Thank you I knew how to do it but I am at a hotel playing in a pool tournament am my roho got a leak so I watched to make sure I was doing it right. My experience is to use the patch they provide. Using other ways can be a nightmare and even though u fix the hole call roho and tell them so they can just send a new one. As long as you send the damaged one back once you get the replacement they are pretty good about honoring them. All my holes have came when I did not have a cushion cover on it. Thanks for the video
I've been using ROHOs for over 35 years and have a love-hate relationship with them. When they don't leak, they're wonderful. When they leak, they drive me and my wife crazy. If the leak is a big one and the cushion goes flat in minutes, then it's easy to find. She just fills up the laundry tub, over-inflates the cushion, and looks for bubbles. An easy way to mark the leak location is with a toothpick. Just snap one or two in half, hold them in your lips, and when you find the leak, just push one of the half toothpicks into it. Always check for a second or third leak and the borders of any older patches that may have loosened. The leaks that drive us crazy are the slow, sneaky ones. You know the type. You start the day fine, but a couple hours later you notice you've sunk down a ways. So you pump a little more air into the cushion. This goes on all day. After you go to bed, the wife is getting frustrated in the laundry room because she can't find anything after 30-45 minutes squeezing every cell and you're POed royally because you know you're not imagining a leak. I've also found that the quality control with these cushions varies a lot. I've had some that haven't leaked until 2-3 years later and others that sprang leaks in a month or two.

As I mentioned in the video, if it's still under warranty, ROHO can send you a new one for free and you can send in your old one for free, that way you're not going without a cushion and it's not costing you anything. Well they can definitely be a challenge at times, but one of the best ways to find the hole is has soapy water and the cushion full of air. When you locate the hole, stick a toothpick in the hole so you'll know right where it is. Then make sure the area is clean and dry before you apply the patch, for a better chance of the making good contact, you can ruff up the area around the hole with sand paper, fingernail file or anything else that has an abrasive surface. Then after that just be sure to wipe the area with an alcohol swab, let the alcohol dry then apply your patch. But if your hole is in a curved area, you may have to trim your patch so that it'll make a better connection.

Beyond my knowledge base I guess. P.S. I had a pressure wound for TWO years. At one point nurses would come daily to change my dressing. So I was basically in prison. They finally found the right cream and it went away. I recommend everyone avoid a pressure wound. Also, I'm a diabetic so it was even more dangerous.
Im looking into buying one of these soon because ive been dealing with pressure sores month after month this year but you guys say they go flat a lot.. but have you guys thought about using that slime product they use on tires to seal and prevent leaks?

I actually repair roho's for pinholes and replace the cells itself. For a pinhole you scuffed the area, clean it with a pad of alcohol and then you put your patch on as flat as you can. Then you take a tablespoon and press it down all around on a hard surface to guarantee it to stick. Changing cells is a different topic. I do it all the time. You do need skills for that and some extra tools and I've made templates up to help me guide the new cells back into place without them being off center or whatever.
For me, I get into the bath tub with it. I can then use my legs to help keep it submerged. I have a bad habit of losing my balance when I lean forward like that. My hands always seem to slip and I end up tumbling face first.
Ive been using ROHOs ever since they came out , it will take forever if the leak is tiny , you hyave to blow it up till it more or less the ends meet in the middle , i just use a spray , just rub your hands around each cell you will hear a bubble sound , today my ROHO mattress was flat so i pumped it right up sprayed the water and found it at the base of the valve now its tring to patch it , its 20 cells long by 10 cells wide
Hi Roho cushion user and mysteriously my cushion has a leak . Any ideas on how this happened? I’m not active enough to actively know how I punctured a hole I’m asking for different situations to learn from others as precautions to take.
It could be as simple as how you shift in your chair. It may have just pinched it just right. Also, if you’ve had it for a while, the rubber can break down and develop small holes. Also, if you shifted with anything pointy in your lap (a fork, nail, etc) that could also do it. ROHOs have a good warranty though. You can try to call them and see if they will replace it.

I have a Roho Contour Select, it has two valve stems. I have had a slow leak for a few months, I add air about once a week but a few days ago now its air daily. I found a leak in the lower chamber seating area a small hole and I patched the obvious leak but there is a 2nd slow leak somewhere else or maybe its leaking at one of the 2 stems I cant find the leak and am about to pay 369.00 for a new one, ughhhhhh.
I forgot to mention. We live in a house with ADA custom made shower stalls so no bathtub to submerge and find bubbles and its too big to put in a sink. I transfer to a shower bench havent had a bath since flu shot paralyzed me and got guillain barre syndrome.
Try using a spray bottle with soap water and watch for bubbles. That’s how people can find leaks for tires. It doesn’t always work but it’s worth a shot.

Using the valve in the front, when it’s “open” (pushed to the green side of the valve), air can flow freely between all chambers.

Yes you can. You will want to make sure your cushion is good and dry before putting the cover back on. It dries pretty quickly naturally though.
