbey Road album you should check out are Come Together with John Lennon on vocals. Oh Darling with Paul McCartney on vocals. Octopus Garden with Ringo Starr on vocals. Another song with George Harrison on vocals called Something. The Beatles and the solo music by George, John, Paul and Ringo are my favorites of all time.
I'm fortunate enough to live at 1a Abbey Road next the Beatles crossing and Abbey Road studios. Every days i see hundreds re-enacting the 4 Beatles crossing, its a testament to them. Their music changed me, changes my life and even changed where i lived. The song is a marvel of melody, rhythm, vocals and lyrics espousing the calm after the storm. .
What an exquisite reaction from you, Steph. ❤ Yes, this song is a real masterpiece. It's a (lead guitarist) George Harrison composition, while the vast majority of The Beatles tunes are composed by rhythm guitarist John Lennon or bass player Paul McCartney. Here are a few Beatle gems not mentioned in your list. "Here, There and Everywhere," "You're Gonna Lose That Girl," "This Boy," and "Nowhere Man." They are all epic, in my opinion.😊👍
The power of music: in 1965, while playing in neighbors house, she handed me a plastic guitar and said "you be the Beatles and I am the screaming fan". I stood on her step stool with guitar in hand and sang "I Want to Hold your Hand"; to her screams and jumps. Imagine, no internet for another 30 years and only transistor radios to channel their music. Their sound was absolutely everywhere then..... and we were only 5!
Every one feels better when the sun comes out and george captures that lovely feeling when you feel the warmth on your face god bless you george for making us feel better in this sometimes gloomy world of ours
A top 12 songs (in no particular order): A day in the life Come together Here comes the sun Hey Jude Let it be Something Strawberry fields forever Yesterday While my guitar gently weeps Help! Eleanor Rigby In my life
Currently the most popular Beatles song in the world! Definitely in their top 10, heres mine: 1. Norwegian Wood 2. Strawberry Fields 3. Happiness is a Warm Gun 4. I Am the Walrus 5. You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away 6. Get Back 7. Eleanor Rigby 8. Rain 9. Come Together 10. Penny Lane
The Beatles change the way they record their albums in 1965/66 with the album Revolver (Im only sleeping). In 1967 they went psychedelic with Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Pepper's.. album (Strawberry, Lucy in the Sky). Helter Skelter is probably the first metal song in the history (John and Paul switched instruments for that song).
Hey Steph giant Beatles fan here. I think this might be a better universal list of their most famous songs to start with in no particular order. Seriously..I’m a professional..these are the songs you want;) 1. All you need is Love. 2. Yesterday 3. Penny Lane 4. Strawberry Fields 5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 6. Come Together 7. The Long and Winding Road 8. Revolution 9. A day in the life 10. Something
Great song or what! George Harrison, stepping out of the shadow of Lennon/McCartney with an all time feel good song that is therapeutic and beautiful. It is jarring to hear it on the magnificent Abbey Road album, when you get around to listening to the entire album someday, this songs starts right after the deep heaviness and abrupt ending of the bluesy proto-metal last few moments of I Want You (She's So Heavy). THAT song totally blew minds back in 1969, including mine, they were going out with a bang on that tune and it ends and the song you just reacted to begins. That album will so blow you away, you have a bit of evidence in what you just heard but seriously, this is almost always in a top 5 albums of all time debate. Magnificent, enjoy lovely lady! 🔥✌🎵
it must be remembered when these pre-1980 songs were first released we didn't have the videos attached to them. we fell in love with the MUSIC, the song itself. not the video. so i always recommend first listening to the official versions of these songs straight off the album they were released on. each original beatle song is available on you tube in that format. only the song's title and the cover of the album accompanies the song. this is the best way to really experience the beatles. then you can move on to all the other variations and videos. the beatles are a very special and unique experience. thanks for the video.
Remember the difference between a band like the Beatles and say many solo artist is that they had so many different combinations which keeps their music fresh. So many groups are one dimensional where you have one person singing all of the songs or playing one instrument. With the Beatles you had 4 singers. If Lennon is singing then you have McCartney and Harrison on background vocal. If you have Paul singing, you had John and George on background vocals. You had 4 part harmonies, duets, sharing the lead, So you have all of these different vocal arrangements. 3 played guitar. 2 played bass, 2 played drums. 2 played keyboards. 1 played harmonica. 3 wrote the lyrics, and 3 wrote the music.
New subscriber here. I was 13 when the Beatles came out and I have every single record they ever produced. Here comes the Sun is definitely one of my favorites. Another great favorite also written by George Harrison is While My guitar Gently Weeps.
Every morning while getting ready for school this song would come on the radio. 1968-69ish it was a long time ago. Hearing that brought back those young feelings and thoughts. Thank you. Haven't listen to the song in decades.
I've been around for 71 years and I love so many of there songs. They rock you and then bring out warm but real emotions to the heart. First time seeing them, was own the Ed Sullivan show, And i was 11 years old WOW! Thanks 👍
Great reaction!! It’s always nice to watch someone discover the Beatles. As a lifelong fan, my top ten are: I want to Hold Your Hand, In My Life, Help, Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together, Something, Long and Winding Road…. Tough to name only ten, with so many amazing songs to choose from. .. can’t wait for more.
Such beautiful imagery associated with this song the way seasons transition. In this case, from 'the long, cold lonely winter' to the loveliness, reinvigoration, and rejuvenation of the springtime. You really captured it perfectly in your description. George Harrison, like his fellow Beatles was simply masterful. Happy you shared your thoughts with us.
It’s more about the range of different songs/sounds that make the Beatles unique. First two Beatle’s movies are my favorite- A Hard Days Night 1964, Help 1965
George was going through a rough time during the final Beatles times. There were a lot of bussiness meetings and having to deal with lawyers and stuff he just wasn't interested in. One day he "bailed out" of one of those meetings and spent the day with his friend Eric Clapton in his garden instead. That's where he got the inspiration for this song.
Almost all of the Beatles' songs are beautiful in one way or another, and there are so many that it's hard to recommend any, but you can't miss listening to the ones on the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
As a Beatles fan AND a wannabe rock bassist in the 60's ... I'll give you ten (10) Beatle songs that we played over and over and over ... (1) Long Tall Sally (2) Ticket To Ride (3) And Your Bird Can Sing (4) The Night Before (5) Eleanor Rigby (6) Lady Madonna (7) Got To Get You Into My Life (8) Tomorrow Never Knows (9) Hey Bulldog (10) It's All Too Much ❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤
Another very positive song of The Beatles: Good day sunshine! One to dream: the long and winding road! Michelle and Girl you should listen to, either! You will joy so much! I am fan of their songs since the 70-ies!
hey jude, let it be; eight days a week has a great video about the epic shea stadium show in 1965, in my life. my guitar gently weeps etc. they did over 200 songs in 8 years. greatest music written in the 20th century. BEATLES FORVER!
Haha Great reaction! Every top 10 Beatles list will be different...they have so many good songs, so trying to pick just 10 leaves out so many other good ones (no matter who writes the list).
Love your reactions to Beatles songs Miss Steph! This is a very deep rabbit hole you're going down. Another song written by George is "Something...I know you'll like it.
I discovered the Beatles when I was 16 in the late 70s. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. I have tried to make a top ten list but it’s impossible due to them having so many great songs. Even when I went through my heavy metal phase I still always found time for them. Just were an awesome band to listen to.
I love The Beatles tune that is similar to this song. Its called, "I'll Follow the Sun". It goes, "But tomorrow may rain soooo I'll follow the sun....". Another sunny song, though not a Beatles song, is, "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and The Waves. And another one which is a simple love balled called, "Sunshine" by the '70's hard rock band Nazareth. Similarly John Denver did a folk ballad called, "Sunshine On My Shoulders". And the '70's Canadian band Lighthouse did a pop song called "Sunny Days". Also, Terry Jacks did a hit pop song called "Seasons in the Sun".
George Harrison was really rising to his songwriting talent at this point in the Beatles phenomenon and this was one of his best. He had also just bought a Moog Synthesizer and was one of the first to use it in a song, with beautiful results. He was a gentleman who is sorely missed.
One thing great about The Beatles is that John can sing, Paul can sing and George can sing. So it's interesting and all three of them had their own masterpieces.
Hello Steph. Always a pleasure to watch you. As an old fan of the Beatles, I'm particularly pleased. You should definitely not miss the live version of ‘Revolution’. It's not on your list. Best regards from Germany.❤❤
I just love Harrison’s songs. Always soothing. There are many Beatles songs not mentioned in the top 10 that are even better than those so hopefully you’ll get around to it. But I’m excited for Help! The song is nice but the promo video is so funny, just them being goofballs, you’ll love it.

Great song to play on the first day of spring ;-) I just noticed that the stork in the video was flying to/over Kew Gardens in West London... One of my favourite songs and my favourite park together! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They wrote and recorded over 200 songs. You could ask 10 different people for a list of their 10 favorite songs and it's conceivable that no song is listed twice.
I guarantee you you could ask 100,000 people their top five And I'm willing to bet nobody's top five is the same. Their music was just that amazing. I will also say I guarantee you lifelong Beatles fans like myself My top five from when I first discovered them is different than 30 years ago, 20 years, hell even 5 years ago. Some songs develop new meaning over time.
Back in the days when Flash Mobs were a thing some musicians invaded a licensing office waiting room in Spain. They brought smiles to the folks in one of the boring places on Earth. Here Comes the Sun was perfect for it.
This has always been my favorite song from George and the Beatles. I love the video, especially when the stork comes flying over the Indian couple holding each other. That's Krishna (God) and his loving gopi, Radha . It always makes me emotional, maybe because it really reminds me of George. He was very involved with the Hare Krishnas and it makes me miss him .
This sounds like a pretty straight forward song with the acoustic guitars. That was one of the amazing things about the Beatles. They made everything looks so easy, like their vocal harmonies on stage with the audience screaming and no decent sound system at that time. In this case, if you go to a video breakdown of the recording of this song, the level of detail to make it "sound" simple is crazy. But, they were the Beatles.
Unlike any other band the Beatles had so many great songs. Nobody would name the same song. My top 5 are Across the Universe Elenore Rigby Norwegian Wood While my guitare gently weeps Hey Bulldog
The whole side 2 of the Beatles "Abby Road' is one of my favorite sides of an album ever....I think it needs to be played in its entirety and lots of the songs go right from one song into the next...But "Here comes the sun" does stand alone to open the side just worthy of being added in cause it just starts the whole side off on a good vibe.
Wonderful reaction. This is one of the masterpieces by George, surpassed maybe only by Something. You will have a long way to explore Beatles catalogue. It's almost impossible in my opinion to make a list of the most beautiful Beatles songs. I believe their psychedelic phase (Revolver and Sgt Pepper) is the most profound and innovative one. You will experience an infinite joy in exploring this magic and mysterious phase. Any album of their maturity (from Rubber Soul on) is a unique masterpiece.
Good one Steph... Some of their early, old school, rock are also great. I will check for some vid?... Maybe" Bay Boy? or "Long Tall Sally? Great almost, punk rock stuff.

The best way the best way is chronologically from 1963 to 1969.
If I had to choose my favorite Beatles song
(gun to my head) I'd probably choose "Here Comes The Sun" and John's "Nowhere Man" would be right there too.
The last Beatles song you hear is your favorite. They challenged all genres & their catalog of 8 years of recordings is amazing in its diversity.
This is a George Harrison song. If you like this, you’ll like his first two solo hits after he left the Beatles, “What Is Life” and “My Sweet Lord”. And if you like those, you can dive deeper into his first solo album, All Things Must Pass. Great reaction!
See how good of a singer George was, R.I.P.! Also, Blackbird should have been on the list, IMO!
"Let It Be" is my favorite song of The Beatles.🙂❤
Me too. A must listen. Prepare tissues, please.
Now your list is more like it. She needs a better list though all their songs are worth a listen (except #9, LOL!).
Love it, do more Beatles ❤

This is one of my favourite Beatles tracks, and my favourite George tune. Beautiful.
Seriously..I’m a professional..these are the songs you want;)
1. All you need is Love.
2. Yesterday
3. Penny Lane
4. Strawberry Fields
5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
6. Come Together
7. The Long and Winding Road
8. Revolution
9. A day in the life
"first listening to the . . . songs straight off the album" That should apply to all songs by all artists for all time . . . . :-)
Cheer Down live in Japan from 1991 is a great George Harrison song, so smooth on the slide guitar!
New subscriber here. I was 13 when the Beatles came out and I have every single record they ever produced. Here comes the Sun is definitely one of my favorites.
Another great favorite also written by George Harrison is While My guitar Gently Weeps.
All you need is sun and love!
Steph, I love seeing your enthusiasm for the Beatles!
Those ten are the tip of the Beatles iceberg. So many more brilliant songs.
"Revolution" "Get Back" and "Helter Skelter" should be on any Beatles song list!
🌞
🫶 Thnx Steph
Another easy going Beatles song you might like is "Something".
Rock🤘😎
Every morning while getting ready for school this song would come on the radio.
1968-69ish it was a long time ago.
Hearing that brought back those young feelings and thoughts.
Thank you. Haven't listen to the song in decades.
What a wonderful song. Loved your reaction.
Imagine us old people witnessing these guys in real time. Changed the landscape of music forever.
Yes I remember seeing them on Ed Sullivan and that's all we talked about the next day in school.
My Sweet George ❤❤❤🎸🎸🎸
I've been around for 71 years and I love so many of there songs. They rock you and then bring out warm but real emotions to the heart. First time seeing them, was own the Ed Sullivan show, And i was 11 years old WOW! Thanks 👍
I was 10 at the ed sullivan show....when they showed john lennon...below him they wrote "Sorry girls....he's married!"
Very upbeat, that is what attracts you to it. Great reaction. 😊
I went to two weddings in the early 70's that played this song when the new couple walked back down the aisle after of the ceremony.
(1) Long Tall Sally (2) Ticket To Ride (3) And Your Bird Can Sing (4) The Night Before (5) Eleanor Rigby (6) Lady Madonna (7) Got To Get You Into My Life (8) Tomorrow Never Knows (9) Hey Bulldog (10) It's All Too Much ❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤
So happy to learn about this channel! I love your energy so much and appreciation for music. Lots of support and am a new subscriber for you😊
Another very positive song of The Beatles: Good day sunshine!
My favourite Beatles song is Something and my favourite George song post Beatles is Give Me Love both written by him.
My favorite is "In My Life".
One thing great about The Beatles is that John can sing, Paul can sing and George can sing. So it's interesting and all three of them had their own masterpieces.
Love your reaction. You remind me of myself every time a new Beatles album came out, starting about 60 years ago!

Beautiful song. The first Beatles album my mom bought us for the kids in 1964 when I was 7 years old. They were an incredible band. Enjoy….l.
Great song to play on the first day of spring ;-) I just noticed that the stork in the video was flying to/over Kew Gardens in West London... One of my favourite songs and my favourite park together! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Loved this song when I was a kid, Steph!! Still listen to it today 😊check out the song from the Beatles, Something!
@@bamacopeland4372 Well put!
George wrote some great songs. The only difference between his songs and the Lennon-McCartney songs is just that Paul and John wrote more of them.
This Song, your reaction, tears in my eyes.
Lovely song and one of my favorites.
My top 5 are
Across the Universe
Elenore Rigby
Norwegian Wood
While my guitare gently weeps
Hey Bulldog
