Honestly seeing this now, a few years after my playing days. This Lowkey gave me clarity. I always felt I was very skilled but there would be games, weeks, tournaments where I would have an inconsistent thought process. I would be thinking about how my coach would get mad because I pulled the ball too much. So all I could think about was staying back on the ball. I was lost after going to a new team with great coaches, very in my head. There was definitely times where I felt comfortable and obviously that’s when playing is the most fun. Genuinely happy for the following generations of baseball that they have someone like you to go this in depth into the game, truly amazing. Like the great yogi Berra said “90% of the game is physical, the other half is mental”. Keep doing your thing Trev!

It honestly blows my mind how well this dude can articulate ideas I've had trouble even conceptualizing my whole life. Baseball's future generations are lucky af to have influences like him & resources like this info.

Love the psychology based talk in this video. This is what separates the good from the great. I'd love to hear more about the different types of mindsets involved during the different jobs a pitcher has. For example, how do pitchers separate on the field and off the field character, training mindset vs. game mindset, and how do pitchers best sort through all the moving parts during the different phases of a professional season?

Trevor, I don't know if you reply to comments but I'm gonna ask anyway...When you are working in your bullpens in season between starts, do you ever purposefully get into the narrow internal mindset? This is when you might be trying to fix something specific mechanically. I understand that you try to make mechanical adjustments in the offseason but sometimes you discover something in season that you need to work on. Thanks for the video.

Hey Trevor, sorry to hear your season is still postponed, but am glad to see you're healthy. Could you say that...then in order to be in flow state you need to have consistent intentional time in the right side of the quadrant? #whatkindofcleats?

I like how this is part of the mental side of things. Do you think you could do something on how to handle failing and be able to succeed the next play. I think it would be really beneficial to hear more about the mental side of the game coming from a big leaguer.

Hey Trevor. Would love to hear your thoughts on whether or not “clutch” is actually a thing. It seems to be a good segway as kind of the opposite of choking. Also if you could send this video to Jon Lester for me that would be great.

How do you deal with a teammate who is in a slump? Do you leave the coaching staff to deal with it or do you step in and try and offer help yourself? I have to imagine it's a fine line to cross.

Would you say that when you are learning a new technique or tweaking mechanics that you SHOULD be in narrow internal? Like as a decent golfer I constantly have to think about little internal cues, especially on the range. Maybe the idea is narrow internal works for practice but go more external during competition?
