I'm posting this October 5th 2024, was this as bad as bad back in January as it is today in your area after Hurricane Helene??
    I'm guessing not.
Maybe the water was but the catastrophic damage now is just unbelievable.Even when you walked the valley this last few days in your videos I could hear the disbelief in your voice. To see the magnitude of destruction to everything now is heartbreaking. So many dead from this massive beast that had no pitty on anyone.
It just destroyed everything in its path.
I will be 64 oct 22nd I've never seen anything that compares to this in person or by video.
Thanks so much for walking the places you did. Your videos are the best at showing the real affects of wahts happened to your community.
God bless you young man 🙏

Love that 'Yota! Man, I guess that almost the entire U.S. has been affected by this storm. Down here in Florida, it blew through our neck of what is left of any semblance of woods right around 9:45 PM last night. Caused a bit of rain, but nothing like you guys got up there! The last couple cold fronts before this one really SOAKED us good though, and between those 2 previous fronts I'd say we easily got 9" or so of precip at the ranch. This year is going to be a whopper for all types of out-of-the-ordinary events I'm afraid. Thanks for sharing Mark, y'all be safe and peace to you and the family

That sucks. I hope everyone made it out safe. Hendersonville is one of my favorite places in the U.S. Peaceful and beautiful...

@@MarkHuneycutt Very nice. I was going to purchase some land there and retire in a decade+. I have decided to leave the U.S. instead, I have family in the Philippines. If that plan changes abroad. Hendersonville is the choice for me. The temperature is great (southeast Texas guy here), the people are polite/respectful, the population still loves this country and there is a smalltown vibe that I enjoy. Sadly, due to the size of Ashville. Hendersonville will only grow, hopefully slower than normal.

@lemaitrethemonk it's definitely growing but still a great place

Brings back memories of your hurricane kayak video you did several years back. Quite the storm yesterday. Hearing another one coming this Friday. Making up for the dry summer all at once.

We got hit with the same storm. I liked the shots from atop your truck at 6:13, pretty cool! The island part would have been funny if you had Wilson from the movie Cast Away lol

Wild! Thanks for sharing. Up in Asheville, Carrier Park was completely under water (which isn't surprising I suppose). In any case, hope everyone's okay.

Nice underbridge get down on it camera angles. Loved Mark's Island which hole laughing pretty heavy flood that's painful money for stores and businesses. I really enjoyed you creative camera work; it would make for good flyover perhaps do a hi Def and sell video of area town flooding to news network local TV so long as you can put up a TH-cam, it's different group, of your own.
This is a neat thoughtful impressive video. You must have layed down on ground to take those under bridge hey look the water is right under bridge all the way up; a whole different stress upon bridge structure.
