    I think the croquet picture is real, could just be me wanting it to be but something about the figure in the hat and sweater seems like billy to me.

    Photo at wedding:
    Thing is, even photos from the 1970s at weddings...are often difficult to identify people.

    Having always heard that the Maxwell House had washed away in that flood I always wondered how much information about the Kid's death might have been lost forever, BUT WOW!!! To find out that some of it was salvaged and used in another house that still stands...DOUBLE WOW!!! I totally understand your position about not showing any pictures of it...but could you PLEASE tell us what you would be looking for if you ever gain access to the home (which I pray you will someday)...I know bloodstains will be one thing, but anything else...maybe even give us part of an episode about the salvage of the Maxwell House and construction of the Ford home. Thanks Michael...great episode!

    The hat and sweater pulls you in more than anything else in the croquet photo. The person of interest sure dresses the part and could very well be Billy the Kid. Another great show Michael!!

    One detail that's kind of interesting in the Billy photo is the mannerisms in both photos are similar. Both images the person has the same lean to the same side and the footplacment isn't exact but the mannerisms is close.

      The thing about that is it's just a pose. Look at people of today, they generally pose for photos in the same fashion. If it's popular, people will emulate. I do believe it's billy though, that face he's making suits his personality perfectly.

    Great video Michael and I enjoy the history of the kid, I like that he leaves more questions then answers, makes he a enigma of lincoln county war story

    You brought up Brushy Bill Robert’s… When you find the time please compare the photo of Brushy posing aside Morrison with that photo you produced sometime ago of a young man sitting on a horse in Lincoln (Billy the Kid was supposedly written on back of photo)… The young man and Brushy have the same posture and shoulder stance.

    Has the croquet photo been looked at by anyone familiar with buildings of the 1870s? I'm not sure why, but it just doesnt look right to me. Looks closer to 1900-1915. I could be wrong. Just strikes me as off. Also, a window expert as to the pane count. The shake roof threw me off too. Not because they were not around. Just most of the homes of similar style In the west seem to have had tin roof. They were around no doubt, I've seen them further east.... Just observations.

    When you brought up the fact that there are several kids in the photo, but it seems that none of the named people in the photo had any children, I started to wonder if the building in the background was a school house. It does seem odd as to who did these children belong to? I agree with the picture of the lady that supposed to be Paulita Maxwell, that lady looks like a woman in her late thirties, early forties.

    • @MankindMediaLLC
      @MankindMediaLLC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a schoolhouse in later years, but not at this time, as I remember.

    I think it's interesting that the two girls and two boys standing on the left side of the photo are both dressed the same. It almost looks like they are the same kids just imposed or something onto the photo. I mean the two boys are dressed alike and the two girls look to have the same dresses and shoes on. I mean why does it look like the boys and girls are in the same photo twice. I wonder if the photographer was just playing with the glass plates and put one over the other somehow. I think thoes 4? kids are the same 2? kids.

    croquet photo: Looks more like Paulita next to the horse? Did the leaves fade from the trees? The trees are so large, building looks new. Guy pointing has curly hair like the guy in Poker Billy picture.

    • @MankindMediaLLC
      @MankindMediaLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      the story told is that because of drought, all of the trees dropped their leaves by Sep 1st that year. They all seemed to vanish from the ground pretty quick too.

    In all of the Maxwell house photos I still don't see a peach orchard. In the Billy the Kid Museum in I believe Fort Sumner, there's a new paper article that says the deputies & Pat Garret waited in the peach orchard for Billy to show up. It then puts Garret in Petes bedroom, and the rest is history. I believe it's from one of the deputies, maybe Coe, and it's a sworn statement made 36 years after the fact. The one that then became sheriff.

    So I’m not sure if you all know this. I watched a documentary about this photo and how they went through the process of trying to prove the legitimacy of the photo. They where able to prove that the photo is a legit photo of Billy and some of the other regulators playing croquet
