Eat your heart out! Just bought 2 from Home Depot and paid $83 a piece!! I would have bought more but that’s all I could find. They were at the construction entrance with a sign saying normally $349 marked to $93 then got military discount. Total out the door for two cost $183.31! Don’t ask me why because I don’t know and did not ask why I just snatched them up as fast as I could. I have a 6 gallon pancake that is a craftsman and very slow then I have an old 12 gal Sears that I absolutely love. It’s super fast and you can spray with it but for some reason it is blowing the breaker everytime I plug it in now and another thing I live in a condo complex and live on top floor. I can’t get that 12 gal up the stairs without major help it’s so heavy. So this seems like it might foot the bill for my handyman business. It has wheels and I bet I can get it up stairs by myself so I think I will keep this one and sell the other to pay for it. Basically I figure I can sell one for $225 and have some money in my pocket and a free air compressor. Loving life right now!

I have all manner of physical ailments and I can get it up a set of stairs. Its not ideal but doable. Getting into the truck requires a ramp for me but most sturdy guys can lift it no problem....I could do it but id regret it immediately... and for weeks. Be prepared to hear it run intermittently the entire time you are working with it due to the smaller tank however the pump keeps up pretty good and usually fills quickly after you let off. Thats using a high cfm impact for several bolts in a row...Like starts refilling on the 5th lug nut but keeps busting them loose regardless.

Thx for posting the review. Mine arrive Nov 12. When I get home in a couple weeks, I'll get to it.

You will be happy with it!! I am working on a 6 month of operation video where I talk about the things I've done with it at this point. It and a 1/2" impact will power through just about anything. The 6scfm@90psi flow is plenty for me.

Is it normal to feel a draft of air on the side of this air compressor while its compressing air?

pleasure watching the video. I was thinking about getting either this one or the Rigid 4.5 Gal. Portable Electric Quiet Air Compressor. I'm leaning towards the mac5200 after this video.

Bad thing about this compressor is that it has a 50% duty cycle so if you over run it'll basically destroy itself. I'd reccomend the rollair V25 which is a very similar price point and it has a 100% duty cycle meaning you can run that thing hard and long which is great for the actual professional versus a hobbyists.

I was unaware of the 50% duty cycle. I haven't ran it long enough to have any problems. If I were going to do any hvlp or run die grinders I may need to run the extra tank to make up the difference. I'm gonna check out the rollair v25 for possible future upgrades

ROLAIR VT25BIG is $444 at amazon , I would not call it similar price point but thanks for letting us know about it. I got this one for $300 at home depot. but I may return it and get the one you suggested.

This thing is a tank (!). Typical japanese over-engineered. Boy I like it so much I'm buying one. Thanks. (!).

How heavy is the unit to pick up? Thanks

Its a big boy for sure. There are varying and conflicting numbers being given online regarding the weight. From 75-107lbs. Makita says the compressor alone weighs 88lbs so id say the 107 is probably the most accurate. I am 6'3" 230lbs and do not enjoy lifting it into my truck. Its a behemoth

@@mechanuts7191 Thanks man. I used to able to handle that kind of weight to lift, pull, or tussle but now 50 pounds kicks my @$$.

@@houndsmanone4563 Me too. I have ramps I use for my compressor, pressure washer, generator etc. Otherwise Id be limited to a smaller unit myself. I felt it the next day the first and only time I put it in my truck by lifting it.

@@mechanuts7191 Please do, MechaNuts. I have 2 more empty spools (1large, 1 small) to use as some form of tool holders or work table. Enjoyed your channel 👍🏽🙂.

Isn't the 5200 a big bore? I thought the big bore were quieter than that. I know my mac700 is very quiet.

it is advertised as a big bore. Mind you that video was made in a small enclosed room that amplified the sound. It seems much quieter in the shop from 20ft away. It fills quick enough that it doesn't really cause an issue.
