Hi! I’m Mexican-American and we have many traditions as well! I have an online friend (Effie) who is Jewish, and I always wanted to ask her about her culture. This video was so helpful and love hearing about your life. Thank you for sharing!
Hiiiii friend! So glad the video was helpful and thank you for being so kind :) ...ps kosher mexican food was a life-changing experience for me OMGGGGGGG.
Thank you for taking the time to share the Jewish culture with the world. I have been doing a great deal of research on this topic because I am a believer in Jesus Christ and the Bible tells us that he was born Jewish. Understanding the culture and context is so very important to understanding scripture. As a product of a fatherless home, I heavily model my life after scripture. The mindset and cultural references is a major key to knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. God bless you and your family! You have helped me more than you know.
Jesus not only was born Jewish, he died Jewish and all his followers were religious Jews. Christianity only became a thing a couple of hundred years after his death.

I dated a Jewish woman when I was in my late teens / early 20's and I remember her mom made the most amazing Matzo Ball soup. It was just unbelievably good. I remember one time during dinner commenting about the fact that they had two dishwashers and was curious as to why they had two dishwashers. Well, that ties in to the not mixing meat and dairy products together. They would wash dishes with two dishwashers to prevent cross-contamination between the plates / glasses used for meat products and the ones for dairy products. Anyway, that's my minor contribution to this video. Ive got a question and please dont be offended as I am not trying to offend but in my 20 years of living in England, I have never met a Jewish Religious person...what is the reason for this? Why are there hardly any jewish religious people in England?
Hi! Not offended at all :) ...I think most religious Jewish people tend to live in centralized areas, usually cities, because we aren’t permitted to drive on the sabbath and certain holidays, but we still want to go to synagogue, share family meals, etc. That means that we all have to live relatively near one another, so unless you’re in or close to a big city it’s unlikely (but not impossible) you’ll find religious Jews around. Less religious, agnostic, etc Jews are just about everywhere though!
So im Jewish but only went to a Jewish school for 3 years and because my dad isnt Jewish, i am behind on it all and even though my family isnt religious and only my grandparents are, i liked to do the main ones so i started doing them like rosh hashannah or yom kippur today but in my own way not the full thing cos of college. Hi! Thank you for your video and your explanations. Can you kindly share with me what are the Jewish perspectives when it comes to jewelry. Hope to hear from you. Thank you.
@@BryceGruberHermon Thank you so much for your kind answer. What is the tradition for Jews when it comes to jewelry? Is it a commandment from GOD to wear them? Do Jewish moms or parents give jewelry as inheritance to their children? What jewelry is a favourite among the Jews? Is it ok to pierce the ears and nose? Thank you so much for answering my questions. Shabbat Shalom!
It’s similar to Islamic rules on raising the family correctly because your kid is a responsibility for parents in this life and in the after no dating outside marriage ship because once the person in that level it’s hard to raise family faithful

Wow! I'm only a few minutes in and I didn't know about the name thing! I'm realizing that I was raised with more Jewish traditions than I thought. But we were more Messianic Jew and a mix of several other types of Christians.
Thank you very much for your explanations and for the pictures. I would love to know what you cook for Pesach because I know that the Sephardic foods you eat are probably different from the foods of Ashkenazic Jews. Thank you again.
Thanks for asking!! Well, for starters we eat corn productions and other grains/nuts that are off limits for ashkenazim. But to be honest, loads of omelettes + salads for pesach!
Thank you Bryce for your videos and for your answer. I have a question- I have seen many Jewish weddings on-line and the brides' and grooms' parents walk them down the aisle. What do people do if their parents are no longer living or the bride and groom are much older OR if the person is a ger (convert) and their parents don't want to walk them down the aisle...Thank you, Bryce. I love learning about your culture! I was raised Catholic and even though I do not practice anymore I like learning about scripture of all religions and different traditions. Reading some passages of the Torah, I think my heart truly feels at peace, which never happened when I was attending church ❣️❣️❣️
Hi! I'm in the process of converting to Judaism (mainly reform) and I have been on this path for 2 years currently. I'm glad I came across your video as it's very helpful and I was wondering if there are any books or sites you recommend that may help me? :)
Wow your sons get named on the 8th day.... when I had my kids some worker of the hospital wanted to know the baby's name 24 hours after he was born & I had to fill out some form & I know I asked for a little time & she gave me just an hour- my husband wanted a more Spanish name but anyways long story short we named him Samuel Carlos (Carlos is my husband's & father in law's name)
We PUBLICLY name on the 8th day at the bris (circumcision) for a boy. There are two names. Hebrew name that is used in prayer and ceremonies in a synagogue (house of worship) and "legal"/common name. They can be the same name if the name is a Jewish name (a biblical name, word in Hebrew or Yiddush) or two separate names with one Jewish name and one secular. At the hospital when you have the baby, the birth certificate is filled out and filed with the legal name and only the parents know the name. When a male baby and family comes home from the hospital and for the first 7 days, the baby is just called "baby" by everyone until the day of the bris. A Bris (circumcision) ceremony is a happy celebration and at one point in the ceremony the baby's name is read out and revealed. Usually babies are named after dead relatives that are admired. It is considered bad luck to name after the living. With girls, the "baby naming" happens on the first Sabbath after the birth. So, whatever day the baby girl is born on, the following Saturday is the day that her name is read and revealed. In both cases, it is kind of fun to speculate on what the baby will be named. It is considered bad form to ask what the name is before it is revealed in the synangoue. Hope this helps
I appreciate this. I found out a little while ago that I am ethnically Jewish. I never knew this before because that side of my family is gone and the antisemitism that my grandfather faced growing up drove him to the decision to not raise his children in the faith. I've been feeling sad over this, that I missed out on the opportunity to grow up with this culture and community and it's driven me to look into this part of my background more. I want to learn more and reconnect with my roots.
Really interesting!so do you find going to a restaurant difficult ?because of the dairy and meat combo. Most dishes have butter hidden in them .do you go for the vegan or vegetarian?
Thank You for your video! I am trying to learn all I can about the Jewish ways. May I ask you, Do Jewish women wear jewelry? Earrings in holes in ears? Necklaces? I would greatly appreciate your reply back to me, please.
I'm a Malankara (Malabar-Kerala) Syrian Nasrani(Christian) our naming system is same as yours, naming first boy child after grandfather from father's side and second boy child from grandfather from mother's side. All of this applicable only if those grands passed away. It's more complicated I can't remember those naming intricacies 😄. Not strictly followed today. Also we celebrate Passover on Maundy Thursday with unleavened bread, we call in Pesaha Appam I have heard somewhere Jews also celebrate it....
Hello, my name is Aaron. 👋🏼 I was raised a Catholic, but I do not consider myself of that faith. While I was starting my college years, I went on a date this very beautiful Jewish woman, but there were not any sparks and we ended up staying friends. So I went away, finished my undergrad, and came back. I really do not regard God, or Yahweh, as having any significance in my life. I think by learning Hebrew customs, I may possibly have a chance with Moriah. What do you think? I love your hair, by the way.
Not trying to be disrespectful .I generally dont understand the no hunting part.isnt that technically the most "humane " way of getting meat? And wouldnt that have been the way in biblical times. And all through out History aside for the past 100 years or so.
Good question! In biblical times kosher animals were already listed via oral Torah and domesticated. The reasons for this are numerous, but essentially we cannot eat animals that died ill or blemished (there’s no way to know if the deer you shoot from across a forest is diseased till it’s already dead, and hunting in and of itself will blemish and break the animals body in the process). The idea is that the animal is slaughtered in a precise way, differently from typical mainstream butchering, that inflicts as little pain to the animal as possible. Essentially, if you are what you eat, the energy of an animal that suffered tremendously in his or her last moments ISNT kosher for us.
Hi I’m a Christian woman and I’m just wondering if Jewish. men or. Women can marry a non Jewish person? What is orthodox Jewish and a unorthodox Jewish person what is the difference? I met this Jewish guy and I’m a black woman I met him in a professional environment but yet I could feel chemistry of some sort between he and I. What is the best way to show him that I am interested-thank you very much!
Hi! Great video! But how do you eat meat if you are not hunting it? The not cutting of hair until atleast the age of 3 i understand. But not the meat ot shrimp thing..
Im a Filipino..but im always praying for the Israeli people..because God said so in the Bible.. You are God's Time Peace.. I'm looking forward for the 144,000 jews that the Bible's telling us about.. Thanks for sharing.. God bless you, sister..! 😆
We are not Jewish, but my Daughter was named Rachell after Rachel in the Old Testament - I wanted her to be loved so intensely that a man would work 14 years for her. Her second name is Maria, after my sister in law who was leaving for the UK at that time.
Tell me though... do Jewish women cut their own hair? I know a lot of them wear a wig but, it seems like it would be super hot to put all that thick hair up under a wig. Do you ladies maintain a full head of full length hair under those wigs or do you keep it short or do you shave it all off?
Its a rare story about the exodus when a prominent Jewish man Recommended that we should probably go back to custody of our masters opposing gods will and descions then moses got super angry and punched him in the shoulder
So, im curious... 🤔 You said that while a woman is menstruating, and for a few days after, they do NOT have sex. And then, after that period of time, and after the ritual bath/"spa day" 🎉😂😊, the husband and wife "get back together" and are "allowed" (for roughly 2 weeks) to have intercourse again. So, my question is: Are you still allowed to share a bed and sleep together? And I honestly mean SLEEP! And is cuddling/snuggling OK? Nothing sexual, just innocent holding/hugging eachother while you sleep. Or what is the "rules" (if you will) regarding any other type of physical contact with your spouse while menstruating. Can you still kiss them? Hold their hand? Hug?
Wow, lots of rules. No wonder most Jewish people live in urban environments, rural life would be real hard with some of those rules. Are these just Orthodox rules? My friend Burt never mentioned any of this stuff and he spent some holidays with us (his parents lived a long way from where we went to college). I ask because I just started dating a Jewish girl and she does not mention anything at this stage about her beliefs or rules. The hunting thing might be a big deal because I grew up rural on a ranch and I will not stop hunting because I am terrified of not being able to take care of myself and my family and depending on others to feed me, not to mention I can feed myself for 6 months off a elk, you know how much money that saves? I also not sure I can give up pork or shrimp, I probably can but man that would suck. I am confused by the dairy product touching meat is that a rule or did I misunderstand? They come from the same animal, I can understand where some of these rules might develop in a society but that one stumps me. Thanks for the info.
It’s interesting hearing you speak about your traditions and how you observe the Torah and yet even when you spoke of the sabbath that I didn’t hear you mention God once.. and I believe it’s because with most religions it is all about rules and traditions rather then focusing on a relationship with him so you hope that these rules and rituals will appease him in the hope that you can in some way please him and do enough good works and he will save you.. But that’s not going to work.. nobody can be saved by what they do and you will find this in Isiah 66;2, you will read that those that try to justify themselves will parish.. you cannot save yourself by observing the law and you cannot do enough good works to atone for sins as there needs to be a blood atonement in which is there is life… Leviticus 17:10-14 and since the second temple was destroyed there has been no sacrifices.. But if you read Daniel 9:24 then you will read that the messiah was to come before the second temple was destroyed and make an atonement for sin and then he would be cut of and the sacrifices for sin would cease and that’s because he being our high priests, who now lives to make intercession for us ,psalm 110, offers up himself and he by his own blood makes an atonement for our sins.. Isiah 53.. You will also read that this servant is the arm of the lord and that it’s him who saves and is to rule and that he is from the ancient of days, Isiah 40:28, whereas created beings are not from the ancient of days, Isiah 48;7, and so the messiah is not a created being and everyone knows that only God is uncreated.. but it also tells you who he is if you read more deeply, look at Isiah 51;9, you read that he is to rise up (having been killed, Isiah 53) and that he is from the ancient of days and that it was him who parted the red seas and his told to put on the glory that he had before.. and Isiah 43;16 actually tells you that it’s God who parted the red seas and so this suffering servant according to the Hebrew Scriptures is to make an atonement for our sins and be raised back to life.. ascending into heaven and will come again “proverbs 30,4” and an even deeper study of the scriptures will reveal to you that there is more then one member of the godhead.. look at genesis 18.. we know that God is spirit and feels the heavens and the universe up and yet he appears to Abraham with 2 angels in the form of a man and as the angels go on to Sodom, Abraham stands talking to the lord.. making intercession for them which is a shadow of YESHUA and also in exodus 33:11 God appears to Moses face to face and then in exodus 33:24 God tells Moses that no-man can see his face and live and if this servant is the arm of the lord, then he must be an extension of God himself and he is.. the son of God… and he has a name.. they are told in Isiah 9;6, mighty God, Prince of peace and wonderful counsellor etc.. and YESHUA.. is his name, he is the Jewish messiah and the suffering servant who is seated at the right hand of the father making intercession for sinners having atoned for ours.. his not Catholic, he is Jewish, and he is to come again to fulfil Daniel 7:13 and bring salvation and world peace.. all of this I’ve quoted are from the Hebrew Scriptures and not the Christian New Testament, although you will find in there that YESHUA Fulfilled much of this like coming into Jerusalem on a donkey “Zachariah 9:9” and many other things.. I urge you to study it and apply wisdom… if a criminal was to stand before a judge and he said “I know I’ve broken the law, but I did all these good works, could you let me go free” he would say if his a good judge no, you committed the crime.. and so he would sentences him regardless of his good deeds.. and it the same with God.. he is a righteous God that cannot let the guilty go free as all have sinned.. Isiah 43;27 tells us that our first father sinned and so all was given over to condemnation and so if all are condemned and the punishment for sin is death as God told Adam in the garden and then how do we save ourselves by our works when God who is righteous cannot judge us based on who told a little lie verses a big one because sin is sin.. someone needs to pay… and so what God did was he came in the person of his son and he made an atonement for our sins so that he could be the justifier of the ungodly and yet still be just.. without Yeshua, there is no forgiveness and your good works cannot atone for any sins you commit and so either you pay or you accept yeshua as lord believing in your heart that he died and was buried and raised up on the 3rd day.. it’s all in the Hebrew Scriptures.. Please study them.. these works that you do are very noble.. and your family is beautiful but if you want to be made right with God then it’s not gonna happen by anything that you do.. as you cannot according to Isiah 66:2 ever justify yourself.. you can only be saved through yeshua as he made an atonement for your sin should you accept it.. Study the scriptures and see.. this is only the Hebrew Scriptures that I am speaking from and see for yourself.. his not just the gentile messiah.. there isn’t 2.. he is the Jewish messiah but you are yet to accept him but if you don’t then there remains no other sacrifices for sins and you pay and the punishment is not good works.. but eternal condemnation and death.. regardless of how good you think you are.. look at Adam.. only took one sin to become separated from sin and people can barely go a day without sinning and God who should be first is not.. that’s the first most important commandment and the other is love your neighbour as yourself and none of us can keep the law perfectly and so we need a saviour.. And his name is YESHUA and when you trust him then God takes away your stoney heart and gives you a heart of flesh you his Holy Spirit who enables you to walk in his ways.. Ezekiel 36:26.. only by faith in yeshua can you be saved.. he is the Jewish messiah, I pray you study it..
Can i ask you where do you base the prohibitions you mentioned concerning no Cheese on meat and not eating Shrimp's? Does it go back the Prophets with chain narrations from the followers of the Prophet's Salutations of Allah and Peace Be Upon Them? Do you have names of the followers of those Prophets and they narrated the approvals, diapprovals, actions and prophecies of the Prophet's (Salutation's of Allah and Blessing's Be Upon Them)?
Torah clearly outlines everything we can eat/not eat, including seafood - can’t eat anything that doesn’t have both scales AND fins, so no shrimp/eel/etc.
@@BryceGruberHermon We have Hadeeths/Narrations of the Followers of Shiluakh of Genes 49:10 These Narrations are graded and go from authentic Chain widespread Narrations to severed, broken and fabricated ones...Also the person relating the Narrations has to be known to be trustworthy and has even good memory.. Just from that Bukhari confronted for lying to the Camel and said he would not accept the Narration from him as he was a liar. Have you read Isiah 35? Circumcision is not Jew Ish. The Torah strictly prohibits alteration of the human body and the two most important tenets of Judaism are compassion and rationality. Taking an actual weapon to the most sensitive parts of their body and causing them to lose substantial amounts of blood and scream in pain leaving them with a permanent body modification they didn’t get a choice in, can’t think of anything less compassionate or rational. It was originally a punishment for Egyptian slaves. “ The significance of circumcision is rooted not in abstract spiritual realms but in mundane everyday concepts of masculinity sexuality power weakness dominance and submission.”- Leonard Glick. Wow! I'm only a few minutes in and I didn't know about the name thing! I'm realizing that I was raised with more Jewish traditions than I thought. But we were more Messianic Jew and a mix of several other types of Christians.
messianic judaism is not a thing
From Barbara
“This is not a wig, this is a need for Botox but not a wig” DEAD😂😂😂😂
Are there rituals for the aging and elderly?
Thank you for sharing , cool video 👍
Really interesting!so do you find going to a restaurant difficult ?because of the dairy and meat combo. Most dishes have butter hidden in them .do you go for the vegan or vegetarian?
Appreciate your presentation.
I’m working with Jewish families is good to learn some of you culture and traditions
I loved this video!!!
I'm in the process of converting to Judadism. I'm happy I watched this. ❤
Loved it, thanks
So blessed and loved to live in NYC
Thank You for your video! I am trying to learn all I can about the Jewish ways. May I ask you, Do Jewish women wear jewelry?
Earrings in holes in ears?
Necklaces?
I would greatly appreciate your reply back to me, please.
I miss your videos !!
Jeffy wow! This is fascinating! I had no idea! Nice to meet you :)
What do Jewish planet celebrate on its 13th birthday
It’s star mitzvah
13th

Hello, my name is Aaron. 👋🏼 I was raised a Catholic, but I do not consider myself of that faith.
While I was starting my college years, I went on a date this very beautiful Jewish woman, but there were not any sparks and we ended up staying friends.
So I went away, finished my undergrad, and came back.
I really do not regard God, or Yahweh, as having any significance in my life. I think by learning Hebrew customs, I may possibly have a chance with Moriah. What do you think?
I love your hair, by the way.
Hey thanks for the video! Is this specific to a branch of Judaism?
I love ur channel❤️❤️
C0tupt3d Vision hitlers watching
Very informative!! 👍👍👍
Thank you for taking the time to explain 😊
Thank you so much for this! I’ve always wondered but felt it was rude to ask someone
Omg not rude at all!
Love the insight
Hi I’m a Christian woman and I’m just wondering if Jewish. men or. Women can marry a non Jewish person? What is orthodox Jewish and a unorthodox Jewish person what is the difference? I met this Jewish guy and I’m a black woman I met him in a professional environment but yet I could feel chemistry of some sort between he and I. What is the best way to show him that I am interested-thank you very much!
We marry whoever we want to marry. I am married to a Christian woman.
So proud if my people. Be blessed
Hi! Great video! But how do you eat meat if you are not hunting it? The not cutting of hair until atleast the age of 3 i understand. But not the meat ot shrimp thing..
You can use vegan cheese! I snuck some into a Jewish restaurant once (I'm a kosher Jew).
Straight and to the point. Thank you
Blowing my Catholic mind
Oh my gosh I’m totally jealous of the mikvah and the tradition surrounding that! Also, agh, Shabbat. 😌Sounds like the dream to me. 😍
Thank you so much ❤️
You have a very Ashkenazi name. I assume your husband in Ashkenazi but you follow Sephardic traditions.
From India state Tamil Nadu. Wow super
Awesome video
Make more videos like that please :)
Its a rare story about the exodus when a prominent Jewish man Recommended that we should probably go back to custody of our masters opposing gods will and descions then moses got super angry and punched him in the shoulder
Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, Daniel 9, Jeremiah 31, Psalm 2, Deuteronomy 18, Psalm 2, Micah 5:2, Isaiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 12:2-3, Proverbs 30:4, Zechariah 12:10
A lot of things are common in jews n Muslims ❤️
So, im curious... 🤔
You said that while a woman is menstruating, and for a few days after, they do NOT have sex. And then, after that period of time, and after the ritual bath/"spa day" 🎉😂😊, the husband and wife "get back together" and are "allowed" (for roughly 2 weeks) to have intercourse again.
So, my question is:
Are you still allowed to share a bed and sleep together? And I honestly mean SLEEP! And is cuddling/snuggling OK? Nothing sexual, just innocent holding/hugging eachother while you sleep.
Or what is the "rules" (if you will) regarding any other type of physical contact with your spouse while menstruating.
Can you still kiss them? Hold their hand? Hug?
You have such a beautiful family
I just did a DNA test and found out I’m 1% Jewish, can use it as a pass to visit a synagogue and learn more about my ancestral ways?
You have 1% subhum
Isiah 35,42 and 60 where is this place?
109 different countries
Good information 👍🏽
I wonder what you do if your period is off, haha asking for a friend 😁
What happens if you accidental eat bacon? This is a serious question.
How would one accidentally eat it:)?
Yup, it’s in the Bible , no sex while on your menstruation. Leviticus 18:19. 👍
are you sephardic? i couldnt hear.
yes
Hi,
I believe that you are sefardí Jewish, is this right?
Yes :)
Can i ask you where do you base the prohibitions you mentioned concerning no Cheese on meat and not eating Shrimp's? Does it go back the Prophets with chain narrations from the followers of the Prophet's Salutations of Allah and Peace Be Upon Them?
Do you have names of the followers of those Prophets and they narrated the approvals, diapprovals,
actions and prophecies of the Prophet's (Salutation's of Allah and Blessing's Be Upon Them)?
Torah clearly outlines everything we can eat/not eat, including seafood - can’t eat anything that doesn’t have both scales AND fins, so no shrimp/eel/etc.
@@BryceGruberHermon We have Hadeeths/Narrations of the Followers of Shiluakh of Genes 49:10 These Narrations are graded and go from authentic Chain widespread Narrations to severed, broken and fabricated ones...Also the person relating the Narrations has to be known to be trustworthy and has even good memory..
One if the Hadeeth Collectors Al Bukhari was about to collect a Hadeeth he had travelled far to collect but saw the man tricking the camel like he had some food for it to get the animal to come to him. Just from that Bukhari confronted for lying to the Camel and said he would not accept the Narration from him as he was a liar.
Have you read Isiah 35? About this area of the Dry Desert Land that was prophecised to have a river/pool with it.
Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him said may Allah have mercy on Hager it was supposed to be a river but whrnmshe covered it to drink from it and quench the thirst of dehyddated Ishmael, it became a Well.
This area Allah through that Prophet comes with Vengesnce agaibst disbelief..
Jews of Yathrib accepted Islam according to Scripture . .When they would querrell with the Pagan Arabs theyveould say to watch when the Prophet comes they will annihalate them.. who fought thosexPagan Arabs? Muhammad Pbuh...Medinah wasca Jewish City given to Muhammad Pbuh.
Love this video really informative. I'm Jewcurious watching from London UK 🇬🇧 Shana Tova ✡️🕎🍎🍯
Circumcision is not Jew
Ish. Jews against circumcision
ALL us women know about periods! I am not Jewish but I enjoyed your video. I once made the mistake of going to a Jewish deli here in St Louis, sadly, most are gone but I ask for MILK!!!!!!!!!!! OH, what a fool I was! I am sorry!
Wow ur few traditions are similar to Islam😊🎩 love from Pakistan
They don't lick stones and bow down to cubes
👍🏼👍🏼
What about mixed dancing? Isn't it pretty stupid that the Orthodox wont even let married couples dance at a wedding?
I don’t think it’s kind or right to refer to any religion’s customs as “stupid” …what doesn’t make sense for you may make sense for others. Wishing you brighter and kinder days. 💕
God gave us turkey and vegan beef seasoning lol as far as I’m concerned or non dairy butter non dairy cheese a lot of people have issue with this I know but in the comfort of my own home as long as I keep kosher then it’s fine to me non dairy butter doesn’t suddenly have dairy Bec I put in on my beef

A Russian Jewish woman from NY city is interested in getting to know me romantically - a white guy from the Midwest-South. Help?!?!
