    So glad you are going to continue to make videos and inspire new Shapeoko users just like you did me. You have a great way of explaining the process of building digital projects!!
    Thanks for everything you do!!

    I Ordered my first cnc, the Shapeoko 4 XXL, during the Black Friday in June sale. Assembly was 8 hours over 3 days. I used Winston's video and the .pdf for the Shapeoko Pro as references. Bouncing back and forth between the two got me there, mostly. I had one hiccup on the y-axis-data drag chain placement. An email to Carbide support got me a quick response that included a "draft" of the assembly instructions. In the meantime, I had recognized and corrected my error. The machine's design and sturdy build far exceeded my expectations. Thanks for the file share of the stool. Hope to make one soon.

    Thanks John for taking your time with this video. I had mine dropped off at the end of my driveway! (Lazy Guy!). Well, I have to wait until I am finished with my present employment (as I work on the rails, and will be away from home most of the time for at least another year or two). While I have been off, I did have the time to make myself a Monster Table to hold my Shapeoko Pro 4 XXL!
    In the meantime, I'll be watching your projects while on the road! I already have a lineup of gifts to carve for others! Wow!...
    P.S. I also purchased the rail kit for my SO3 so I'll require a new shop when I'm done with the Railways~!

      I was pretty amazed at how much room the XXL takes up. I hope the videos help.

    03:50 Do you mind, I've just had inguinal hernia surgery, Bashing Nuts is a sensitive subject at the moment!! 😏👎😭
    Great you got new machine, hope it lifts your post lockdown mood with new carving capabilities. Amazing piece of kit. I saw the capabilities comparison chart when SH4 was released, completely different world than the 3!

    John I have been looking at the xxl S 4 my self. question is what you got all standard for the on the unit you got
    thanks Jeff

    • @johnearlclark
      @johnearlclark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think everything but the bitsetter and router is standard. I think they seperate the router in case someone already has a Makita RT0701C or a previous Carbide router. It's a very nice machine.

    Question John can the shapeoko 4 and the pro cut past the front of the machine to beable to do vertical box joints ? I sure hope so I just bought the Pro

      I have the pro XL. And yes, it does come a bit in front off the waste board. (I can't speak for the XXL Pro), perhaps ask SAMCRAFT?

    I have the shapeoko 4 and I’ve been having problems with belts being too stretchy. I push it hard and have tons of run time on the machine already. I’m going to upgrade to fiberglass core belts soon and see if it makes a difference. Should reduce the stretch and backlash. So far I’m super happy with it though!

    • @johnearlclark
      @johnearlclark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not run into any belt issues so far. Hopefully it's just a bad batch and the new belts will get you fixed up. Glad you are enjoying the machine. I have found mine to be a real treat.

    John will the percentage calculator work with V Carve Pro 10 also how bit is the Pro 4 cutting area?
    Thanks jeffr Peters

    • @johnearlclark
      @johnearlclark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should work with any program that allows you to adjust scale. The 4xxl is 33 inches square for cutting area.

      @@resorter66 That's part of a pen holder for drawing with the machine. It's a push on / pull off design and I forgot I had it on there. I will be covering it in the next video.

    John question .when you used the percentage calculator because your plywood was not .75 on the stool . did it resize just the slots and tabs .Or did it resize the whole pieces of wood
    thanks jeff

    • @johnearlclark
      @johnearlclark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It resizes everything. That way the tabs will still match the smaller slots. By scaling everything, the design stays proportional.

    • @resorter66
      @resorter66 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnearlclark So does the does the overall stool get bigger or smaller

    • @johnearlclark
      @johnearlclark  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@resorter66 yes. scaling is going to change the overall size, but you are typically talking about a few hundredths of an inch. It makes a big difference on how the pieces fit, but not really much on the overall size.
