    song is "Sidechain" by Synthet, on streaming platforms
    @synthet7 on TT and IG
    note: There are loads of sidechain methods. Many really prefer using the Fruity Peak Controller but I’ve always been fond of this one. Just get yourself a go to tech. I'm also a big fan of DUCK by Devious Machines or Gross beat for just quick fast sidechaining.
    #sidechain #sidechaining
    all the love!
    hard to squeeze in but it should be used with cuidado. overused sidechain can be you know. ok i like that often. if it went too fast I learn this method back in 2015 from this guy:

      I think there is a much easier way, use the Fruity Peak controller, set the base to 20%, leave it for now, now add a Fruity Balance to the instrument you want to sidechain, now right click on the Fruity Blance and do Click on "Link to controller" and then on the source, we are going to put the channel where the Peak Controller is assigned (we select only the "peak" option) and in the formula, we expand the list and select "inverted"... now We remove the "remove conflicts" option (we do this so we can use it on more channels simultaneously) and that's it, we can now go to the Peak controller to play with the amount and time of the sidechain

    I remember when I watched a tutorial on music production for the first time. They were saying 'I think this needs a bit of side chaining'. They tweaked some knobs etc. and they put the before and after in the video, but what they changed was so subtle, that I could not hear a fricking difference. And they were saying stuff like 'wow do you hear that, it makes such a big difference'. I could not decipher what side chaining was until a few months later it clicked after reading some more explanations. But in this video, it was explained so clearly in just 18 seconds. Very well done

    In this regard, i think the most important skill in FL Studio is learning to use Maximus with every function, including RMS mode and the two releases as well as the relationship between the release curves and also input delay etc.. Together with the monitoring graphs, it's the most powerful compressor of all of them, enabling natural sounding side chain compression without actually sidechaining two tracks

    Another way I use to sidechain is using Fruity Peak Controller. I use the plugin to map the volume of the kick and adjust the Peak settings for, say, Fruity Balance (80 Base, -40 or -80 Volume) or EQ Level (50 Base, -25 or -50 Volume). Then, I put Fruity Balance or Fruity Parametric EQ 2 on the stuff I want to sidechain and then use ‘Link to Controller’ to map the peak input to the volume control. I found it very useful for ducking the volume or low end without the use of an automation clip. The downside, however, is that you don’t have a lot of flexibility to customize the sidechain curve; though, you could play around with Tension and Decay settings.
    Ngl, Fruity Peak Controller is underrated, and I just discovered how it’s used in ‘I’m Awake’ by Bombs Away. The LFO is great for automating LFO on stuff without so many automation clips (you can adjust the input settings if you know your math which makes it more convenient and uses less peak controllers with different settings). Heck, you could even use automation clips as controllers for other stuff.

    I use Fruity Peak Controller and Fruity Balance to achieve the same thing; fruity Limiter can have some clarity issues based on it's compression engine. Written volume automation can work, but it can also introduce clicking and other volume problems when drawing the curve. Further, it's a bit harder to tune correctly, since you are controlling it by hand and not by your kick/sound (ie a curve could look right but is subtlely too sharp or short and cause phasing or volume issues with your sounds overlapping or be too long and lose energy.)

    You can also make a pattern called kick, which plays the kick and the automation so that you dont have to add them seperately.

    10/10 tutorial. Amazing method, short simple tutorial, simple showcasing, and amazing beat in the background that actually works into not only the demonstration, but what you are saying as well. You earned a like and a new subscriber

    i'm not even a producer, but i really like all of your videos. Short and concise explanations on a chill beat and said beat actually demonstrates the explanation perfectly, and on beat, without pauses.
    VERY NICE!

    Side chain your main vocal to your harmonies EQ, except make it boost the high frequencies.
    You need an EQ plugin that supports side chain and dynamic EQ. Boost around 10k on the harmony, side chain that to the vocals. It gives a nice airy sparkle that follows the lead vocal

    It sounds like if I am having my ears blasted by the kick
    Seems to be a good way of making sounds sound louder than they actually are
