Umu is me when that a cappella section hit. I knew there was going to be a cappella because people had spoiled that much for me from the leaks, but it is very different hearing that there will be a cappella and actively experiencing it in the song

giselluna125 I mean the acapella part was informed by SM themselves thru Tempo's detail way before the leak, along with the hiphop genre.
Another cool thing about this song is that the end part of the bridge, is actually the beginning!!! But it's sung so differently that you don't notice immediately. But I guess that makes the acapella part the bridge, but the second part more of an alternative pre-chorus.

Watching this again. You guys should really be proud of yourselves. A key point of mastery (in learning) is transference. What Kevin and even Umu is doing here is exactly that. They're taking the things they've learned and applying it to different contexts. I really want the composer of this song to watch this review.
There were fans saying that the different sections in the song depict the "Allegro, Moderato and Andante" album versions(i.e. Andante for the a capella part) even if the tempo was almost the same throughout.

Yeay! I hope you don’t get hate for loving it :( i love how experimental it is because i think it shows their maturity that they can do this and produce those harmonies. Let’s be honest, if they released a very mainstream public friendly song now they’d get hate and be called boring even though if another group did it it would be amazing for them. The pressure is high to release something that shows growth every time.

I Got A Boy, Red Light, Tempo, Ice Cream Cake is a god-tier of SM. Some people might not understand this kind of song as some of it prefer verse-chorus-verse chorus kind of song but these song are very unique and it’s so original, no other group can outdo them.
