You guys know how we always talk about how expensive tools are cheaper long term? This is an example of that, $400 compressor divided across 8 years is only $50 a year, or about $4.17 a month. You can't even buy a sandwich for that, but you can have compressed air on tap. I'm thrilled with this thing. Plus those numbers are if it stopped working right now, the longer it keeps running the cheaper it gets.
I picked up a similar unit for the garage / shop at the farm and we use it for everything. Inflating tires, impact wrenches, die grinders, etc. and just have been smart about how much you draw at once and just wait for it to fill.
Have you ran any impact wrenches on this? I have a .9hp 150fps 6 gallon compressor right now and I've been looking for a new compressor since this one is for home use. My main impact requires 6.5 cfm which is what this compressor runs as. Do you think this compressor is good enough? If not, I'll begin saving for a large compressor which would definitely be preferred. Thanks for the long term review!
My only dislike is that the discharge tube is not at the lowest point and the tank has to be lifted forward to get all the water out. Unless someone has a solution for this problem, this is my problem with it.
I used this for detailing for a year. It runs a lot with the tornador but you can use it constantly for as long as you want. I was mobile so this was literally the only thing on the market that was small enough and had enough CFM for detailing and big air tools. The 6.5 cfm is crazy at this size

Great review. There just isn’t real life long term reviews out there .

I still got one of them compressors after 15 years still chooching with frequent use.
Is the Mac5200 compatible with Constant Current power sources such as that supplied by a Hobart Champion Elite 260 ?

Salutations Chuck! Enjoy the weather today
Good review and suggestions.
Can I run this on a 5kw generator? At 20amps on 120 it's 2400 but starting would be more like 7200 right?
How long is the run time of this compressor before refill when using auto detailing tools like tornador max?

@@chasedyer9819 oh ok , but i think a bigger tank would be better, because im not mobile anymore, do u happen to have some recommendations?
Is it normal to feel a draft of air on the side of this air compressor while its compressing air?
Yeah probably coming from the intake
