Serral fan boy here. The way Serral moved his ground army and left it for a good portion of the game makes it look like to me that he just wanted to practice his broodlord micro :)

Great analysis. A few questions or points for discussion: You, Serral and Reynor have been mixing in 20 overlord as in this game. Is this more optimal if we’re planning on playing speed before 3rd hatch rather than 27 overlord? I’m assuming it’s also to do with a possible Scv block on the third too? Do you think Serral should have committed to killing a base at 85 drones? It seems like massing army at that drone count should be about aggression. If the T assumes a defensive posture and takes a fifth, the response in this game is to take 8 bases including some of the T’s: if this posture is adopted is the correct play to drone to 95 to mine out the bases faster? Having a larger army seems less optimal if the Terran isn’t pushing, so was part of the problem this game not identifying that defensive posture earlier and droning harder? I imagine you could drop that ten supply of srmy for more drones so long as you engage on creep?
Additionally, if Serral had given up the left at the timing you suggested and rotated to push the right side with broodlords, would it have been a good play to push the spores onto the high ground in front of the Terran fourth? I wonder whether you could defend the middle right base and prevent the liberator/ghost/tank push that happened in this game that way.
Going for the 20 Overlord is better specifically vs 2 rax reaper or a blocked 3rd hatch. If you want to go speed in a normal game, going for 27 overlord 28 hatch is still more efficient theoretically, but vs 2 rax reaper you'd lose that hatchery. For your second row of questions, as long as you mine the exposed bases with optimal saturation, a higher dronecount is not necessarily better. A higher army supply can let you take more effective trades and hold the Terran bases for longer, that's also why we transfer drones from our safe bases over. Usually Terrans will try to splitpush vs a Zerg trying to take exposed bases on both sides, so an extra 10-15 armysupply can be very usefull. I think in this game in particular a higher drone count initially would've been better, but it can be difficult to know how quick and commited a Terran will try to attack said bases, so I don't fault him for keeping a more competitive army supply.

@lambosc2 In 2018ish terrans used wall in with 3rd cc at natural then it changed to in base is it time to return to making it at natural to wall in so Serral and Reynor can't constantly get scv vs factory openings? Or is the knowledge of fast cc or not worth 3/4 worker dying?
You always put the 3rd cc in the natural wall if you go for 2 cc openers with a late 3rd base. If you go for quick 3cc you never make the cc in the natural, it has been this way for as long as i can remember. I believe 2cc openers were just more standard back then, which is probably why you remember them making the 3rd in the wall.
@@LamboSC2 it was when 2 1 1 was popular with fast 2 medivacs and 16 marine you'd move out and drop cc in your wall that might have been earlier than 2018 tbh.
I know Serral is making all this stuff look amazing but what do you think of Broodlords and Zerg late game Lambo? For a lowly diamond Broods are very hard to use now against Thors and I'm finding it very difficult to beat them with infestors or vipers when Thors supplemented by Vikings or something to keep the Infestors back...what would you suggest?
I believe at a level below top GM it is best to use Broodlords only as a surprise switch type of unit against Terran. If your opponent has too many tanks and no thors, you can try to hide 8-12 broodlords, attack with them and trade them out without intending to make them again afterwards. So i suggest to play your normal ground based army composition and use broodlords as a one time punch when your opponent is ill-prepared.
170 supply of broodlords, corruptors and infestors lost to ghosts and vikings. This is ridiculous. They nerfed broodlord range and fungal range but did nothing against ghosts. I'm not complaining 'cause most ladder matches doesn't reach endgame. But man, this game is literally joke to watch.
Thanks for the cast and the analysis of the game. From a casual point of view and experience, TvZ late game is just boring because it is very one-sided. it looks and feels like zerg has no tools.
Lambo, if you mine a base that "originally" belonged to your opponent, your opponent needs to do 36k better for one base alone if we assume 18k minerals on one, since you gained 18k while he lost 18k.
my favorite part is when lambo showed up on the screen and said "it's lambo time" and lamboed all over the non believers (terran players); will watch later
I love your casting, but bro, you have got to allow the games audio to be played. We want to hear the units making sounds and attacking. It's part of the experience. Only hearing the audio from your voice is actually really boring. If you mix in some Ambient sound from the game, it would really increase your level of casting experience.
I had the sounds on, they were just really loud for me and not on the recording. That is because i play with really loud sounds and have them lowered in OBS so they are not as distracting if i play, however they were too loud and distracting for me during the cast so i lowered them. I'll try to remember boosting them up on obs next time i cast.
Havent finished watching bu: In the mid game why Clem just did not push with the 1 ball army? Instead seperating the armies into smaller groups. Positioning vs roach ravenger? If he pushed It would be probably over. Respecting ling run-bys? Base trade would go in T favour anyways
He tried for one big push but lost too many tanks while dealing with the big runbies from serral. I think Serral outplayed him for a bit there to stay alive with an inferior army.

This match makes Terran seem OP. Feel like there was so little Serral could do towards the endgame. (I’m at 44 minutes but I just don’t see what Serral could reasonably do.)
I disagree, its the other way around , Zerg had more than half the map by the 17 minute mark and then decided to play it defensively...for some reason, despite the fact that playing it offensively is 100% in his favour and he was not gonna trade effectively anyway. The best move would have been to just keep attacking. Delaying Clem would have been in his favour yet he failed to do that . In effect, the reality is that Zerg autowins any such scenarios if they don't stop attacking, but Serral just stopped attacking. In his second match at Katowice against Maru(the one that seemed most likely for Maru to stand a chance), he never stopped attacking and what do you know.... he won.

Broodlords are just useless. Damage output is just too low. They are OK only when there are no "Vikings" in the air. Compare the effectiveness of corruptors to broodlords in this game. Corruptor - infestor - ultra - lingbane seems like the answer in the late game. Or even corruptor-queen. Am I wrong here?
That ililili guy seems to be quite good, we should pay attention to him in the future
