    Maybe for some other videos you could name the compositions a bit slower or with some text? Sometimes it's difficult to follow up!

      well, this video was about the concept of having a gameplan with examples to make it more understandable. It was not to give you guys your exact gameplan. If I make a video about that i obviously would do it slower and much more precise :)

    Thanks Lambo, really awesome content as always. I just want to push back slightly on something you said, I'm good enough to know how bad I am at this game (4.4k mmr), but my games with the most early macro mistakes are those where I don't know what I should be doing so I'm not in auto pilot macro mode - either unable to scout opponent, or don't have a clue how to handle something. Any chance we'll see a guide to standard ZvT soon? hoping to get comfortable with the standard opener in every matchup.

    I have a question for my gameplan: I do enjoy playing late game in every matchup and have tried going for hydra/bane midgame (bane nest first, skipping roach warren - one of your builds) into late game vs protoss. You once said that a 6 gate timing with a lot of sentries is hard to hold, but you hardly see that, so I don´t mind. What my dumb ass always dies against is if they go for just a few void (3-5) into mass chargeloat and a few archons. They usually run zealots into the third and warp in in the main at the same time while unloading two archons and I always just die there. How is my hold supposed to look? (Also I know you just smack that with roaches, I am making it harder on myself prob..)

    • @LamboSC2
      @LamboSC2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      if they go for a 4-5 voids into Archon Chargelot Hydra bane is actually one of the best compositions for dealing with it, just make sure you have hydras in position for the warpprisms and establish good vision after the voidrays go back. If your macro isn't the issue with holding these attacks it's probably your army splitting from the sound of it, so try always having enough for the runbies as a high priority and then making sure u engage after you cleaned those up or if you are satisfied with your split of units.

      @@LamboSC2 What drone count am I shooting for if they go up to 8 gates immediately? Just default 66 or do I need to know whats going on more clearly? Also I think you are right about the army split :D

    can u do a video explaining how to train units directly to control groups and controling units vs skytoss?

    • @jimmypage8900
      @jimmypage8900 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey what's up bro, I can try and help with your first question. When I first got shown how to do this is it made things so much easier, and its really easy to get down. I'll try to explain it and break it down step by step so its easy to understand if control groups are unfamiliar.
      There are two methods to train units into your control group in terms of mechanics (difference only being one way has one extra step). The first method which I categorize in my head and call the "early convenient/opportunistic" method, I only use in the early game when working with a small amount of larva (When on 1 or 2 bases), or when its possible to do efficiently in later game, because you can only use this method if you are turning all the larva that is selected into a unit that's going to go into the control group.
      So to do it, you hit your hotkey that you put all of your hatcheries on, select all larva, make them into the unit/units you want (for example, all Zerglings), and while the eggs are still selected then hold shift and click the control group you want to put them in (for example, hold shift + 1). So with this method, just say on control group 1 you already had 6 Zerglings and wanted to train more and add them you would: select your hotkey that you put all your hatcheries on, hit the hotkey to select all larva, make all larva into Zerglings, then hold shift + 1. The new Zerglings will be added to control group 1.
      The first method isn't the method you want to use the most because you have to be turning all the larva into a unit that is going into the control group, but I described that method first so it is easy to picture and understand the basic mechanic you are executing because you are just shift adding to the control group. The second method which is the primary way to do it and which you will use 98% of the time just has one extra step before you shift add the units to the group. So with the second method that you will use primarily, you have to **control + click** the eggs after making units so only the eggs are selected when you shift add them to the control group you want, and not the un-used larva as well.
      So just say you have your main army on control group 1 and want to add 20 Zerglings to it. Usually you will have more than the larva needed when you select your hatcheries as the game progresses, so this is why you will mainly use this method. In this example you would select your hotkey that you put all your hatcheries on, hit the hotkey to select all larva, make the 20 Zerglings you want, **hold control and click on one of the eggs in the bottom wire frame** (this will select only the eggs and remove the un-used larva), then hold shift + 1. The new Zerglings will be added to the control group.
      Just a couple of side notes:
      -Both of these methods are the mechanics to train new units and add them to your control group. The same process applies if you wanted to train new units and CREATE a control group instead of ADDING. The only difference when creating a new control group in the above example would be to hold control + 1, instead of using shift. You can swap out any of the create/add/steal control group mechanics you would use normally when making control groups in the above example by: swapping shift with control for create, or swapping shift with alt for steal.
      -One important note to remember is that when training units into a control group, only make the units you are going to put in the control group. Then repeat if you have more for a different control group. If just say you wanted to make a batch of Zerglings and put them in your main army hotkey, as well as 10 Corruptors in your anti-air hotkey. Make the batch of Zerglings first following the process above. Then repeat the process again for the 10 Corruptors. This is because when you control click the eggs it selects all eggs regardless of unit type. But once you practice you can do this motion super fast. This also applies if you are making any other unit (army or not) that is not going into the control group.
      I hope this helps and wasn't too wordy. Just wanted make sure it was specific enough in case any part of control groups was unfamiliar to you. If you have any questions just let me know.

    Why am I losing with one base Brood Lords? My mechanics are sick, my macro is top notch and my micro with Brood Lords is amazing. Do I lose cause of a game plan maybe?
