Hey @LamboSC2! There's one interaction you missed, from the latest patch. +1 carapace makes banelings take 3 baneling hits instead of 2 (16-1=15 damage per baneling, but factor in 1 regen). This is only possible because banelings damage vs non-light units was decreased, and banelings aren't light units. This makes ling/bane clown style a bit stronger with +1 carapace.
placing the evos depends alot on the style you want to play and what happens in the earlygame. So i can't really give you an exact timing for it. The only one i can tell you is that you can place your evo in zvz at around 4 minutes and it should be fine. In the other matchups i'd suggest starting the upgrades after you start the lair (right before or after you start the lair upgrades like banespeed/roachspeed).
Thanks for another nice video. Question: Can you make a Video about Ling/Bane fights and how to micro it perfect!? in the early game it comes to so many micro fights with ling, bane thats a big problem for many people I guess. Thank you
This was a bit rambly. A script of sorts on something like that would help a lot to make it more concise and easier to follow. I'm saying that as someone who has a lot of trouble in presenting stuff without any preparation even though I might be well versed in the subject.
@@LamboSC2 Yeah, I just personally see this as a bit of a trap (for my case at least) where I'm like: "I even prepared the slides well, I shouldn't need to practice the presentation, right?" And then come issues like the flow of the slides not lining up well with a good flow for a presentation, some things take longer than I thought to explain and so I might have to rearrange the presentation itself here and there (also adjusting the slides in turn) and there might be things that are better to describe differently in words than how they are in a slide as otherwise it can get tiring or needlessly difficult to follow (like in some formula or while using some mathematical notation that doesn't roll off the tongue). I would guess that this last bit doesn't apply in the case of an upgrade video, but I think there is some merit in at least sharing here part of my experience in preparing a presentation.
I listened through ZvZ and a little through ZvT, but I found it confusing that you didn't give maybe a standard macro build to help with the timings. While you're talking about things in general that are really helpful, is there generally a good time based on minutes for Zerg to start upgrades? Before lair? After a third hatch? 3-4 minutes into the game? 5-8 min? I don't have a reference, and maybe this comment is whining for too much handholding.
That's always up to the build that you/your opponent plays, so it's not really something i can bring up that easily. I would need to talk about multiple different scenarios for each matchup and i generally dislike when people give random timings for stuff like evos since that changes with how good your earlygame is going. I will talk about exact evo chamber timings in more matchup specific guides, this was more to lay a foundation of knowing what upgrades are important and in what order you should get them.

@@LamboSC2 Overlord speed and/or burrow timings (or situations for their usefulness iyo). Speed upgrades in general I suppose, should they be the target for as soon as the buildings finish? Or is it all relative to each game?
@@garnetg987 Overall this video is not for timings it is for importance and order in which you get the upgrades as a foundation, the timings will be taught lateron in matchup specific guides/builds. For the overlord speed the rule of thumb is always to get it once you have the money for it unless it's part of the build. I didn't think i'd have to say to get the unit specific upgrades the moment you can, so i just said which ones to prioritize. In general you always want too get the upgrades for your units the moment you can in every matchup, so i talked about which one to prioritize instead. So the moment you finish your hydra den/roach warren+lair you get the speed upgrades, and the moment you finish your lurkerden+hive you get range etc.. Hope this helps a bit :)

I'd like to know when to exactly place the evos depending on matchup. This is just vaguely covered here.

genau das was ich gesucht habe :) danke für die videos :) ab nöchste woche üb ich wieder was :) der zerg rythm sieht gut aus :)
Lambo is actually carrying me to diam/master, thx dude
Does the new 5.0.11 patch change the priority of the hydra upgrades? now that hydras start faster, does it make sense to get range first?
Thank you for the videos the past few weeks
LMAO havent seen the video yet, but I already love the thumbnail. keep up the good work Lambo
Great video dawg! Keep up the great content. Oh and I am a fan of the soft background music.
omg, this is the topic that I want. When do I get my upgrades?
You are really pumping out quality content, keep it up!
Time for me to make yet another spreadsheet.
Overlord speed: compare this to Serral, who gets it super early in contrast in order to scout the opponents tech path.
Could you imagine if the next update(if there ever is one) makes it so that lurkers require researching burrow first to work?
Great guide
Thanks. this really help alot. ❤
Great work, Lambo. Keep it up! :)
Thanks professor zerg

what about lurker upgrades?
I did mention it in the video at some point, but in every matchup in almost every situation you should get range first :)
@@LamboSC2 Thanks! I must have missed that. Really helpful video :)
