Besides the portmanteau, JLow-JLeong, def there're uncanny physical/facial resemblances! For shuh, JLeong is a gd candidate portraying JLow. Alternatively, by his own admission a preference for low-key side-kick kind of role, he could take on a JLow stunt-double actor, eg, a scene
when JLows character being hunted, chased up Shanghai Tower (632'), fought-off China's secret police, the MSS, got punch and kick-off China's tallest building while in a futile attempt to escape onto a hoovering helicopter, instead plummeted down to his death into the streets of Shanghai with final C/U scene, JLow/JLeong facing upward giving a finale Batman's Joker smile - 'The End'! Winning the best Taurus World Stunt Award! 👏👏👏 Make Msia Boleh proud and gain datukship! No?😂. Tan Sri-ship? Nah! That's exclusive for our beloved TS Michelle Yeoh.❤

Since the1990s, comedians around the world have adapted to 'punching up' - that is to say, making fun of those with power and privilage. This is partly as a result of social attitudes that sees it wrong to make fun of say, the disabled, or on racial lines. From my observations, in Malaysia anyone, including comedians who 'punch up' are punched back, sometimes quite hard.

The easiest way to allow more freedom of speech is to separate politicians from harping on the 3R’s.. as they are the only ones that weaponize it.. doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out.. do what Indonesia did 10 years ago.. but too bad the politicians here don’t have he balls to make such changes.

I have to disagree on some part regarding the draconian law between West vs Malaysia.
    1. In the West, things will only get worse because of the citizen inability to have any meaningful dialogue with each other. It has been split into 2 teams like sports, I would even go as far as calling it blood sports. If you watch Charlie Kirk who is suppose to represent conservative value, conservatism means they believe in many traditional values such as there are differences between men & women, yet on that basis & understanding, Charlie go into full confrontational "debate" with women like the one in "Can 25 Liberal College Students Outsmart 1 Conservative?", like what do you expect to gain out of this? Traditionally, we believe women's brain do not function like men's brain which is more compartmentalize and tend to focus more on problem solving. In essence, women's brain are more feeling based therefore "irrational" as imply in the comedy skit "Men's Brains and Women's Brains" by comedian Mark Gungor. Trying to win the women in debate is like winning an argument with your wives or partners, what good does it do unless you like sleeping on sofa? A banter would have works better as you apply the law of "opposite attracts" but debate? This alone proves there are no room for dialogue or compromise because neither side believe in their own ideas.
    2. So because of the worsening situation mentioned above, conflict happen again and again where the authority don't even know whether any of the riots, protest, instability are caused by foreign actor, a natural one, or is it false flag planted by its own agency because the US are so used to causing coup in other countries that its agency could be doing the same now to their own government which make any civic or democratic effort pointless. If you ask me, I truly believe the Western intelligence agency such as CIA has lost control not knowing who is who anymore because even now can anyone tell me for certain if Edward Snowden is working for US, Russia, double agent, or rogue agent that serve himself? if you just put yourself in the shoe as the head of CIA, how could you even manage such organization or machinery which have grown into a monstrosity without anyone under you going rogue while your operation manual is to always conduct everything in secrecy which is fundamentally creating lies to cover another lies to cover another lies, eventually the lies is going to be too great and heavy for anyone to bear. It is only 6 days ago GOP of US has complain to the public there have been multiple assassination attempt and they have no clue why and they are raising the national security threat level to DEFCON 1 which is the most severe signaling a potential nuclear warfare. This is on Forbes Breaking News at 3:32 minute mark. This double edge sword CIA is almost impossible to manage at this point, it is just constantly very tense moment working in the security department where no amount of technology can help you mitigate this "Trust" issues, and I have not even touch on the superstition element that is causing even more distress and distrust to the security for things they see through spying that can't be explained. This is a huge topic alone which I would not go into detail but it was only the other day someone on Tiktok posted a video showing how US election actually observe Chinese Zodiac, so I did my own investigation and it turns out to be true. Donald Trump is Dog, Kamala Harris & Tim Walz are both Dragon which is the "mortal enemies" of dog and it seems apparent these candidate are selected purposefully in the year of the dragon :D
    I couldn't believe my eyes.
    3. Anyway the point of the observation above is to show that it is a very tense environment in the West right now and people are being put in prison for 12 months simply for saying something in UK for example while their prison are already full where they have to pre-release a large group of prisoners who is still serving their sentence, just to make space for more newer prisoners :S A lawyer in UK once quote to me, it is like managing a soup kitchen of chaos where their court have plenty of backlog due to covid and many are simply being held on remand in prison or Police station cell. I have seen the eyes of the police officer in Paris which is lifeless due to constant "hazard working environment" dealing with illegal refugees (who used to set up camp in the middle of Paris city!), crime, protest. Basically French police has been radicalized and UK police you can sense like they have "sell their souls" just to remain in the police force, behaving like a robot which isn't what British police are known for, you need to know that British police used to be only carrying a stick 10-20 years ago, now they are carrying mp5. These are the things I have not observe or seen in Malaysia police force yet, I know there have been a case of police officer who commit suicide but generally speaking, the one I have encountered still feel very human to me. I'm not sure it is because of the culture "rilek la" or our prison population & political climate is still manageable, again on Tiktok I saw clip of Zahid speaking how Johor Sultan has work with him to rehabilitate the prisoners by offering them jobs as helper in mosque once they are released while Namewee has spoke of his experience in prison which is mainly about how we could have treat foreigner better. All in all, it is nothing severe compare to the West. I remember about 10 years ago when I went to the police station in Sunway Pyramid to report a lost/stolen incident at night, a police officer was wearing sarong came up to the counter to greet me. To me, it is still that kind of vibe with the officer I have met. As long as we talk to them and treat them with respect and dignity, I am sure they would treat us the same but in the West, things could really get out of control with the constant war between people and the police which will bring me to the next point.
    4. Culture makes everything. A lot of times the way many Chinese speak in Malaysia is very direct & rude but it has been interpreted as Chauvinism or Racism by other races. The Chinese has never been know for being charismatic compare to other races because like I mentioned before their education are introvert based which has its strength & weakness, the strength is they can do but they can't talk! Secondly many of them are also being brought up by a previous generation which is like a PTSD generation who has live through many conflicts such as war or 513. If you go to BBK Network channel and watch their discussion on Western education vs Eastern (Chinese) education, you will come to realize they have unanimously agree that they want to move away from how they are being brought up by their parent, it is as if all of them have a trauma from childhood :D This phenomena can be further observed in the Wong Kei Chinese Restaurant in London which the staff are known to be very rude to a point where tourist actually go there just to experience their rudeness. This "concept" is what inspire and give rise to "Inside Karen's Diner" and other copycat where the waiter or waitress will treat you very rudely. Anyway the last time I went to Wong Kei, their staff are no longer rude but it seems like these "rude" culture has a mild Cantonese undertone. if you watch Hong Kong movie, the way they speak is very funny because they can express themselves more honestly but if you don't speak Cantonese and started experiencing this in real life, you will find it very rude and hard to click with them. This is why in Hong Kong riot happen, it was too easy to radicalize the crowd due to many non-political issues such as living in a small cage, lack of future prospect for younger generation, etc and it was very apparent there is a generation divide because it seems universal that Hong Kong older generation doesn't seem to know how to communicate with their children. I remember one of the rally organize by their parent asking their children to go home, the parent are still shouting and crying, a very typical Chinese or Asian parent. In retrospective, our Bersih demonstration seems much more calm & civil in comparison despite many attempt by many different parties to cause trouble because most of us seems to know what is at stake and our goal is simply to wanting something better for Malaysia.

    • @RetiredOrangUtan
      @RetiredOrangUtan 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

What I am getting at is that many things which we thought are culture is actually not culture but something we can improve and change over generations. The tricky question is whether we have enough time for that because if the West implode and war happens, that means generational efforts by everyone to improve their household will be wasted because we are back to tribalism and constant conflict. There will be winner and loser in war but there won't be any winner in civilizational sense. To paraphrase Lee Kuan Yew, "you still have to live!" who has always been preparing Singaporean for potential conflict where each unit in their condo come prepared with a bunker room constructed using reinforced steel and thick walls. He is also known to be the one depopulating Singaporean through eugenic policy to improve IQ. He understand the West, he knows what is the concern of the West, which is why despite not being the US allies, the US has really good relationship with Singapore. I don't know how else to communicate this message to the rest of the world especially global south countries that depopulation through good governance and policy can help create many middle class, it is in fact in our interest to do it because even if we are likely to find a new energy source in the future such as Thorium or the "artificial sun" being built by China that is close to infinite but the resource on earth and landmass is still pretty much finite. The earth cannot sustain much longer if we all don't do our part. The developed nation no longer want to help developing nations because they feel their liberal policy is causing harm to their own population while developing nation always harp on "morality high horse" just to win argument without realizing we can all help each other if we all just take a step back.
If global south countries be it BRICS, ASEAN or Malaysia can take the lead to show we understand these Western concern and it is actually a universal concern and come up with trajectory that can show our population will go down overtime to a sustainable level which is "fair" for everyone, the math have to make sense, then we could at least offer a gleam hope to the Western societies, to let off some steam because make no mistake, they are cooking right now like a pressure cooker.
Perhaps then we might have succeed in averting world war 3.
Do you know General Mattis of US once said the reason US setup IMF post world war 2 to provide loan to help kick start economies of other countries, money for people & SME to start business selling to each other, thus preventing the country from being depress & radicalized which put them on the path of fascism like history has shown us again and again, world war 2 happen because there is the great depression. Now what happen if US or the West is depress itself? Who is going to "deradicalize" them? The above is my question and answer on how to deradicalize the West by understanding their concern.
Every nation big or small will be able to contribute, you just need to know how to find your strength because weakness can be strength. Like Africa for example, it seems like a vast poor continent but it has rich culture that can help sooth the world with their music. Just listen to "Baba Yetu" from the video game Sid Meier Civilization, or "Anthem of the Savannah" from Genshin Impact, it has such great healing effect that it bring hopes to anyone almost instantly. Sarawak could even invite them to perform at Rainforest Music Festival like the question asked by Jason Leung on why Malaysia doesn't seem to know how to capitalize on this type of business. We also have our own Keretapisarong movement with the awesome Dikir Puteri song by Noraniza Idris.
Before we even get there, we need to know what is our problem. Things that used to take years for planning, can now be done in minutes using AI.
      That is revolutionary.

I may be wrong but I noticed that when a stand up artist becomes less popular they tend to raise on touchy issues just to regain popularity. As for freedom of speech, my take, people tend to misuse or be irresponsible leading to unnecessary problems. Freedom of speech doesn't mean u can say anything.

Punching up may sound like a great American value but it also go against American value such as “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” because it cultivate a habit or culture for the people to only complain but not do anything or contribute, to be part of the solution per se. That is why there is this wisdom from the Malay word when it comes to naming USA because it is call “Amerika Syarikat”, if you know it is a “corporation” then why do you still insist on running the country based on ideals alone? Anyone who have been part of the workforce would know every company has different work culture, some have more freedom, some have less but very rarely the employee get to vote who is the CEO, that is either decide by the shareholder possibly through voting or some other reasoning. I know in a democracy, the people always like to think we the people are the employer which is an idealism so that people will always strive for something better but the friction here between idealism & reality is that when one tries to run a company successfully, the employer will hired employee by asking them the question “what is your skillset” “what can you bring to the company”, hunting for talent or in some cases, so if Malaysian only position itself as the employer, then who is the employee? If government is the only employee, are you expecting the government to run your business for you just because you exercise your right to vote? Do you see the conflict of interest in philosophical sense? So it need to be balance, the citizen are employer but also employee with “shares” of the company which is Malaysia, that was the whole idea of KWSP with average 6% dividend!
So coming back to the topic of company, the company will usually hired according to their goals. For near term goal penetrating a new market, usually they do not need great talent nor do they have the capital to hire great talent, they merely need average talent in great numbers to get things running, so the wisdom of 三个臭皮匠胜过一个诸葛亮 (tree cobblers with average wits are better than one very wise mastermind) can be applied here. Like imagine I am starting up Comedy Central, i am not funny and I couldn’t find anyone very funny so I find Peter, Ong Kian Ming, and Jason Leung to just keep pumping out content even though it is unfunny but eventually the unfunniness is the funny part because we have the volume. Like watching B grade movies with friend just to laugh at the lousy script and special effect. This is the exact strategy adopt by China to penetrate the gaming market, first they focus on generic free to play mobile games, then they move on to multiplayer games on cross platform, and eventually they can finally develop triple AAA single player games with stories to sell their culture, enter Black Myth Wukong.
In fact, China itself is run like a singular corporation if you observe the way they structure their political organization as everyone in the country can join “one party”, although they are trying to reform and restructure itself and have more companies run like private organization but again if we observe the US, the line between private and public organization is blurred regardless of what they preach. Look at Google, it is taking part in US military defence, and lest not forget US military is the one that invent the internet. Ultimately if we put ideal aside for a moment, US is like the Malay word suggested, a through and through multinational-corporations while China is a single Chinese corporation with Huawei being the flagship brand. So if the true nature of this 2 superpower or big country is that they are fundamentally behaving like a corporation, then we have to realise there is limitation of wanting to run a country effectively simply by believing in ideals but we need to actually run certain area like how one would normal run a company! Democracy did not end with the vote but it continues with local city council, caring about our neighbourhood, etc. Civic duties come to mind but we barely have any education on that topic in school.
In contrast, our neighbour Singapore is run like a company too while combining the “imperial exam” aspect from ancient China, so politician professional qualification are highly celebrated. My point here is not to destroy ideas but rather deconstructing ideas so we Malaysian can find way to reconstruct ideas that suit our need, knowing how things works make everything easier. We already have our mission goal, CSR, or values. It is call Wawasan 2020, 1Malaysia, Keluarga Malaysia, Malaysia Truly Asia, etc. How do we get there is the question we need to ask our new hires or existing employees. We definitely cannot follow everything US or China do because just the size alone, we already fail the criteria. We need to size ourselves up honestly, eg. Are Malaysian culturally industrious? If not, are we suppose to double down on the effort to cultivate that culture or we seek a different way. We need to discover “our niche” like how some companies see themselves as OEM partner that simply supply some parts to some larger company.
How we cultivate that “work culture” of our “Malaysia truly Asia” corporation will decide our success in the future. There is a lot of lesson to be learned and found in Europe but currently Europe are not in the “right mood” to help or trade because psychology speaking, its people are feeling that they are losing their home like how the Malay think they are losing their home. When people felt they are under-threat, they always go inward and resort to protectionism. Even the idea of ASEAN is inspired by European Union, so I foresee a lot of potential opportunity if we know how to play our card and trade with them on things they really need like how we are trading "Security" with US.
Just imagine if you want to invest in green industries, you can't do it without Europe because they are the leader in this field. Green industry is not a straight forward industry where you can expect consistent result by spending time on accounting book or ledger alone because it is a very dynamic industry that require a lot of green knowledge meaning specialist such as Botanist are required. For example Germany has been experimenting with renewable energy by harvesting growing algae to create biofuel to produce heat and provide shade for the building. However when I visit that five-storey BIO Intelligent Quotient building in 2016, it was like already semi abandon. So we need to engage them and find out what is the lesson learned, what causes the failure. If it is due to demanding maintenance work which is not feasible in Germany with high labour cost, then for us that may not be a problem as we are actively seeking to create new jobs to be filled! Otherwise you will be looking at Singapore NTU Eco-Friendly Wood building that has a mold problem now because they did not consult green specialist, or even seek to import hard wood from the same region such as Malaysia but rather attempt to copy and paste the Europe wood structure that may be suitable for European climate but we are living in a tropical area with high humidity! I have been working with my treated Rengas wood in my garden or my toilet, I have yet to see any sign of mold issue.
As you can see it is a very new industry that require a lot of knowledge that the European has been mastering. One such project that we need from them is Danish Copenhagen incineration plant that convert waste to energy while at the top of the building is a recreational Ski slope! We have a lot of rubbish here that is polluting our river and environment, and something needs to be done. We need to ask Danish if they were to redesign that plant for Malaysia climate, what would they do differently. In return, we could offer to share the responsibilities of refugees crisis in Europe by housing some of them here. Of course the refugees need to be vet and what not but you get the drill.

PS: Do you know Sarawak has the world largest mass microalgae biomass production faciltiy?
If there is any young people reading this, don’t just play dota or call of duty. Play some games like Anno 2070, because if you were to specialise in the field of engineering or architecture, game like this can actually give you some inspiration because future profession no longer reside on one single domain of expertise, it’s a cross domain era where everyone needs to know a little bit of everything.

@@RetiredOrangUtan my advice to young people go for badminton . The rest is just pure crap. Getting your children to farming is better than spending tons of money to get your son to be a doctor. If everybody is doing the professional job who is doing the hard work and dirty work? I have no idea about Sabah and Sarawak. How ever I feel in KL and Selangor we still need many foreigners like Bangladesh , Nepal and Myanmar workers.

@@louong93 problem with Malaysia is our professional don’t know how to create jobs, that is what I am arriving at because we are taught to be just following script. If a professional knows how to apply the knowledge they have learn, such as importing mobile chicken house coops to Malaysia assuming we have enough flat land, there will be more jobs for farmer and healthier poultry.
But ya, Malaysian should be more involve in farming. Relying on foreign labour alone is not good. Food is national security!
