Just a few ideas they could've done: The opening chase with harry and Hagrid on the motorbike, hedwig and voldemort. Plus they could re use the parts they made from the battle of hogwarts set. The lovegood home with Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Xenofelus lovegood and two deatheaters. Would include a new book with tales of beetle the bard print, the floating Dirigible plums and the quibler printing press. For the hogwarts set of the wave I'd Still make it the boathouse. The largest set of the wave would be Malfoy Manor with Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Draco, Narcissa, Belatrix, Wormtongue, Olivander, Luna and Dobby. Griphook would be absent because he was already in the gringotts set so he can be missed here. You could include him But he doesn't add much. You can drop the chandelier and have an underground section where they have them imprisoned. You could even include the table where the deatheaters have their meeting. This would also be a good Place to put those spell pieces.
@@Nio744 yea I’m glad to see the boathouse. I believe it’s the first time we’ve had it as its own set since the theme returned in 2018 so it makes sense to start a new version of hogwarts with the very first scene.
@@realbrigidtenenbaum I feel sorry for you-genuinely. I was really into Ravenclaw before going through the Sorting and becoming a Hufflepuff (and I wouldn't wanna have it any other way 💛🖤), and I can't imagine the pain of essentially all my house merch and the films having the wrong logo. 😖 I can but hope that the series will, at the very least, get the Ravenclaw logo right. 🤞
It's funny because that piece has always been a Mega Construx piece, and its weird that lego now has quite a few pieces that mega made first. Ad a collector of both lego and mega, I find this quite humorous

Very true! I always wonder why this is though - I swear the printed pieces in sets I used to have as a kid were way higher quality in terms of colour and opacity than the average now.
It's most certainly cheaper to make stickers instead of dedicated printed bricks. It's a shame, the only stickers I have on sets from my childhood are peeling terribly, while the printed pieces will obviously look outstanding forever
On the one hand it seems like this wave is trying to win back the slightly older crowd the theme was targeted at from 2018-20 by making a less blocky castle, returning to the gray roofs, and dropping the disposable foldout sets. At the same time there’s a lot of that early 2000s HP magic here for the first time in awhile, most obviously in the hidden compartment in the boathouse set which feels straight out of 2001. All the creatures in the hogwarts sets are very early 2000s too. I think this third iteration of the rebooted theme could be one of the best based on just these smaller sets. Also I hadn’t realized how different the new flying car is. It’s still an easy pass for me though and I’ll wait until it’s inevitably rereleased again. Not all positives though. Hagrid’s Hut and especially the sorting hat feel very overpriced. The sorting hat also really doesn’t look like it’s at the level of detail I’d expect for an 18+ set but I’m not sure what could’ve been done to improve it.
This wave clearly shows that the team has been listening to feedback, which is really cool to see. Gets me very excited about the future of the theme! I'd agree though about the pricing, and say it's best to pick most of these up at a discount
Cho was in 6th year when the owlery encounter was done and Harry was in 5th year. It's odd for them to use medium legs for young adults but Daniel Radcliffe is a short king so

Love the forbidden forest. Its strange - if a set like that were released on the star wars side of things people would have a mental breakdown over how inaccurate it is. A lot of the magic and creativity of lego has been lost to that mindset.
It's really sad to see IMO. I don't get the point of holding LEGO to the standard of 100% accuracy for playsets. Sure, find, your UCS should be. But I love when LEGO designers are given the chance to improve upon the source material, or better yet, come up with something new altogether!
@@CheeseyStudios I entirely agree. Some of my favorite parts of star wars sets as a kid were little things the designers threw in for fun, like the speeders in that red republic cruiser. Alternate builds too! With how many licensed themes exist these days it's really disheartening, as much as I like them I personally believe we need more original themes. They are becoming display pieces more and more than toys, and while not inherently a terrible thing for many afols that little spark of joy things like that create could go a long way to reignite imagination.
What an amazing wave! I will say if I did have plans to pick up at-least one of these sets, but after your reviews, I’m sold. These sets look really great and you did a simply fantastic job showcasing them. Totally thought of crystal king too, and I was just so flabbergasted with how they achieved that roof as a fellow moc builder that has attempted its daunting shaping. The gatehouse has to be the first one I’m picking up. (Yes that was influenced by the new frog, I must have them all and once you get the trans green one down the rest sort of become formalities xD) anywho, this is a wonderful wave and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for lego Harry Potter.

my only problem with these sets are the cartoony looks to the animals but lego has been doing that for a while now. i’ve always loved the original dragon piece that used to be norbert
Harry Potter video!! So happy to hear your thoughts on this wave... I know the boathouse set in autumn time frame makes it unlikely but I wish they would do the entire castle reboot set in winter with snow covering all the buildings, the white tops on the dark bluish gray roofs looks gorgeous 😊
Great to see the car as its own set. I’ve been getting some of the speed champions cars that have been film cars (James bond, Fast and furious etc) and the smaller Batmobile so I may get that to go along with them.
Iirc the Hagrids Hut set was specifically designed to connect to the Forbidden Forest. Given that the only negative I have for it is the lack of a 3rd connection point so you can connect it and those side builds at the same time.
I really love how magical and whimsical all these sets look! It's just the best marriage between the 2001 line you covered for the retrospective, and today's better construction and higher cuantity of useful or versatile pieces!
The designers are definitely listening to feedback - I think these are a major improvement over most of the waves we've seen from the reboot! Hopefully this energy continues going forward. If so, this summer is going to be pretty awesome :o
@@CheeseyStudios I hope so. Also, another positive for me, it's getting the flying car for cheap and in a dedicated set. I really liked that car since I was little, and to not have It as a sub-build in a Big, expensive set is real cool. Oh, and to get a Mac Gonagall with all of those printed trisquelions on her cloak for cheap is amazing as well.
This new theme doesn’t initially look like it has much, but I wasn’t pleasantly surprised by what each set packs in. I do wish we could’ve gotten a bit grander boat house due to its significance in the final film, but for its first ever set this isnt too bad. Im sure its due to its scaling with the rest of the sets
It is a really fun touch! I'm so glad LEGO is still adding pixies in sets. I was worried it would end up being a one-off like so many other creatures in the past!
Star Wars fans: OMG the figures have HELMET HOLES to attach accessories? And there are prints that are just the slightest off to how they were in the show? Utter piece of trash, designers should be ashamed! HP fans: Haha this McGonagall fig is so cool and I like the imaginative dark forest and owlery sets! HP is really rocking it now! Seriously, I'm so sick of people in the Star Wars community just whining about every possible detail like the world's gonna fall apart
@@ihatehandleupdate for all they do is complain for either printing or the build and the price, yeah the price is a lot but that's what you expect for Star Wars

As someone who still has his original Hagrid's hut from 2000, I will admit, this latest one has a way better interior and roof. I could never get that paper roof to work right.
I bought the flying ford anglia a couple days ago on a school trip to Disneyland. I love it so much as a Harry Potter fan that hasn’t done much Lego before!!
@@CheeseyStudios I’ve always wanted to get into actually buying some ho Lego since playing both the Lego Harry Potter games multiple times on different consoles lol
I hope they make like a long-term, "slow burn" line up where all the sets are very detailed and high quality like this, and you can eventually build them together to the most detailed version of Hogwarts yet, with lots and lots of small and large locations from the individual sets.
Being a long time collector of this theme, I'm not excited by some of the sets, but of course I understand LEGO strategy to relaunch the theme every three year giving new collectors those iconic characters and locations. And, by the way, I appreciate that until now LEGO always tried to make sets interesting avoiding pure simple remakes. Hagrid's Hut is an example of this, considering this is the PS and CoS one, while the 2019 was the PoA one. So different hut, new characters, new moulds (but I would have prefered a dark brown or dark gray Fang). Owlery is a very good set too, while the Boathouse doesn't appeal me too much. Forbidden Forest, while having some interesting pieces, it's useless for me and overpriced. Considering this new Buckbeak appeared also in Sirius Escape set, overpriced too, I'm starting to suspect that the hyppogrif is boss of a gang of thiefs. Not being interested at all in LEGO objects I have no opinion on the Sorting Hat.
I already watched two reviews of this new hut, but can't miss your amazing reviews! So hyped to save some money for these 🤩🤩🤩 1. I was pretty suprised with new prints for Harry and Ron. It's shocking for me that something like ultimate Harry Potter is even getting updated prints! 2. This set is pretty unique! Pixie's print is new and it is nice to get another hipogriph (there were many according to the books, like a whole steed!) 3. This small owl is Pigwidgeon, Ron's owl from the books. Who would though that LEGO gonna make this one ? I wonder what these gray claw pieces are supposed to be, small owlhouses? Love this new print. Filch inclusion is dissapointing. New character from Goblet of Fire or maybe one student would be much better. Maybe older Seamus or Cedric with a Potter Stinks badge! 4. I really want to hear all the combinations. Honestly, I was hoping for international (mostly) four options for each house and 27 with one line in diffrent languages 5. Hut is a w e s o m e. Gloves were acomplished really clever. I love Hagird and this variant is great. Portraits are interesting, can't wait to get my hands on them;) I'm waiting for your boat house review. There is maybe not much, but 6/10 2018 Macgonagal is put in a great shame by 10/10 new version :D
9:42 This set reminded me of Hogwarts legacy, first I will explain that in a certain part of story you have to find a certain ghost but how you find it varies by the house you are in(Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff) and if you are in Ravenclaw you will meet him in Owlery after you solve the puzzle, And yes I am a Ravenclaw (I also did the Official test on the wizarding world website (the official HP site run by the rights holders )
I am surprised we never got any Legacy sets! They're always trying to do sets for the Minecraft game spinoffs. I feel Legacy would have been far more successful!
I am really loving this new series. I see there are almost no stickers and the portraits are in a sepia tone (the faces are not yellow yellow, but at the very least yellow enough that you can use the knight and such as medieval lego / castle portraits. Now as a jealous castle fan, I do wonder why they started using only prints here. Not that I am complaining, I might actually get these sets and be happy about them, butt he HP sets were always expensive - and had a ton of stickers, so this can't be the reason why they are focusing on prints only, or mostly / many prints. I was under the impression that the 18+ sets get prints - however the medieval town and the sorting hat both have ... stickers. So what exactly gives with that?
If only we could fathom LEGO's reasoning 🤣 I think in general LEGO fans have voiced their concerns about having too many stickers in sets, and this is likely a reaction to that. Sets used to have 20 stickers, but now most of that detail is being accomplished with bricks rather than 20 new prints
Do you know if any of the previous ford Anglias were the same as you mentioned this was the third? With original 4 privet drive With Hogwarts express With newer 4 privet drive With whomping willow Stand-alone
good to see grey Hogwarts grey roofs back again, definitely getting the owlery and boathouse, and highly considering hagrids hut as an extension of the hut i own already (2019 version), not sure about the sorting hat yet. other stuff i wont be getting.
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually really excited about LEGO Harry Potter again! These set's are really nice, and of course your review is delightful as always😃 I really should get back to making Harry Potter videos though, I miss it so much 😅
One strange thought- This may be Lego’s final cycle for Harry Potter- the film series. The series is supposedly coming in 2026. Maybe these sets and the upcoming 2 years of sets are Lego giving the film series a “last hurrah, pull out all the stops, best of the best” line.
Not super into the whole Harry Potter thing, but some of these pieces and colors are just amazing. A 1x2 slope WITHOUT the holes is already amazing, but A SOUND BRICK?! I'm sure SOMEBODY in the community will figure out how to mod that thing in due time, and that opens up a whole world of possibilities for MOCs. Oh, and I forgot to mention the OBVIOUS best part, the RECOLORED FROG! Seriously, always great to get more frogs.
I haven't purchased much HP, trying not to fall down the proverbial rabbit hole. 🤣! However, I did purchase the Micro scale Hogwarts last fall per your recommendation, Thx ! Having watched this review, I've decided to get the New Hut & Owlery. Thanks for the Great review Cheesey ! 💕
I like this one at first I wasn't sure given it's price but for almost 900 pieces I think it will be worth it it's obviously going to be more detailed then before which is cool
I was pretty impressed honestly. I think it's a lil pricey for the size, but you'll definitely feel the value if you build it. There's a lot of pieces for sure
I feel like just about everything I've been seeing in this wave is heavily overpriced. The only two mentioned here I'd say are reasonable are the Ford and the Boathouse (though I would say the Boathouse could stand to lose just a few dollars)
Having built the boathouse, it definitely feels smaller than I even thought it would be. All the minifigures and animals help me feel better about the price though
@@CheeseyStudios Definitely, I think the little extras and number of minifigs make it the best solo purchase for the wave. It's important to remember that kids make up alot of Lego, and there's alot more for them to tell with minifigs and extras. You can always get more building pieces in the end
@@CheeseyStudios Love your videos! You always make me want these sets! When I first saw the new Hagrid's hut, I didn't want it because I have the 2019 one. But now after watching this, I want it
@@CheeseyStudios yeah I mean that is the only thing that is giving me pause. Don’t want to pay full wack for it so will keep my eye out for a reduced price one!

ooh the rubber spike piece use is very nice
I cant believe only now we get olive green frog
It is kinda funny because that basically is THE frog color xD
The printed Eeylops brick in the Owlery set tells me it’s all but certain that an Eeylops Owl Emporium set is in the pipeline 🤓
Trueeeee
I like the new face print for the Cornish Pixie, with them winking
It is a really fun touch! I'm so glad LEGO is still adding pixies in sets. I was worried it would end up being a one-off like so many other creatures in the past!
9:07 THEY GOT PIDWIGEON!!!
(Ron's owl)
He's so adorable 😩
Love to see a return of the grey roofs, also more play sets that aren't humongous and break the bank.
I fear that this summer will bring on the bank-busting sets 😂 But am I very glad that these all exist, and both castle expansions here are great!
Yeah it’s nice to have a few small sets thrown in for those of us who don’t want to take out a bank loan to afford the big ones 😅
Lego Star Wars fans and lego Harry Potter fans are so much different and I’m all for it
Ain't that the truth lol
1:58 this piece will be so useful! I always wanted something like it
Its nice to get the ford anglia in it's own set, also the recolor is great
The forbidden forest set should be half the price
The sorting hat is an awesome set, but iy should also be half the price. I hope the sound brick and house prints come in other sets in future
Hagrids hut is awesome, I just wish it was cheaper
18:35 Those mitts are amazing
Amazing wave
Licensed theme prices are so rough these days 😭
As I've always suspected. Caleb is a Slytherin!
The secret's out! xD
As someone who still has his original Hagrid's hut from 2000, I will admit, this latest one has a way better interior and roof. I could never get that paper roof to work right.
It is kind of a nightmare 🤣
I live for these review videos! Gives me an idea of which sets i should buy. Thanks once again for the great video!
No problem at all! Really glad you found this useful.
I bought the flying ford anglia a couple days ago on a school trip to Disneyland. I love it so much as a Harry Potter fan that hasn’t done much Lego before!!
That's awesome! The world of LEGO Harry Potter is so much. I think you're going to enjoy it a lot :)
@@CheeseyStudios I’ve always wanted to get into actually buying some ho Lego since playing both the Lego Harry Potter games multiple times on different consoles lol
Those torso prints are great!
I was surprised to get so many new ones! Love to see it
I hope they make like a long-term, "slow burn" line up where all the sets are very detailed and high quality like this, and you can eventually build them together to the most detailed version of Hogwarts yet, with lots and lots of small and large locations from the individual sets.
The instructions do say "Build the most detailed Hogwarts" - hopefully that's real and not just marketing tactic 😂
Yeah, the Sorting Hat is definitely something I wouldn't have gone out of my way to get either. The new Harry face prints though are a nice touch
What did you get when under the hat?
I got brick-irin
Definitely a huge missed opportunity that the sorting hat doesn't say anything punny
I already watched two reviews of this new hut, but can't miss your amazing reviews! So hyped to save some money for these 🤩🤩🤩
1. I was pretty suprised with new prints for Harry and Ron. It's shocking for me that something like ultimate Harry Potter is even getting updated prints!
2. This set is pretty unique! Pixie's print is new and it is nice to get another hipogriph (there were many according to the books, like a whole steed!)
Honestly, I was hoping for international (mostly) four options for each house and 27 with one line in diffrent languages
5. Hut is a w e s o m e. Gloves were acomplished really clever. I love Hagird and this variant is great. Portraits are interesting, can't wait to get my hands on them;)
I'm waiting for your boat house review. There is maybe not much, but 6/10 2018 Macgonagal is put in a great shame by 10/10 new version :D
I don't know if you had a chance to see, but I did find the boathouse early and snuck it into this video at the end!
@@CheeseyStudios Thanks for clearing this out :)) Now the review is complete (better don't talk bout Hedwig)
Just a thought, what happened to the movable children leg piece? It was a great piece for mini figs, such a shame they don’t use it more often.
That's what's used in the Owlery set! It's slightly taller than short legs, so they use it for teenagers basically
That Olive Green Frog made my day
I'm so glad they finally made it in that color!
Would have been really nice to include a centaur or unicorn in the hidden forest since it was called magical creatures
That would have been really nice, yeah
11:24 I’m guessing they will include more of these in the summer wave
100%!
filch is there because beginning of five. it makes ur where it’s both interactions with cho
That makes sense!
I like how you interact and take suggestions from people on your vids, and spend time and money to make each video, love your vids 😊
So glad you enjoy! These are a pleasure to make.
i’m really looking forward to adding these sets to my harry potter collection, awesome
video!
Thank you! ❤️ It's a really strong wave, and you're really going to enjoy these sets
I REALLY hope that new slope will NOT break as all minislopes do nowadays!
I sure hope it doesn't either 😩
9:42 This set reminded me of Hogwarts legacy, first I will explain that in a certain part of story you have to find a certain ghost but how you find it varies by the house you are in(Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff) and if you are in Ravenclaw you will meet him in Owlery after you solve the puzzle, And yes I am a Ravenclaw (I also did the Official test on the wizarding world website (the official HP site run by the rights holders )
I really want minifigs from Hogwarts Legacy (especially Ominis).
Also I'm a fellow Ravenclaw.
I am surprised we never got any Legacy sets! They're always trying to do sets for the Minecraft game spinoffs. I feel Legacy would have been far more successful!
The little set info cards that appear ln screen feature British Pounds twice - I assume the number on the right is supposed to be Euro?
Oh RIP, sorry. Must have been a copy paste fail. Hope you still enjoyed the video!
@@CheeseyStudios I fully agree with your observation, yet there are sets (that medieval town square
I love the Hogwarts Owlery with five owls.
I'm very happy with how many animals they put into all these sets!
Need that flying Ford to go with my Hogwarts Express
They'll look great together!
There was also the 4728 Ford Anglia set haha that was the one I had as a kid
I'll have to make a video comparing all 5 or something 😂
I'm guessing the owlry does not have connection points because in the Hogwarts map the owlry is not connected to the castle in any way.
That's what I think too!
Wow! I never bought harry potter sets before but this new wave is super exciting! I might buy all the castle sets!
I think you'll really like them! They're beautiful models
Do you know if any of the previous ford Anglias were the same as you mentioned this was the third?
With original 4 privet drive
With Hogwarts express
With newer 4 privet drive
With whomping willow
Stand-alone
Sorry, I meant third post-2018 reboot. All 5 are unique and I own each one. Hope you still enjoyed the video!
@@CheeseyStudios no worries! Just wanted to figure out if they were any that were the same because it made me think about how many we got
good to see grey Hogwarts grey roofs back again, definitely getting the owlery and boathouse, and highly considering hagrids hut as an extension of the hut i own already (2019 version), not sure about the sorting hat yet. other stuff i wont be getting.
You'll definitely enjoy the Hogwarts expansions, and the new hut is a major improvement on the old one! You wouldn't regret picking it up.
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually really excited about LEGO Harry Potter again! These set's are really nice, and of course your review is delightful as always😃 I really should get back to making Harry Potter videos though, I miss it so much 😅
I hope these sets inspire you to get back into it! This seems to be a really promising start to this year
@@CheeseyStudios I hope they do 😅
And indeed it looks promising
Dang it, now I need to start over from my 2018 sets.
They do like restarting the theme, don't they? 😂
One strange thought-
This may be Lego’s final cycle for Harry Potter- the film series.
The series is supposedly coming in 2026.
Maybe these sets and the upcoming 2 years of sets are Lego giving the film series a “last hurrah, pull out all the stops, best of the best” line.
I hadn't thought about that. You could very well be right!
Would the 'dark orange luxury lounger' not be meant as a bed?
It's a chair, but I imagine he sleeps in it too, yeah. D,:
Not super into the whole Harry Potter thing, but some of these pieces and colors are just amazing. A 1x2 slope WITHOUT the holes is already amazing, but A SOUND BRICK?! I'm sure SOMEBODY in the community will figure out how to mod that thing in due time, and that opens up a whole world of possibilities for MOCs.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the OBVIOUS best part, the RECOLORED FROG! Seriously, always great to get more frogs.
I'm very excited to see how people use the sound brick too - it's quite an exciting new element!
I like the new direction for sure but the ‘skirt’ minifig pieces look so goofy to me
I think I prefer these to the cloth ones though, as they are a bit cleaner looking, and a lot easier to use
@@CheeseyStudios I could see that for sure, I don’t think I actually own one of the new ones yet
Is that a new cute plastic shape? You could do a whole new video just on that one!🤩
Gotta love new cute plastic shapes xD
Too expensive.
I like new animal molds, but old hut was already great.
I still dont understand why Fang is wrong Color.
Yeah, licensed theme prices these days just never quite sit right 😭
I really like all of the sets but I just wish that Hagrid’s Hut had the side part and not just a dog house.
That there would be the perfect Hagrid's Hut for sure. I wouldn't mind a $150 18+ version. That could be really sweet
I think that the little owl in the owlery is Seryes Black owl
Could be!
Glad you've been finding the reviews useful! I think you'll really enjoy the new sets ☺️
Ohhhh what a surprise twist at the end
I was pretty surprised to find that one too 😂
@@CheeseyStudios awesome hahaha
You can always get more building pieces in the end
sorting hat is really cool, absolutely not for me though. but hte moving mouth and soundbox is very fun
I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to pick it up either, especially for that price! But I am a sucker for an exclusive figure 😭
I feel like the sound brick could be good if there's a way to change what it says
I can't wait for someone to hack it xD
Yeah, I saw the Creatures in the Forbidden Forest (not sure that's the title) set early at Meijer
Oh hey, nice! It's always fun finding things early like that
@@CheeseyStudios Love your videos! You always make me want these sets! When I first saw the new Hagrid's hut, I didn't want it because I have the 2019 one. But now after watching this, I want it
8:15 Sand green...?
Mistake 😭 It'll never happen again, I swear. Hopefully you still enjoyed the video!
might try and find hagrids hut, i think it will look nice in a fantasy medieval village
Yeah! I think it would fit into a lot of even non-HP settings
@@CheeseyStudios forgive the pun but its just a great well rounded set
I’m not a big harry potter fan but I love unique and new pieces so this video was interesting.
Glad you still enjoyed! This line does a good job of adding lots of new and interesting things that are useful outside of Harry Potter.
Really want Hagrid’s hut! Might have to be my next purchase!
I really do love this model. It's a bit pricey, but easily the best hut they've made yet
@@CheeseyStudios yeah I mean that is the only thing that is giving me pause. Don’t want to pay full wack for it so will keep my eye out for a reduced price one!
oh you know it’s a good day when Cheesy posts! ❤️ Thanks for making my day brother!
Looks like some great pieces and some really good colors.. actually excited for the new sets of Harry Potter. Great video and review..
Appreciate it ❤️
We never had an animated LEGO Harry Potter material
RIP
I regret watching this video because it's making me want to start collecting hp sets again lol
The owelery looks so nice!
lol! The new wave here does seem to be drawing a lot of old fans back in. I'm really excited with the direction they're taking!
Such a wonderful wholesome review ❤
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed ❤️
I really want to pick up the filch figure and make it into Walder Frey or the first doctor
The face print is really good
@@CheeseyStudios it helps the actor played them all
It would be cool if we got a ford anglia set in the scale of the delorean or the porsche 911
I remember there were all sorts of rumors at one point that that was happening, and then it never did... I'm surprised it hasn't happened!
