Nohebi actually IS a defensive team! Their strengths are high level defence, controlled serves and clever attacks to work off blocking-all things Kuroo praises them for in the manga. They’re just as stubborn and tenacious as Nekoma when it comes to digging up the ball, which is why they’re such good rivals! Of course they definitely still cheat, but at least in Daishou’s case it’s not to cut any corners, rather to do /everything/ to increase their advantage on top of their genuine skilled playing. Not intending this a negative comment at all!! I just love talking about the snakes AHA great video as always!!

Season 4’s music is so good, Yuki Hayashi and Asami Tachibana (not enough people credit her for working on Haikyuu’s ost too!) do such a great job in creating music that elevates the atmosphere/mood. I love all the Nekoma relationships that we see over these two episodes (obviously Kenma + Tora and Kenma + Kuroo, but also just the third years hanging out! the other second years overreacting to Kenma calling them friends!), and Kenma cursing gravity for existing is hilarious, but I think my favorite moment is still that little twinkle in Fukunaga's eye (the weird jokes guy) right before he scores the last point. Those moments where someone on your team does something perfectly and you both KNOW it was perfect are some of my best sports memories.

After watching haikyuu, I’ve actually stopped referring opposing teams as ‘the enemy’ . I coach as my secondary occupation and putting myself in this mindset has helped make connections to other teams and players to hold camps like in the beginning of season 4 raising the level of play in my local teams … more of them are going to college for the sport I coach and as a whole our area is now being looked as by more coaches as a recruiting ground … a rising tide lifts all boats … great mindset to adopt !
Might be a hot take, but Yaku is the best libero we have seen playing in the show so far. Nishi is the second best. Ofcourse since nishi is part of our protagonist team, he gets more spotlight , but I firmly believe that Yaku currently is a stronger libero. Like, imagine being libero in a defensive team like Nekoma. That is such a coveted position for any libero.
Bruninho and Lucão mentioned RAHHHHH, but yeah their connection is out of this world! Besides playing together for +10 years they've also become really good friends to the point that Bruninho is Luca's groomsmen! In the last few years (specially in the olympics and this year VNL) the fact that they've played together for so long kinda backfired as their typical plays became too predicable and killed brazil's middle game this year (🥲). Well, good thing about brazil, especially in the man's volleyball, is that they are not lacking in quality younger middle blockers lmaoo.
I just got into a Haikyuu stage play rabbit hole, it's a pity that I can't find where to watch it with subs but just the dances and the actors make me love Nekoma more. They were always amongst my favourite but the plays push them to the top, I love what they did with the Tokyo qualifiers funny enough, from what I can understand (since I can only guess what they said), they were more faithful than the anime. I've never seen anyone comment on this but if you notice Tora and kenma's hair. Tora is blonde on the top with gray sides and kenma has blonde tips and gray roots in the middle, from a character design perspective I think its meant to symbolize how different they are but they sort of compliment each other. Also shows their relationship with each other. But my head canon is Tora got his hair dyed first then he kept bugging kenma to dye his hair too as a symbol of their friendship and to make him stop he agreed to dye his hair only once that's why his roots are now showing cause he's growing it out but tora keeps on recoloring his.
Sorry to break it to you, but there is a short story that explains Kenma's hair, if it makes it better it was kind of thanks to Tora, although he didn't mean to, and in the end of the chapter Yaku (or another of the third years can't remember who specically) said that weirdly now Kenma actually blends in the team, since they all have their weird characteristics
Not to sound like a Jehoda's Witness here, but have you seen One Piece? You seem to take much joy out of this show's depictions of both friendship and camaraderie and that just made me think you may really like the concept of "nakama", which is explicitly a main theme on One Piece. In case you haven't, but it seems too much of undertaking to you, there's a more compact remake coming out now. If it comes out good, I think it may be worth your time. Also, these have become my favorite Haikyuu reactions, thanks for all the hard work and player insights 💪
