The answer was clear. US is doing the same thing. Why in Russia they are calling them "oposition" and in US they are calling them "domestic terrorists". That was his answer. US is more concerned about other countries domestic politics intead of their own. How would Biden or any US president answer if russian journalists came in US and start accusing him of non existend south border, of highest homelessness in history, on highest inflation in history etc...
Putin's "non answer" was actually a fairly easy to understand answer. The same is happenning in the USA, why dies no one bat an eye about it an considers it acceptable? It would have been interesring to see some kind of joint interview between Putin and Biden and have this question asked right there. Would have made for a rather interesting debate on suppression of political dissidents.

The politicians mentioned by the reporter (who were all poisoned, shot, or jailed btw) committed the crime of running against Putin, exposing his corruption and gaining the liking of Russian citizens.
There are also (literally) countless reporters and activists that have gone missing (and some of them found dead) for similar reasons - these cases are not even reported/known by the western media.
Feel free to give me ONE example of a reporter or politician that has been assassinated for running against or criticizing Obama, Trump, or Biden.

This is a good excuse when question is asked by US journalist.
Standard response to any criticism levelled at Russia...
Notice how instead of answering the question about why his opponents are dead he just keeps saying "Well the united states did X Y and Z"
Tells more truth than western politicians then.
But that's the answer... he's saying his political opponents did things similar to things that have happened in the USA and that's why they are imprisoned or dead. How is that avoiding the question? I don't know if what he's saying is true or not, it might not be, but it's certainly not avoiding the question.
@@Dyils it is avoiding the question. The question was “why are YOU afraid of other politicians. Not “what are the similarities between America and Russia”. Even if American politicians lie more and do the same things as Putin (ie. have people killed and poisoned on a regular basis), he was supposed to answer WHY does HE do it?
@@TonyStark-ir8ke But he DID answer it. He gave an example of something that happened in the USA where the people are now facing charges for what they had done. He's saying that he's justified to do that to the people he's done it to because of the same reasons - they've done something wrong in his eyes, just like the people he gave as an example.
That's his answer! That's why he does it. That's why he feels justified to do it. He answered it. He does it for the same reasons the people he gave in his example are facing charges in the USA - because they did something wrong (in his eyes). He's drawing parallels between the two events to justify what's also happened in Russia.
Now, you are free to think that what he's saying is false. And it might be, I'm not informed well enough to know if it's true. I don't know if the people he's referring to have actually done something illegal. But it's not avoiding the question.

In America they have the Tweeter Prison, the Facebook Prison and the cancel culture to silence their political opponents, I only have regular prisons in my country.

Not only that. His response to why are they dead is "they are terrorists". So he's coming right out and saying he killed them when he justifies it by classifying them. She calls him out and asks only about the dead and poisoned, he responds by saying "yes, about the ones in prison..."
