Hadar, since the war started, I've been thinking about you. I'm glad to hear you have relocated to another country. I totally understand what you are going through and the mixed emotions. I did it myself 25 years ago. It was not easy, but I have no regrets. You will find that this experience is going to enrich your life and your loved ones unimaginably. Keep going, persist, and don't give up. Sending your way tons of love all the way from Canada 🇨🇦. ❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Hadar, as your student, I've looked up to you from the first moment. You are such an inspiration and role model to me that sometimes I feel you are beyond normal. Thank you so much for your openness, for your doubts, for your process that you share with us. By showing us your vulnerability, you are actually showing us your strength and your brave heart, we can be inspired even more, if that is even possible. Thank you so much, I wish you the best of luck in everything new in your life and have a lot of fun at the Barca. Love you with all my heart ♥

"Hi Hadar! I completely relate to your situation. I've lived in three countries-born in the USA, raised in South America, returned to the USA in my 20s. Then, I fell in love with a Spaniard. After spending 20 years in the USA together, we decided to move to Spain. Now, in my late 40s, I'm starting anew! By the way, I’m in Zaragoza, in case you’re interested in exploring a different city.

I've heard stories like these countless times from your students, and now you're sharing your own similar experiences on your podcast. It's fascinating to witness you recounting almost the same stories as others, but from your perspective. I can feel the same emotions they went through when sharing their stories. Seeing you, the teacher, narrate a comparable story adds a unique dimension. I struggle to articulate it, but I truly love your storytelling. When you told on your podcast that you were learning a new language I got very excited and eagerly to hear about the relocation story. Thank you for sharing your story and consistently being a part of our lives, whether through your podcasts, TH-cam videos, or social media. Your daily warmth serves as a tremendous inspiration for me. I aspire to become a teacher and hope to be part of your team someday. That's why I'm working hard every single day on my self-improvement.
    Thank you!

Many thanks Hadar to share all your emotions, hard decisions and challenges. As always, I am really inspired by you. Wish you all the best. The good news is that we as a human being are adaptable, so a year from now on, you may not feel attached with your previous life as I passed these steps of immigration to a new country. So I can feel what you are saying. But the most painful part, I mean leaving the family remains with us forever. It is the part that is going to be hurt for always.

My family and I had to flee from Ukraine because of the war, but I didn't have time to make a decision. I had to grab my kids and leave. However, later on I had to go through a lot, especially, in my mind. I wish you good luck! I hope this whole thing will make you stronger. Hugs 🫂

Sweet Hadar! I’ve got so emotional listening to your decision process, the whirlwind of emotions, and the vulnerability that you and your family are going through. You’re doing everything based on grounded reasons and, above all, you’re following your heart. You’ll never regret for following your purpose. I can relate so much with you. I moved out from my home country with my husband and our three daughters when they were similar age of yours (8, 11 and 14). It was a life-change experience, not easy at all. That was 9 years ago and we still struggle in some aspects (I even wrote to you once about that!). But now when I look back we have tremendous gratitude for the signs presented at that time, to have read them, and for being brave and have taken the decision to go ahead. As you said, it may not be permanent or it might be, who knows, but the important is to let your heart guide you - and I’m sure you’re doing that. The rest falls perfectly in place. Your family will be visiting you and vice-versa, of course not the same as living next door, but the distance also has its positive takeaways. You’ll make the most of the time when you’re all together. Congratulations on your decision, Spain is a magnificent place to live, despite the bureaucracy 😅 - but there is abundant sun, marvelous food, and warm people all around! One day I want to live there. Very happy you’re documenting your journey to inspire us all. ¡Viva España!

¡Mucha suerte en tu nueva aventura! Your videos are like a reflection of myself. I feel really identify with you and I wish one day I will speak English like you. The first time I saw one of your videos I thought you were Spanish. I have been living in UK for 10 years, I moved here on my own when I was 21, and now I have got to a point that, as a native spanish, I am tired of speaking like a robot. Rhythm, melody and stress words are so different! It has took me 10 years to really embrace English and I am going to do this! I just started university and I need to excel in communication! I have so many things to learn yet. I wish you all the best, I am glad you took the decision of moving, it is such a great experience and I can't wait to see your next videos. Living in the UK has taught me how Spain culture is so... "Old fashioned?" not sure how to explain it but I don't see myself living in Spain anymore. In UK I feel free, like you said at the beginning of this video, REINVENTION! In Spain, I feel trapped. I hope Barcelona treat all your family well. ❤❤❤

At the beginning I was asking myself what could be interesting about it but after listening a few minutes you just got me into your reality and made me feel identify with some of the different circumstances you're going through in a different country, sometimes is very scary when all the pressure and responsibilities not only for you but for the whole house are over your shoulders, I've moved to a new country almost three years ago and I felt very emotional listening and remembering a lot of the hard moments and memories but at the end you see how the opportunities are opening and the sense that you are making it has no price. Thank you for sharing your life

I moved to another country 20 years ago because of love without plan to return. Please, take this situation as an opportunity to see another country as a child - with curiosity, with surprise or with anger, but never with a feeling of loss. You are strong with the love of your family and friends, you just make the next step to add new people to your tribe. Even if you are no longer in everyday contact with your friends you'll see that every time you meet or talk with them there will be this feeling of never being apart.

It’ll get easier with time. Take it one day at a time and don’t overthink things. Just go with the flow. Work on accepting your new reality. Don’t fight it! It’s ok to cry, regret, and feel sad. Lower your expectations and don’t compare the two places. Your mantra should be, it is what it is. The higher power is always with you. Take comfort in that. I’ve been there and I know exactly what you’re going through. You’re an entrepreneur. That means, resilience, flexibility, tenacity….is in your blood. All the best!

Aww, Hadar 🥰 Thank you for sharing the process of making the decision and being audaciously vulnerable. You are so right with your intention - it's going to help somebody.
Also, labeling it as "temporary" I think is a great decision as things change over time. Tasting waters, so to speak. And it might indeed be temporary. But if not, transitioning to "permanent" will be I guess a bit less mentally challenging then.
I'm happy your family can visit. Or that you can visit your family. You know it's not always possible for others. Maybe, you can hold on tight to that thought to push through challenges. And be comforted by the fact that even though you see each other much rarely you still CAN see each other in person.
Sending you love and light. Very excited about the series!

The first thing I want to say is thank you for your open, transparent and emotional podcast. You have very accurately captured the moments of making decisions with short time, feelings of guilt, gravitating towards the past life, and fears of living in new contexts. And especially about learning a new language. Thank you! I think I partially understand you. The war kicked off me out of my familiar and comfortable Kharkiv (Ukraine). My girlfriend, our cat, me, and two backpacks with only the most necessary things. That's it. All of our rituals (walks, a cup of coffee when a familiar barista is on shift) associated with the city, all of our belongings, our rebuilt life are now just memories. Today life in another country, with another language. It was hard. You can really feel the difference when you decide to immigrate and when you are forced to do so because your life depends on it. Well, enough about the sad. I look forward to hearing more stories from you, Hadar. About the visa, about the bureaucracy, and about building a future in sunny Spain. ❤

Dear Hadar, almost 6 years ago I was in a similar situation. I moved to Barcelona from Colombia (Spanish is my mother tongue) but, unlike you, I was single with no kids. Anyway, I understand that it's not easy to leave family looking for a dream. In my case, an academic dream. However, it's totally worth it, given the new experiences that we can live besides our main dream: knowing new people and cultures, travelling, making new friends, etc. I came back last year to my country, I lived 4 years in Barcelona, and it has been one of the greatest adventures I have had. I hope you tell us more about your experience there, I'm sure I'll feel identified with some of them. And please, tell us about your experiences dealing with both Spanish and Catalan 😊. Good luck!

Hadar, this is a new beginning for you and your family. Years ago, I moved to Japan by myself for a better life. Best decision I ever made. I, too, reinvented myself as you will. But first, learn the language asap. It will multiply your opportunities by millions, and it will help you feel empowered and free. When I arrived in Japan, I only knew a few words. I would come back home from work and made it a point to study grammar for 3 hours every night. At work, I told my coworkers to help me, and we would have lunch together so they could help me practice. I learned what to say and how to say it. In six months, I could carry on a conversation. I am truly grateful for all the ones who helped reinvent myself. I wish your family many blessings. I believe that there is this greater power....that leads us to our higher good. It is a collaboration affair, though. All the best from the US.

Sorry but it's such a weird new trendy concept. What's so unwanted about comfort and what's so amazing about discomfort? Discomfort, especially for longer period of time, have negative impact on our mental health.

Welcome to Spain, Hadar! I'm from Valladolid. Last summer, I was one of your students. Remember that life is what happens to you while you are making plans.
When I was young, I lived in Barcelona for more than five years, and I still have very good friends from this place.
I desire an easy and satisfactory integration for you and your family, which will be simple. Spain is a very hospitable country, probably because we are, in the deep, a country of emigrants.
If you desire, at any moment, to make tourism through the more profound Spanish culture (not metropolitan) in Castille, you have your home. Just to let you know, Valladolid is the birthplace of the Castillian language (Spanish).
We are proud to speak what the world calls the standard Castillian with a neutral accent.
    Definitively, welcome to Spain.

Congratulations Hadar for your courage to face your great challenges!
A tip: You want to acquire a neutral and/or flat accent in Spanish and not a strong accent like in other Latin countries, then go to Lima Peru or listen to audios of limeños, the accent is more neutral, not strong, like when you listen to speakers or movies with Spanish dubbing and you don't perceive a strong accent but a neutral one.
The majority of Latinos do not like the dubbing of movies with Spanish accents (country)...
We always prefer the dubbing without accent and that is usually done by Mexico but Mexicans who do those dubbings, must learn to remove the Mexican accent to sound more neutral, which is very similar to the Limeño (Peru).

You are so brave, Hadar. I think all immigrants that have left their close family behind would totally relate to your feelings. I've lived away from home for more than 20 years, and my heart is still torn between my home country and where I live now. But I don't regret leaving my country given all the experiences and lessons that I've learned throughout this journey. Best to you! Stay strong as always!

Hi, Hadar!I'm exactly at that part where you found yourself in the impossibility of making a decision precisely because of your ties with your family - parents and nephew and niece and I just couldn't go any further watching. What gets me thinking though, despite of course my deepest admiration for your courage and determination to get along with your relocation plan, is what truly drives us to take action and to put it into practice.Bc, let's just be honest, there must be sth deep down and beyond to just make you want to leave your comfort zone with the nearest and dearest and take this new unknown bumpy route.
I'm saying it bc it's happened to me sometime ... we either want to prove ourselves or out of "overachievingness"..it's just weird how we're making ourselves face up to such challenges, putting ourselves under huge pressure, God knows why...
Those limiting beliefs you're talking about might only be a vicious circle after all, the way I see it.
I wish you and your family best of luck in your endeavours, and may love and peace be always at the core of all your decisions!❤

My friend, let me tell something...all off that is part of the process but there is a emotional trap and I use to call this concept like " how much close we are far away we get and how much far we are, more close we get" like when we are surrounded by our family we don't have to think about them cuz they're around us but de extremely opposite happens when we are from a distance. Só I can say that this overthinking is a kind of mental trap. Be aware, they will be always by your side even from a fiscal distance. You can get back and forth whenever you want ...and apart from that we have internet you can be in touch 100% of the time if you wish... Be in control of your emotional system and don't let your emotional system be in control. So my friend I loved this kind of content. You are doing great. I'm happy for your braveness.t Thank so much for have shared this beautiful experience with us. One Big Hi from São Paulo, Brazil and peace!!!!

Hello Hadar, I'm an ESL teacher. I watch some of your videos to learn technique in teaching speech. May I suggest there is a huge need for teacher training in this specific area of pronunciation and linguistics. As of now, you are settling and adjusting to your move. Everything will fall into place. Just win the day. Maybe in the future you will consider sharing your expertise to teachers. You'd be great at it, just like everything else you've done.
