It says in the exo post on their instagram and twitter accounts and I quote: "Speed loving bikers enter the fragment of frozen time as they log into the red cube. Solving the given puzzle is the only route for all to escape. However, the bikers are unable to resist the temptation and renters the cube"...so basically, you can see at the beginning that Lay (the first to appear) disappears inside the cube (and I assume he is the last to enter as he wasn't here for the last time, and that the rest of the members are already in the cube), according to the post, they "enter the fragment of frozen time", which is why at some point in the MV you see that everyone is frozen, and the only way to leave is by "solving the given puzzle" which is why we see D.O and Xiumin trying to solve the puzzle in the chess table, as well as a few other members holding misshaped cubes. At the end, we can see that they are able to solve the puzzle, which is when the green light appears, thus signalling that they can leave, which they do like we see just at the end (riding the bikes). However, like the post says, they are "unable to resist the temptation and reenter the cube" which we see this at the very end when Baekhyun returns with the small cube in his hand. This is a very simplistic explanation though...I am sure there is a lot more than it meets the eyes.
What is the temptation tho?
Naila Kamana the red force from their Power era. The red force is always represented as some type of temptation in each EXO mv. Kokobop era was basically to represent the fact they escaped from the red force but somehow EXO are idiots so they willingly went back to the red force 😂

Basically, they're trapped in the Red Cube and when they manage to assamble that glass cube they played chess with, it opens up a way for them to escape. Except one of them is tempted by it and returns to the Red Cube at the end, so others will probably be back to rescue him.
Exo has this whole storyline of being aliens with superpowers who are hunted by their enemy the Red Force. Every mv has a story that's somehow connected to that, there's even a comic about their powers, let's just say if you're not a hardcore fan - it's a lot 😂😂
