    In this video I'm showing how I shrunk my Stella Pro Reflex S to fit in my kit in an even better way. Now it's super small and ultra powerful. Best light ever for travelling.
    I also show what the best accessories are for the CLx10, to maximize your wedding video filming experience.
    These are the two best wedding video lights I've ever used, and it's such a great time to be a wedding filmmaker.
    Been looking to replace your old and busted Torch LED? There's a new kid on the block that bests that one in every way, and is even on sale now.

    I am super stoked with the review. I am investing in these lights. So excited to shrink my video kit. Now if you could only do the same for a light stand lol

      You can attach a magnetic mount or a gorilla pod. But you’d have to find where to attack those.

    Where do I get the kit to remove the filter? I tried the toenail clipper and I broke the filter lens... Shipping it back but yeah, wasn't seeing how I could get that off with that, easily anyways

    I’m curious what you use for light stands on a wedding day? I got the Manfrotto stackable light stands but seeing if theirs a more lighter and smaller setup you use

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually those are great stands. I use slightly taller ones because I like to keep the shadows to a minimum.

    @wildwedding Can you tell us what tool exactly you used to remove the filter? or put a link to purchase this like you did for the filters?
    Can't seem to find this exact tool. Thanks!

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a filter removal tool. It should be noted if you out the filter inside and run it in full for a bit. The filter will burn and maybe crack.

    Are you using a full cto or half during weddings?

  • @NathanPhillipsPhoto

    Have you tried the fxlion nano one or two v mount battery for the reflex via usb-c instead of a powerbank?

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you can get it the 40w out of a nano one. But not 100w. So you’ll be limited on the maximum light output.

    If you are hoping to use MagMod modifiers with the Reflex, ya might want to pause on that and read the following. The original MagMod Mag Grip will fit around the Stella pro Reflex HEAD however, I have to warn you that you will have to use lots of force to stretch the Mag Grip to fit. But it will fit. All that effort to make it fit becomes pointless though if you plan to use MagMod Gels or the Mag Grids. I tried the MagMod Gels and the Mag Grids (separately) and i had to remove them in less than 30 seconds because they began to Melt. Power was at half on the Reflex and in Continuous mode. So disappointing. I did not try using the Reflex in BURST mode to count how many pops of flash I could get before it melts but I'm assuming it should not be an issue since the light is just flashing and not continuously on. So the Heat should be significantly different. I did not try the Mag Bounce or the Mag Dome but I think those two will be fine for continuous mode and burst mode since those modifiers are not so close to the LED diode. ALSO.... if you use any of the Reflex optics, you will NOT be able to use any MagMod modifier because the MagMod will not reach the Mag Grip magnets. Gelling these lights is HUGE issue. I guess we have to buy the Stella gels that
    @NathanPhillipsPhoto mentioned. The down side is that Stella doesn't offer any creative colored gels and $200 for only 3 CTO glass gels is NOT COO in my book. I'll pay it, but thats one more thing to dislike about this system. NEXT I plan to start looking for sheets of gels with the highest heat tolerance, Order them and cut them down to a size that fits over the front of the Reflex Optics. Then use Velcro dots to hold them in place. I hope this info helps someone.

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, i really wish there was a more elegant system that could withstand high heat tolerance

    With that remote do you have to be fairly close to the light to be able to control it and make adjustments?

    • @wildwedding

      No. Way across the room works super amazing. Very good remote

  • @DavisButte

    How would you compare these to the Godox ML60Bi? Those seems almost as powerful, bi-color, and have better accessories for adding modifiers than the current Stella lineup… Also curious of your opinion on the necessity of bi-color lights or if a daylight light with an incandescent filter is enough for anything you do. Appreciate the thoughts!

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have a godox. But you’d have to have quite a large spot adapter or fresnel to make them into a spotlight. As is, the godox are a flood light.

    • @wildwedding

    • @NathanPhillipsPhoto
      @NathanPhillipsPhoto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wildwedding yeah, cracked all the way through the filter like a web. One was faded like a hot spot. I even tried it on half power and it continued to crack it.
      I did try the light & motion filters that go directly on the bulb. They did great, just pricey. You can even double stack the half power filter for a full stop and have no rattle inside the reflex light.

    Can you modify these for corporate. The aputure lights have so many modifiers due to bowens, so this light looks like it's mainly a boon for wedding filmmakers.

    • @wildwedding
      @wildwedding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve used these on hundred of corporate gigs. Takes a bowens mount or a profoto mount if you want it as a main key light with a soft box. Quite versatile.

      I just bought the reflex s light and used my Aperture soft box with it. I did have to buy the Bowens adapter mount though. Also if you have any MagMod modifiers, they will work with this light too!

      @@JaimeDelRio wow!! I appreciate your in depth response! I did not know any of that. I will have to play around with my Stella Reflex light to see what works and what doesn’t. That is a shame about them not having any colored gels to use. I wish they would have made it with a RGB option like similar other LED lights on the market. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s added in a newer model sometime in the future. That might be how they will address getting a colored look instead of using gels that would ultimately melt like you mentioned.
