- After a long time of waiting for it's release date, I finally got my hands on the new Lego Harry Potter Hogsmeade set. Having analysed the images for so long I was very excited to get my hands on it.
I definitely have some thoughts on it so jumped on camera to chat about it.
Have you build it yet? What do you think of the set and how are you planning on using it?
I have seem some people plan to incorporate it in their Theme Park or make it part of the Winter Village set up.
All in all a versatile little set that can be used for so many scenarios.

Thank you for your enthusiastic review of this set. My better half is a huge HP fan and I'm picking up this set and The Burrow for her upcoming birthday. Really appreciated you showing off some of the details and sharing your thoughts. Keep up the great work!
I agree with all your points - applying stickers on the clear pieces is not fun because of the smudge that occurs if you need to do any correcting. I have built Honeydukes so far and can already see the modifications that I will make (mostly because I want it a little bigger). I have not seen any mods yet (will have to search for any). I am very happy with this set and will also build Zonkos and the Tea shop to start. I do think more Hogsmeade sets could be in the works for next year but regardless lots of building still to do.

LOVE your channel! Had a BLAST putting together this set. The accuracy of the buildings to the Hogsmeade in the parks and POA contributed to this set being the funnest (of 2021) to me.

Completely agree with the stickers and the hinges. I had trouble with them as well. I even removed some bricks to get better access to connecting the hinges. It turned out well in the end.
I always find the hinges quite tricky to put together. I just ended up snapping them together away from the build and then just adding them 'whole' if that makes any sense at all :P Glad you liked the review!

Hahaha well spotted, and yes I actually filmed the video for that already but felt like my thoughts on the Hogsmeade set needed to be released first. Fear not it is coming probably Thursday I imagine
It’s tiny but beautiful ! I loved putting it together ♥️ but those roofs are so hard and awkward to get in , I got hubby to do mine 😊 have a great day and thanks for sharing 😊
I deny myself looking at any 'new Harry Potter sets' videos, because mine are still in delivery... But I'm pretty sure Hogsmeade is a blast. ;) Happy building!

@@HighTeaToys Sooo I finally got the 'whole' wave (sparing out the chess set, haven't got any room for it right now). Hogsmeade indead IS a blast (and the best set of the wave imho, followed shortly by the potion bathroom). But the stickers where a real pain imho - actually it was the first time I sweated while applying the ones on Honeydukes' front. ;)
Got 11 out of 16 frog tiles with 4 (!) copies of Newt Scamander ... I hope there will be some sort of online swapping portals (pretty sure that's NOT the correct term for it :D ) for them.

Lego bricks only fade if they are being directly hit by sun rays for long periods of time, not if there is sun light spreading in your room, as long as you keep them out of the direct UV rays there aren’t any issues

It is hardly ever in direct sunlight, but it is also the only room in my house it can sit in. No basements for us in the UK unfortunately.
I've finally bought it today. I'm really excited to build it now 😊 My daughters also love the HP sets, so I suspect the giant box of that theme will be coming out once this is made 👌🏼
That is amazing! My video coming out later today is actually about me expanding my Hogsmeade display! I love this set so much.

The gingerbread house has same issue with roofs complete pain in the ass to do. Had to do mine twice as added lighting kit after built.. total mare.
I have put a link in the description to an Instagram channel that did some nice little mods, a few of which I plan on doing too if you are interested. It would be great to get more Honeydukes sets. Maybe they'll do a Hogs Head as that would fit the Deathly Hallows theme (if we even get that wave). I'll be sure to share any upates to the Hogsmeade area :)

Good to have your assessment. 👍 I did buy 2 and plan to enlarge/ revise and additionally build a similar building style for a Hogsmeade station ticket office. Well, that’s the plan anyway. 🙄Will probably defer this project to later in the year.
I still haven’t bought into the $250 ‘buildable items’ set. I think we’re getting something better. Hope springs external.🤞
That is an excellent plan and one that I mean to partake in as well, though having placed these buildings in the Kalax unit I have less space left then I thought. Oh well.

Yeah, not the most interesting Set for me, but I appreciate that it exists. I really like the HP Sets since the 2018 reboot and I own 2 of them but I‘m just not interested in the Hogwarts Sets or Fasades but I looove Fawkes but I‘ll not get him cause I can‘t even afford all the Star Wars and Ninjago Sets I want 🤦♂️😬 also I think it’s really sad that the Lego CITY Sets are not really good for building a Lego City cause it feels like they are about 85% vehicles and the rest are Fasades and the Town Hall/ Marketplace kinda Sets. But I do love Lego Trains so much but I don’t own any cause the ones on shelves right now are not that good 🤷♂️ and every retired train/trainstation, train accessory set is ridiculously expensive because many people like Lego Trains.
Interesting points you make. I actually kind of agree with the Hogwarts sets. They aren't my favourite, mostly as I don't think they look like Hogwarts when put together. In contrast I do kind of like the one from this year though. Also with regards to City you are right. I think if you have an AFOL Lego city, buying any of the City sets can be a jumping off point for a MOC but is never the whole thing. But then if they were all proper modular sized buildings then they would be crazy expensive and they wouldn't work as children's toys. Personally I am kind of glad I don't need to also buy the City sets :P. The Budget gets broken enough as it is.
Yeah that’s right but it would be nice if there was something else than Modulars. A new Line specifically for City building with like different shops, town hall and train station kinda things to make it easier to start a City I don’t have a City because of Money and Space Reasons but I‘d love to build one and I think I wouldn’t use the modulars I would try to build my own houses and Shops and with modulars you are pretty limited to a 32x32 or 16x32 Space for example I‘d like to kinda make a modular City with like all the storys being detachable but I‘d use a 16x16 base for houses and Shops because then you’re kinda more free and could make so much more stuff 🤔

I am sooo disappointed with this set!! The pink on my clear-backed stickers is translucent and so it becomes desaturated and barely visible on the green brick in front ! 🤬😡🤬
