As a jewish person I would like to add a bit to make the picture a bit more whole - yes, Shabbat is celebrated to remember when G-d took us out of Egypt, from slavery to freedom - but the purpose is to remember that true freedom for a Jew is to connect to G-d through fulfilling the Torah laws. Another point is That Shabbat is not just for rest from a week of work - it is an opportunity to transfer our focus fro being creating creatures 6 days a week to stepping back and look at was is, without manipulating creation at all. This point of view allows us to focus on the perfection of G-d's creation around us and deepen our faith in him.
Same with the Manna that was mentioned - taking 2 portions on Friday was a test of faith for the Jewish people. And it is known from the world of school that tests allow us to go on to higher levels (if passed).
In summary - the Torah laws purpose is to connect us to G-d.

Thank you very much for posting. Who produced this film? And in what year?

Thank you. It appears to have been produced in 1988 by an Israeli Television Station. That's all that I know. I bought the video around 30 years ago from Elijah's Cup, a store here in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Also take a look at the Jewish Holidays as well.

William Bryant thank you for posting. I used to watch this as a child all the time. So heartwarming to see it again. Very beautifully done and many more will enjoy and learn from it.

Most traditional observant Jews acquire “all that stuff” from it being passed down through the generations of their families. If they don’t have all of the EXACT objects, they improvise or make do with alternatives.
