    I have a spectra S2, momcozy and a pump in style. I had a pump in style 15 years ago with my daughter and let me just say they have definitely gone downhill. I like that it’s more portable, however, it’s insanely loud compared to my mom cozies or spectra. It’s also not nearly as effective at getting the milk out for me. It’s got it’s advantages but it’s definitely never going to be my primary pump.

    I'm due in August with my first baby and I want to breastfeed and I liked all the reviews I have seen about this pump so it's the one I chose. QUESTION: Do I have to take it to the hospital with me for when I meet with the lactation specialist? Everyone I've talked to told me yes because the hospital pumps suck.

    • @isabelfaith
      @isabelfaith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you can do what you are most comfortable with. Some moms just start off latching & breastfeeding at the hospital. But if you know already that you want to pump from the start & use this pump, then you can definitely bring it with you & only use the pump that you are comfortable with from the beginning!

    • @marcibell2635

      Terrible pump. I just called medela and had them exchange it to the pump in style advanced.
      The suction sucks and I thought there was something wrong with me. I could only pump 2 oz at a time. I borrowed my sisters 5 year old advanced and BAM 6-7 oz almost every time. So if you are having any issues dont think its you definitely blame the pump. It has a bunch of 1 star reviews

    Excellent and straight to the point, and im excited because my insurance is sending me this one!!! (No one tells you that insurance covers breast pumps, I heard through word of mouth, and then got on the phone with my insurance customer service to get all the details on how to get one), anyway back to my review:
    But the only thing lacking to be mentioned is - is there a separate nipple piece you can screw onto the bottle and feed straight from that same bottle you just pumped into, or do we have to pour that milk out into a separate nipple-bottle to accomplish that?

      Hi every pump is different for every woman. I personally loved the Spectra s2 & Medela. I would always suggest buying the hand pump version of 1 or 2 pumps you're interested in and seeing if you like their flanges & how they pump. It's so much cheaper & will give you an idea of how their electric pump will work. I hope this helps! Best of luck to you on your baby & your pumping journey!

      I agree that it's up to the person. There's different opinions, attachment, perks.
      If you have to get one pump to start -- I'm happy I went with a hospital/medical grade pump! The Spectra (I have the green one) has been perfect! No issues, easy to use, and It empties my boobs greatly ! Of course It is not hands free of course.
      Manual Pump -- I have the Medela Harmony. It takes patience, but I get a good amount when I add heat or stimulation first.
      For hands free, I just got the Medela Pump in Style with the cups, so no opinion yet.
      Your insurance may also throw in free perks/replacement items so that may help you decide. For a first to get you started, I'm happy with a hospital grade one as my first

    Hi thanks for the detailed review! Have you stopped using your manual pump like the Avent one you loved after getting electric pump?

      You are so welcome! Once I began using electric pumps, manual pumps wouldn't drain me anymore. So unfortunately I had no choice but to stop using all my manual pumps :(

    Hi! Do you know if there are any attachments that allow for the como tomo or glass Philips avent bottle to attach, I’m trying to avoid plastics

      You can get nanobebe adaptors to allow you to pump into glass mason jars, but not sure about the brand you mentioned.

    There’s water in my little tube thing. How can I get rid of it? Is it ok? Is the water getting in my milk?

    • @aracelysanchez5033
      @aracelysanchez5033 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let you pump run for 5 or 10 min on max speed with the tubes and nothing else attached
      Water will come out on it's own

    With this pump doesn’t it let you pump one breast at a time? It doesn’t seem like it from here I’m not seeing an extra hole on the connector pieces

      Hi at 10:31 I show you how to make this pump a single electric pump so you can pump one breast at a time! Hope this answers your question. Thank you so much for watching & commenting

    How much can you increase the suction on this? I heard that if you need to exclusively pump depending on how your baby does with breast-feeding, you may need do use stronger suction eventually. I’m torn between the Spectra 1 which my sister recommends, however I used Madela pump in style years ago with my older daughter which I liked so I am leaning towards the Madela, but I just want to find out about how much suction you can get from it.

      @@irenedelalastra4621 same here,I’m exclusively pumping and the suction has definitely gone down not as strong anymore ,I put it at the highest suction but it’s just not strong enough anymore ,sometimes it is and sometimes it’s not

    Great review. BUT TERRIBLE PUMP. Do not buy, you will regret it!! Had nothing but problems with it. Thankfully medela had good customer service and exchanged it for a pump in style advanced 👍

      I have issues with mine too 😢😭. I hope they can exchange it. Milk is getting into the tubes. The pumping part is leaking milk on the sides. My milk is not flowing correctly as it’s pulling my areola not the actual nipples. Leaving me sore every time 😭😭😭😭😅😅
