Wow what a beautiful video. I’m Eastern Orthodox and I can see the connection we have to Judaism even more after watching this. I do think you’ve added a depth i haven’t found for myself and have inspired me to try harder. Thank you.
As a Catholic, after watching this, I really have to have a more consistent prayer life, which too often fluctuates periods of devotion and laxity. Thank you for the inspiring video, Zevi.
As a Lubavitcher, this was such an inspirational video. We get lost in the automated routines, keeping mitzvos out of habit and take for granted the beauty and intentionality behind everything we do. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this. It gives those of us who have not been raised in Judaism or the Jewish ways but are Jewish a chance to understand how to live and how to fulfill these Commandments and prayers. This was beautiful and the peacefulness of this video with everything in it moved me to tears.
I observed the daily routine of Jewish practices and found a strong connection, as it closely resembles the Islamic routine I follow. Our beliefs and God are the same, and I hope we can live together as brothers in peace and harmony.
Thank you, how beautiful, and how beautifully made. I am a Jew, and I thought I knew a lot, but you taught me much (never heard about the right/left side dressing!). This is true Kiddush Hashem at a time when it is so sorely needed. תודה רבה ❤
This is a lovely video, Zevi, and I found it inspiring and encouraging. As a Jew By Choice I have lacked practical guidance in many of the daily routines of Jewish life, so I'm grateful to have this resource. I look forward to future videos in this series! Thank you!
Yasher loach on a beautiful, intimate portrayal of the Jewish sacred path. I really appreciated how slowly and intentionally you said your b’rachot and tefillot, rather than just rushing through them to fulfill your ‘chiyyuv’ (obligation). The natural settings were so peaceful too. As a religious Jew, I am grateful that you reminded me of the beauty of my own tradition. Wishing you an ever deepening connection to the Holy One ❤
I was thinking that this practice and explanation warmed my heart, and then at the end I see the dedication and it all makes sense. Jewish Renewal has my heart and soul. I’m working on my conversion with a Recon group that has a heavy focus on Renewal, and it has made so much sense for me and my passions and yearning for practice. It’s Friday when I write this, so shabbat shalom 💛
This is so awesome! A heartfelt thanks for being so honest about your Jewish practice brother! As a Muslim there is so much similarity between Islam and Judaism... Tzedaka in Hebrew (Justice- the monetary sharing) is called Sadaqah in Arabic which is so important in Islam as well! Amongst many other Similarities. We are all created by One perfect and Divine God and it's truly so amazing to see all of us living (or trying our best to live ;) ) within the Light of God! Infinite Peace and Blessings to you!
I'm a convert so I wasn't raised in this way. Some things like hand washing and kashrut are easy enough to implement with enough learning, but I have such a problem doing morning prayer. Because of my chronic illnesses, I can't wake up early enough to fit it between sunrise and the start of my work shift. I'm not a fast reader, so it takes me 45-60min to do even the essential prayers. In the winter it's basically impossible with how the dawn time changes 😢 I really enjoy praying, so I wish it was doable for me
You can still do daily prayers! Start with Shema, add a few as you get used to it and start to memorise the words so that it maybe goes a little faster. G-d knows your heart; it's ok if you don't get every syllable out perfectly and quickly like the 80 year old Yid who's been doing it his whole life. 💜💜
Echoing what previous posters have read: start small with the Sh’ma. If your chronotype doesn’t work well with Shacharit, are you able to Mincha and/or Ma’ariv with a bit more sacred intention to compensate? Wishing you only blessings on your journey! ❤
You can also pray along with a recorded version. Just make sure to make adjustments for days with tachanun. This will help you learn the prayers and also improve your reading. Refuah shelimah!
Beautiful, inspiring, and well-made! ❤️ Apart from the value this offers to those seeking to integrate a meaningful practice into their lives, this video holds tremendous significance for seasoned practitioners in need of a reminder of its essence... The disclaimers at the end provide insightful and crucial points.
15:44 "We wholeheartedly forgive anyone that may have wronged us throughout the day, and pray that no one be punished on our account" Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu (excellent, excellent, excellent) :) I'm a Theravada Buddhist and this really struck my heart. I know a ton of Jewish Buddhists and was actually referred to this video by one. So much beauty - thank you for sharing this.
Beautiful video. Thank you for giving us such an intimate look into your life and these daily rituals. I love seeing how people of other faiths love and celebrate God. It’s all so beautiful. Wherever this was filmed is gorgeous as well and that dog is super cute. I have a black cat that is also named Jasper lol. I’m looking forward to more vids in this rituals series.
I found recently that the word kippah is cognate to Akkadian kippatu, which was derived from Sumerian ŋešpu, and the "pu" sign is buluŋ, "to grow," referred to as Akkadian rabû. This ŋešpu refers to circles, rims, and came to eventually be represented in Jewish iconography as domes (and circles). If you see the threshold of Ashurbanipal from Dur Sharrugin, you'll note the pattern which is referred to by the rosette of the Magdala Stone. The border of the threshold is a design also found at the City of David. These links are also seen on the ANE representations of the Tree of Life. These are depictions of the Saffron Crocus. This relates to circles, wheels, the menorah (a representation of the tree of life), and your kippah. Saffron is Azubir, the "Healing Branch," Azupiru, of the Kurgirin, "Mountain Flower," Karkanu Pirizah, Karkom, the Crocus. Your word for Gold, zahab, is derived from Azubir, rather than Saffron deriving its name from the color of the metal.
This is a very cool video. It feels like home and I can't fully describe the feeling I felt watching this video. I'm not Jewish, I'm barely religious, but everything makes a lot of sense to me here. Thanks for sharing.
As a Muslim this is truly informative and enlightening, not to mention almost eerily similar to Islam, especially if one is familiar with tassawuf or sufism. I also appreciate the symbolic meanings and mystical interpretations behind the rituals. The accusations thrown to both Islam and Judaism seems to be that its too legalistic, too formulaic and too ritualistic but as your video has pointed out, this is far from the case. I suppose I shouldnt be surprised, nor should any Muslim who is familiar with al Ghazali, the philosopher mystic who basically gives an esoteric explanation behind every Islamic ritual while stressing the importance of the ritual itself. The Sharia or Islamic law must be balanced with the Haqiqa, the spiritual truths. The inner (batin) needs the outer (zahir), there is no one without the other. On a side note - did I understand the symbolic meaning behind the tefillin correctly? In that it also symbolises Isaac's willing sacrifice to God as commanded to Abraham? If it is, wow that is powerful stuff! Because as you know, we have the same story in Islam, but rather than Isaac, it was was Ishmael...but let's not get into that now haha. Thank you again for your efforts in making this video. As a Muslim, its fascinating to watch other traditions resemble your own, and somewhat interestingly, I have an increased appreciation by the end and was teary eyed. It must have also been hard to record this since worship is intensely personal, especially in spiritual paths where intentions have to be purified and be purely for God. Nevertheless you have enlighten many, and in these troubled times, we should build more bridges than destroying them.
Dear Naif, I deeply appreciate your comment. It warms my heart to know that the video resonated with you, especially in connection to Tassawuf/Sufism. Your reflections on Al-Ghazali's teachings and the balance between Sharia and Haqiqa perfectly capture the essence of the video. It's heartening to see the connections between rituals and spiritual truths. I'm moved that the video elicited such emotions, and your acknowledgment of the personal nature of worship is spot on. Building bridges in these times is crucial, and your sentiment resonates deeply. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for being part of this community. Yours, Zevi
Thank you for this insight. I love the wash basin that you have for netilat yadayim; I was curious if that was a set that you found together, or something you pieced together from matching bowls. Shalom.
Much like a day in the life of a Muslim. Islam and Judaism are often criticized as too ritualistic or too formalist, but the truth is that all of these acts of devotion carry deep meaning and affect us deeply in ways we sometimes don't fully appreciate.
.......we are NOT the same....... Islam is a bloody death cult.(.........have you heard...read about..ISSIS.....Islamic Jihad......Boko Haram...... Taliban.....HAMAS.....PLO..... about the killing.... raping.... stealing.... burning children....taken HOSTEGES....!!!!!
Zevi, this was beautiful as always. Thank you so much for this content. I have personally sought out content that could explain the order of prayer in Judaism for many years and have never found a more clear explaination. I look forward to future videos on the deeper meaning of these rituals. Additionally, if someone has not already suggested this: I would love for you to do maybe one dedicated video to common blessings for sensations and experiences? Ex when smelling flowers and when entering a city? I have found the beauty and simplicity of these blessings to be profound and I think they bare elaboration in thr context of cultivating a life that is mindful of god.
as one who grew up with all this, i know exactly what you’re doing- but in watching this video progress, i realized you are opening a window into something that observant jews rarely care to show or explain to the outside world. it felt like i was watching you give away a big secret of living in the derech, haha, but i was glad for it. for me, the rituals and tefillah that mark the unfolding of time each day, and demarcate boundaries of both time and space, have a rhythm and mystical power most people outside of the practice do not see or understand. while there is a lot of focus on torah out there online (which is great, of course), the liturgy and halachic code of daily life is rarely made beautiful and explained like this. can’t wait for the episode when you show kohanim duchaning the priestly blessing and making the spock hand symbol with tallit over their heads- will totally freak people out 😂 i’ve been enjoying your channel for awhile, but i feel like you are tapping into a whole new level here. thanks for the great work. reb zalman A’H was such an inspiration. the work of rabbi joseph soloveitchik A’H was also very impactful for me, wonder if you’ve read his works. much love to you, be well.
What a beautiful video, epitomizing simplicity of G-d, purity and Holiness. This nearly brought me to tears. This is the most beautiful thing. These rituals might seem simple and insignificant but they retuning you back to G-d This whole day you were vibrating at the highest consciousness, G-d is highest consciousness and we are to strive to reach this state consciousness in our daily life, to be more like our Abba.
Wow that was beautiful and love the doggo! Is Jasper a Poodle or Portuguese Water Dog? Much love and blessings in your pursuits, thank you for setting a fine example ❤🙏
Thank you so much for this! When you talk about knowing G_d Biblically, as intimately as possible, it instantly made me think of how intimate a view you were giving us of that process, a sharing of inspiration and motivation for that drawing close in the spiritual practices of your viewers, it felt recursive in the best possible way.
That was incredible! Thank you so much for making this. I am a Hermetic mystic with my own involved theurgical practice and it was really great to see how adherents of another religion develop their relationship to the Divine. Very inspirational!
Beautiful. Are you thinking of making a series of these about various traditions or various individuals' 'found' practices? This felt like a sacred prayer in itself. Thankyou.
Disclaimer: this is nowhere near the average morning of a Jew, who is married with children. I need to see a follow-up video where you calmly waking up in the morning as you hear splashes in the bathroom seeing your child tovel your $1,700 smartphone in the toilet. מודה אני לפניך כל בוקר
@@SeekersofUnity Looking forward to more videos after your shidduch and marriage, Zevi. This video was well-done and gives me much needed chizuk. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you for the lovely window into your daily life and ritual. It’s very moving to see and inspiring, no matter your faith or spiritual leaning. Also, sick woodshop. 😂
Amazing video bro as a Jew by choice this really inspired me to step up my daily practice thanks man not sure if ur on the east coast or near NYC but maybe u can get some other points of views on Judaism also maybe talk to those who are more secular and thOther groups as well
A wonderful compilation. A side note: when I began studying Maimonides Code (by the Rebbes zt"l instructions) I began saying the morning blessings (birkot ha'shahar) according to his rulling, even before washing my hands. You thank God for opening your eyes in the moment you do it. You thank Him for being able to sit up in bed etc.
@@SeekersofUnity brother I would like to totally learn about Jewish lifestyle, how Jewish people live, walk, worship, celebrate festivals and many more. Is there any way that I could learn all these? I'm from India.
wow i didn't know there were so many rituals and didn't know the reasons behind the tassles, caps etc. i was brought up catholic and the only ritual i did that was generally routine was praying night time and maybe morning. i'd loved all of that
My family is raised by a Jewish prophet and we don't eat kosher nor have fixed prayer rituals. We are instructed to try to refer to godliness as our main task. Hope this helps. Amen brother.
I enjoyed this. As a BT, I've struggled to learn the ins-and-outs that a FFB Jew knows. This is dedicated to Reb Zalman; is that Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi?
Thank you for this video, but one question? What do you do for work as in a job? For some people, having a job takes a lot out of us spiritually, mentally, and physically.
@@nissengoldman4474 Hello, i can explain my journey of course. First i bacame muslim, i was practicing its learnings, i was praying in form of salah. At the same time i continued to read about history of all religions and especially about judaism. Then i learned about noahide concept. Simply it has got 7 rules. I saw that these 7 rules are compatible with islam. Also i heard from a famous rabbi, that muslims are counted as noahide because of strict monoteism. Then i decided to practice both beliefs together. I found a noahide prayer book from internet. Sometimes i pray from that book, sometimes i pray as form of salah. I still countinue to learn from rabbis about jewish culture because they are light to the nations. Yes you are right, noahide concept is pre-islam but its concept, the rules exist also in islam. Even if someone doesnt believe prophet muhammad recieve revelation, his teaching are compatible with noahide concept. So i think a person can practice both beliefs at same time.
" You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy'” Leviticus 19:22 .. this is the beauty and the substance behind the Jewish life . The ONENESS of HaShem is seen when His Holy people sanctify His Name by the way they live their lives. . This is the essence of the divine presence, this is what has brought me out of false religion into the truth of the God of Israel.
May the spiritual and the religious see each other because they know the other just like Adam knew her. May we understand our oneness that is all Him in her who is us. There is no such thing as separate. This is who we are and I believe religion is finally understanding that the Nations are her, who now knows the difference between all that is good and evil because we see what is good in our image 🙏🙏🙏

@SeekersofUnity Is there a single minute along the day in which the Jew deals with Yetzer Hara? All seemed so perfect…
Beautiful video. We have a lot of similar routines in Islam but I have not been to mindful of them. This video inspired me to be closer to our beloved creator. Thanks for this. One question tho: from my understanding Judaism has three daily prayers, did I miss anything or have I misunderstood?
Thank you friend. There is no higher compliment or blessing that being able to inspire another brother and sister in faith to come closer to the Beloved. Yes we do. All three featured in the video, albeit briefly. Shacharit, the morning prayer, Mincha in the afternoon and Maariv (aka Arvit) in the evening. Blessings, Zevi
Hi Zevi, if the jewish day begins with the first star at evening, why the video begins at the morning? I know that it makes no important difference, but I would like to ask you about that. Thank you man!
Hi Paulo, Thank you for the question. Although the Jewish calendrical day begins at sunset/nightfall, almost all elucidations of the Jewish day found in Jewish literature (seder hayom, shulchan aruch, etc.) begin with the morning. In this exposition I followed the example set by our sacred literature. Yours, Zevi
Great video-- What I will say is that this does present the specific customs of your community as being "how Jews do things" which may be misleading for non Jews or uninvolved Jews who don't know some of these things are just customs. I'm Sephardi and we do not do all of these or do them the same way.
As a catholic ethnic jew . . The way the beauty of these traditions seamlessly integrated with traditional catholic practice. . I've always said. . Every Christian should know Judaism

Interestingly enough that “Into your hands I commit my spirit” from psalms is also what Jesus had said on the cross. Thanks for sharing this video.
Yes indeed. Thank you 🙏🏼
How gently moving, thank you for this insight and window into your world, Zevi 🙏
Thank you so much for that beautiful video! I've been thinking about converting for a while and this video helps me peer into the life I could lead
You’re most very welcome. Im glad it was helpful. Take your time :)
I am Jewish but not as religious.
I do however say the Modeh Ani and the Shema every morning, and the Shema at night.
That was incredible! Thank you so much for making this. I am a Hermetic mystic with my own involved theurgical practice and it was really great to see how adherents of another religion develop their relationship to the Divine. Very inspirational!
You’re most welcome. Thank you for being here with us.
The disclaimer at the end goes by quickly, but Zevi does mention that this is an idealised day, and that he is single with no children, so YMMV. :)
🙏🏼
😂😅
@@SeekersofUnity Looking forward to more videos after your shidduch and marriage, Zevi. This video was well-done and gives me much needed chizuk. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you for making such an intimate view into your spiritual life.
You’re most welcome. It’s not mine. It’s ours.
How Beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤

Thank you for the lovely window into your daily life and ritual. It’s very moving to see and inspiring, no matter your faith or spiritual leaning. Also, sick woodshop. 😂
Thanks Kerlynda. I’m so glad you joined and appreciate it. I wish I could say the wood shop was mine 😋
Beautiful video! It inspires me focus in prayer instead of allowing it to run off.
Thank you Gabi 🙏🏼
This is beautiful. Happy for you on the move. Welcome!!! Still learning from you.. thank you for being here.
Thank you my friend.
Thank you Zevi, I can’t wait for the “deep dive” on each of those ritual elements…
You’re most welcome. Me too :)
Thank you friend. That’s very kind of you and thank you for the Maimonides note. It’s something I’ve been thinking about.
Fascinating video. Thanks for sharing. I love the idea of having a Sadaqa box - I’m going to add one to my house. Assalumu 3alaikum.
You’re most welcome brother. Wa ʿalaykumu salam
Absolutely phenomenal video for a baal tshuvah to see exactly how everything is done. Thank you
You’re most welcome. I’m glad it was helpful.
Thank you brother, i was eagerly waiting for someone to upload this. thanks I got to know about a day in the life of a Jew.
You’re most welcome 🙏🏼
@@SeekersofUnity brother I would like to totally learn about Jewish lifestyle, how Jewish people live, walk, worship, celebrate festivals and many more. Is there any way that I could learn all these? I'm from India.
@@FLMLABJoin a shul in India.
wow i didn't know there were so many rituals and didn't know the reasons behind the tassles, caps etc. i was brought up catholic and the only ritual i did that was generally routine was praying night time and maybe morning. i'd loved all of that
You’re most welcome. Thank you for joining and learning with us here.
Raising the bar for Jewish TH-cam 👍
where do you get your tzit zit? looking for basic cotton ones like these :)..also...i like your video :))
Jerusalem. Ben Yehuda ;)
Bens tallit shop has them and even with the blue thread. They're out of Israel
My family is raised by a Jewish prophet and we don't eat kosher nor have fixed prayer rituals. We are instructed to try to refer to godliness as our main task. Hope this helps. Amen brother.

So beautifully done! Nice running into you this Shabbos :)
Thank you Aryeh. My pleasure.
What a beautiful and truly inspiring presentation! Thank you 🙏🏾
I enjoyed this.
You’re most welcome. Thanks for the question. I’m an educator and content creator.
@@SeekersofUnity Thanks for commenting.
Shalom my brother, loved the video! Keep it up
Very beautifully directed video. I am a noahide and also a muslim, i love and read a lot about jewish culture, thanks for sharing your day with us🙏
You’re most welcome. Thank you for your kind words.
That fascinates me… how does that work, a Muslim and a noahide. My understanding is that noahide is pre-islam. Curious about your practices/beliefs
Lots of love from India 🇮🇳🙏🧡💙🧡
nice interpretation of the orthodox jewish rituals! love it!
Thank you friend.

Thank you Zevi.
You’re most welcome 🙏🏼
Wow! I'm so grateful for your work! Completely magnetised in ❤
You’re most welcome :) Thank you for your kind words.
Blessings,
Zevi
When do you make the bracha of netilat yadayim in the morning?
This was really beautiful and inspiring ! Thank you very much 🙏
You’re most very welcome. Thank you.
Beautiful, thank you.
❤️
Hi Zevi, if the jewish day begins with the first star at evening, why the video begins at the morning? I know that it makes no important difference, but I would like to ask you about that. Thank you man!
Hi Paulo,
Thank you for the question.
Although the Jewish calendrical day begins at sunset/nightfall, almost all elucidations of the Jewish day found in Jewish literature (seder hayom, shulchan aruch, etc.) begin with the morning.
In this exposition I followed the example set by our sacred literature.
Yours,
Zevi
@@SeekersofUnity Thank you my friend. Shabbat shalom! 💙🤍

You’re so very welcome. Thank you ❤️
Just got here and yes is profoundly beneficial..... Now deeping into your videos
Welcome 🙏🏼
Great video-- What I will say is that this does present the specific customs of your community as being "how Jews do things" which may be misleading for non Jews or uninvolved Jews who don't know some of these things are just customs. I'm Sephardi and we do not do all of these or do them the same way.
Yes. See disclaimer #5 at end of the video 🙏🏼
Just lovely. Thank you.
Really beautiful. Thank you Zevi.
